    Petroleum Monopoly

Peso getting strong and Dollars getting weak but the price of basic commodities are getting higher. The reason behind of this is the monopolized petroleum. Big companies where saying that because of the offer in world market price for petroleum products are increasing which they need to increase also. The matter they increase the petroleum the basic commodities also increase but when the dollar weakening and peso get stronger and also the price in world market decrease the basic commodities does not follows. This is the problem why we are experiencing difficulty in life out there in the philippines because of the monopoly of the Petroleum. Companies only think their profit because of this is their business they stock the petroleum and release it when they think the world market price for petroleum increase and they will increase and again Filipino are the one sufffering. Unlike before when one company own by the government and sell to the public. Now, we have energy Secretary which Mr. Reyes but can not control the rampant increase of the Petroleum because he is not effective on that position. People need to be on that position with a background of Economics or Accounting to understand whats going on the price for Petroleum.

    Solution

     1. Control the rampant Price Hike of Petroleum. Once the petroleum increase people think they need to increase too which you can no longer hold back the price once it get lower.

    2. When Petroleum Decrease all commodities needs to be lowered in price.

    3. NGO's and Government Sector need to have a Petroleum Company to control this matter and ease the life of common Filipino.

Your suggestions and solutions are more well welcome for our Country.

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

I think you got it all wrong.  The petroleum companies will "try" to reflect what the price is in the world market.  What must be controlled is the price of commodities...  As you just described..when petroleum prices go down...basic commodities still stay up...

There should be a regulating body for basic commodities...

Petroleum prices will just go up and down or whichever way...but what must be regulated to show the true prices based on the price of petroleum are our basic commodities...

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

Im with you on that side but if you would notice it was lately that they controlled the Petroleum. We all know that price of the Petroleum will be Hike no matter what. The point is petroleum company are not really losing, they are just going along with the price that the world market mandate it. Tarif for this companies was been lessen too. So my point is to avoid the common comodities to hike is control this because if you wont control this price of the comodities will hike to which makes it the reason in the market to hike their price. Aside from that Reyes is not good on this one. He can handle military only but not on control of the oil companies. I guest it will better if economist will be put on his position which they know the supply and demand....As of yesterday 08-03-2008 the price of petroleum increase again. Imagine when the issue of price increase in petroleum and the masses irritated already to the increase of the petroleum thats the time the company will tell to the public that they will decrease the price. It only means that if it is regulated properly this increase wont take place at all.

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

I believe the control of the world's petroleum prices only lies at the hands of OPEC...

Our country relies so much on imported petroleum that we are badly affected enough. If our country won't be able to produce enough oil supply for our use we always have to rely on expensive imported petroleum. But to produce enough oil for our use is not the only solution...

another good solution is to simply minimize the use of petroleum...

...and to use alternative energy sources(Wind, Biofuels, nuclear, etc.)...

I believe the government has drafted several plans inclined to the use of clean and new energy sources...

But I believe it's time we see it being implemented

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

I agree that its about time to research on alternative energy source which other country already found some of this its only a matter of sicerity for the fund supposed to be alotted on those project. Its about time also to make a different progress on our country specially Filipino are putting up to the world class our country but it will be useless unless it would change the corruption on our country which most of the time poor are the one who are affected and not those who are born to be rich.So control the petroleum and basic comodities will be followed.

Be sincer on the jobs you get into it.If you can not do to serve your fellow Filipino look for another job I know you have conscince why you left that job rather than be part of the system of corruption.

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

Now petroleum companies still rumphant on increasing the price. This should not be happening for the benefits of everybody. I guess on my point of view these oil companies whont stay to our country be on the business if they are really not profiting on their product. Imagine how many times the petroleum got higher to word market most of the time they are telling this as their excuse which it should not be. They have alot of depot which they buy those with cheaper price. Of course they wont buy it in higher price they will disposed those previouse stock they have and again they will still stay on the business. Its about of time to say the price get hight to word market.

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

But who will dictates when the price goes down to the world market. Thats why we have the position of Reyes to make it sure that it wont increase unless it really have too. There are depo that are bought with lower price just like hoarding of oils...So, why dont they start monitoring the importation and hoarding of oils????????????? thats the question not just talk talk talk and we can not do anything because the world market dictates the price...Thats why too much oil company are still in the country because they knew they will have good investment. Lagi lugi daw kung lugi diba dapat nagsi alisan nahhhhhhh how many years even Petroleum have increase for so many years imagine still they are standing to the business because of the fact they are earning.....

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

We need to find out an alternative solution like natural gas we have..We are born to be inventor and genuise Filipino we can modify those existing machineries which will use current. Its a matter of support from our government to believe to those inventor and scientist. Like those previouse years when one Filipino was using water instead of gas imagine that where he is now????? After a year in Germany they launch their water car then followed by Honda...Imagine those scientist it was view with Rated K and in TV patrol too but where does their invation. I guess there where too much opposing that it wont work why is that other country where able to use this technology. We are complaining that the word market for the price of crued were getting higher or we just dont want to have a solution to make the monopoly of Petroleum so Congressmen and the government have kick back from these??????

    Re: Petroleum Monopoly

Indeed, now they want to take charge again to the company to make it messy and again sold to a private when it is mess already...Hayyyyyy government really diverting the real issues to make it complicated to every Filipino. But in the other hand I guess it helps to brought it the pricing of the electric. Reyes could not even solve the problem of the monopolizing of the Petroleum is he really playing blind or maybe he has a kick back from the Petroleum company?????????? All favors are given to these companies....Is he really a soldier, cause from what I know to a soldier they fight for the common goods of the civilians and not for an private entity.

I can smell a rat. A government takeover followed by a public sale using "monopoly breakup" as a good alibi. Lots of opportunities for commissions and kickbacks.
