    Re: Cardinal Vidal

It is really sad that people from Manila are hitting Cardinal Vidal and dragging his name in the mess created by Jun Lozada.  Sister  Mary John Mananzan, OSB, may not know the policy in Cebu regarding masses.  The Cardinal issued a Memorandum to all churches in the arcdiocese of Cebu last year stating that no masses shall be officiated outside the church or chapels.  No masses shall be conducted in parks, malls, and other places, which are not a place of worship.  If the request of Sister Mary John was for a mass be conducted inside the USC gym, of course, the priests will turn it down because it is not a place of worship nor a church.  In addition, they have to seek permission from the Parish Priest of Sto. Rosario.

In fact, Fr. Max Abalos, SVD, a member of the Cebuanos for Truth (C4T) that supported the visit of Lozada had stated and to quote "He has not received any memorandum from anybody or from the cardinal discouraging priests from officiating masses for Lozada.  He said that he was surprised when Sister Mary John Mananzan, OSB, Chairperson of the Association of Major Religious Superiors, called up C4T to follow-up on the mass when IT WAS NOT PART IN THE PREPARATIONS FOR THE VISIT.  At the back of my mind, I asked if the value of a mass was looked upon by the organizers and if that value was recognized, THEN THE MASS WOULD ALREADY HAVE BEEN PART IN THE PREAPARATION. SINCE WALA, AND NOW THERE IS AN AFTERTHOUGHT, I WONDER WHAT IS THE VALUE OF THIS MASS?  For me, if the purpose of the mass is not clear, why celebrate the mass?"

So you are surprized? Bawal dahil sinabi nilang bawal, that's the way it is. no crying or any other method can change their decision. PERIOD Cebuanos, and people from its surrounding regions, region six for example, are extremely  very political, independent, not naive with foreigners such as chinese, mestizos and hacienderos,  very teritorial or very protective of their own regions. Their word is final kahit sino pang santo na taga maynila ang uutos sa kanila ay hindi uubra. They are virtually acting as if the region is a separate state from the rest of the country. In short they want a federal kind of government.

Kayong mga nasa abroad na may TFC, I pity you kasi iisang klase lang nang ABS-CBN or media ang napapanood niyo. You will be surprized that Manila is not the center of attention in other regions like in CEBU.

    Re: Cardinal Vidal

I give you a brief background about CEBU and as well as Region six.  There are only two classes of  people over there, the Rich (negosyante at haciendero) and the poor (tauhan sa hacienda o boy o yaya or napadpad lang). These two classes discriminate against each other. In other words they hate each other.

Virtually, no middle class, at least psychologically, no middle class. If you look like a poor or working on the farm, the rich or (yung nagkukunwaring rich) look down on you. If you are rich or (behaving like a rich), the poor,  those feeling poor, those that look like poor, will hate you. Walang hiya, kahit nga yung mga naging yaya nang mga mayayaman ay ni-lu-look-kdown nila mismo ang mga mukhang mahihirap hehehe, at ayaw nilang matawag na poor at gusto nilang maging high class. In short, there is a very clear distinction between the two classes, kind of the democrat vs the republican. The only difference is most of them are poor and few are rich (i.e. chinese and hacienderos) In short, mukhang pera ang mga tao dito. hehehehe

Given that situation, once somebody who belongs to the poor  or came from the poor class get a hold of power, they will hold on and maximize that power. For example may naging pari na nanggaling sa mahihirap ay expected na para sa mahirap siya at may bias siya against sa mga mayayaman, (i.e. hacienderos and chinese)

Oh before you even decide to debate with Cebuanos and Ilonggos they've made their decision. Debates just doesn't work. What works for them is protecting their territory above all. In short puro sila patriots. The good thing about this is outsiders or manipulators don't work.

Come to think of it that they are like the majority of Americans. They may allow you to talk and do debates and crying but the final result will always be the same, they've already decided to kick you out of their territory no matter what your reason is. That's the truth. And I like it that way, and I hope those in the Metro Manila amd Luzon will someday behave this way in order for the country to stand strong against those destroying national or territorial interests of most Filipinos.

You will be surprized that Manila is not the center of attention in other regions like in CEBU.

sad...wala talagang pagasa ang pinas walang pagkakaisa....dahil sinabing bawal that's it....hindi pala uso ang magtanong at gamitin ang reason sa cebu....so you are saying wala kang alam na reason kung bakit bawal? may sour graping ba ang cebuanos sa manilanians? sa akin kase i just see them as filipinos....iisa lang ang ihi niyan...

Oh before you even decide to debate with Cebuanos and Ilonggos they've made their decision. Debates just doesn't work. What works for them is protecting their territory above all. In short puro sila patriots. The good thing about this is outsiders or manipulators don't work.

i thought i am talking to fellow filipinos....just sad....

If you can survive their law then good for you. hahahahaah They are not naive that's the way it is.

that's the thing...their, they, and not US as a single unit....that is the sad part....

when i talk to filipinos here, that's it a filipino, i dont care if visaya, tagalog, etc....pinoy parin...

For me, if the purpose of the mass is not clear, why celebrate the mass?"

just wandering bakit nga bawal mag mass sa labas ng simbahan? sa hospital/bed side puede? Si Jesus nag sermon sa mountain? madalas pa nga sa public places...paki-explain naman ang rationale nito at kung biblical ba ito?
