on the other hand, if there were no state law on minimum wages, nothing stops employers from dictating labor prices at their behest. in which case, laborers will always be on the short end. while labor's only recourse in these cases is a strike (as provided by law), it will always be business on the winning side if no such government commission or wage control board exists.
what we need to do to rise above this dilemma is a tripartite board that cannot be swayed by grease money or death threats from businessmen in their decisions.
