I do not believe the government can bring or will bring down the cost of electricity! Major component our electric bill is TAXES! Every stage in the electricity distribution system is taxed! Even fuels used in generating electricity is heavily taxed. Even our own resource, natural gas from Malampaya oil field, is taxed or burdened with royalty! Unless the government is willing to reduce its revenues, the possibility of reducing our electric rates will always be a dream! But as goodhearted citizens..."we can always dream on!"

What ever Government or President need bring in taxes,,Tax on  gas and electricity is a easy way to get in the taxes, more tax on Alcohol tobac is also a good way to get  taxes

The question are what the government doing with the taxes so it benefit the people ,,for shore not doing monkey business with Mickey Mouse and co

REMOVE THE EVAT AND THE 55% ROYALTY TAX ON NATURAL GAS..AND IT WILL GO DOWN... 

for me a take-over can bring two possibilities

...they can bring down electricity rates...

also

...they can bring down Meralco...

the government will bring down electricity rates. if there really is a santa claus.
