Has anyone seen the "mini-show" Pinoy Destinations on TFC lately? It's like a short filler travel show promoting destinations Philippines have to offer.

That really isn't new though Jerome. I've seen that little inset for years now.

Oh ok lol! It looked somewhat new because they had these hosts that I've never heard of, but maybe I never really noticed them a lot.

I'm shocked that TFC didn't update into Christmas graphics. But I still love the graphics pack that they have now, it doesn't have the "sawa factor"!  ;D ;D ;D

Well technically they have NEWER ones but 'Pinoy Destinations' has been part of TFC in-between programming for years now.

Yup the graphics are far better than year's past but still waiting for Christmas layouts as well. :)

Ah okay. The graphics are okay... they're like the same in previous years, but they seem really bland this year. At least there are some nice music. I still prefer the last graphics even though they still have the summer vibe.  :P

Nong pinapalabas ang GGV, may message na pinakita na due to license issue, di daw pwede ipakita ang show na yon.  Sayang.

Christmas graphics gone today. Replaced with newer graphics like the 2012 one, but with newer scenes.

They always update graphics on Sunday at the ASAP timeslot. Is there a reason why?

I was just watching Cinema One Global and there is some teleserye with Ina Raymundo. Anyone know what soap that is? I don't even recall this one, maybe it was a short teleserye? Elizabeth Oropesa and Serena Dalrymple were also part of it.

I searched Google, lol, is it called Eto Na Ang Susunod na Kabanata? The sitcom only aired for two months, I guess they had to cancel quickly because of low ratings. That's nice that Cinema One Global airs more rare replays of dramas. I wish there was more game/reality show replays on BRO though.

No I don't think that was it. Eto Na Ang... was a sitcom, this was a heavy drama.

Yeah I would rather see game shows on BRO din. Its way too saturated with pseudo-testosterone programming. My dad watches female collegiate volleyball almost daily, lol.

That TFCKat thing... I was curious about that. Will they just air the auditions? I know the winners will be part of The Voice of the Philippines auditionees (its odd that we get to see this prior to those in the PH). Any date revealed for the start of this? I might fire up my TFC on my DirectTV for once to check it out. Probably some Sunday night slot I assume?

I think there will be a separate show soon. We seen one TFCkat from UAE on the PGT4 auditions so far, there's definitely going to be more now that they talked about the partnering of TFCkat and PGT on the premiere.

Sounds great, didn't see that teaser yet. Will it be Belo Beauty 101 again or another new lifestyle show?

I also saw that Dimples Romana will take over TFC Connect!

Still waiting for Kwento ng Summer Natin to premiere on TFC and the new graphics!

They were teasing a mystery female. Looks like the Dra. that was with G Tongi might be back. Wasn't she on GMA Pinoy TV for a time? It also could have been Vicky Bello's daughter Christine but I couldn't really tell.

..

Gotta love Dimples :)

Ahh so RSVP is back on TFC? Yeah the season 2 was on GMA Pinoy TV but now it's disappeared. Well it was better off when it was on TFC all along and the "reformat" on GMA didn't work when I watched it. It will be way better when it's back on TFC!

Their new slogan is the same as ABS-CBN's. TFC: Kwento ng Summer Natin.

Will this foreshadow TFC's very own "Kwento ng Summer Natin" summer ID? Because the ABS-CBN Summer ID has still not aired...?

This hasn't been a new issue but I hate how the East Coast gets certain programs into the wee hours of the morning and California gets it in 'Primetime.' For example, late night we had BB. Pilipinas... it aired at 2AM (California was around 11PM). There better be a replay! So annoying!

I know right, what if TFC had an extra feed for Eastern? So we have like a TFC Pacific and TFC Eastern? I don't know if that will hurt their "budget" of some sort but it would definitely be more ideal, especially programs like PGT and GGV too in Eastern Time. :(

Man, theres something wrong with our Cable Provider/TFC. We don't have a box, but we have TFC through our Cable Provider, and the listings only say "Filipino Channel Programming"....... its been 3 days, I wish they would fix this. Without the listings, my PVR wasn't able to record any shows........ :( I don't know whos at fault my Cable Provider or TFC. Either way please FIX it!!

Filipino lifestyle channel launches on Time Warner Cable

By Meg James
3:07 PM PDT, April 26, 2013

Filipinos living in Los Angeles and San Diego can now tune in to a primarily English-language channel called the Lifestyle Network, which launched this month on local Time Warner Cable systems.

The new channel is owned by ABS-CBN International, a subsidiary of the largest broadcasting company in the Philippines. Based in Redwood City, Calif., ABS-CBN International has operated in the U.S. for two decades and runs the Filipino Channel. The Lifestyle Network will be a blend of programming from the Philippines, the U.S. and other countries.

Programming is scheduled to include coverage of concerts and local festivals, a food show called "Chef's Table," a lifestyle magazine program called "Us Girls," and the news program "The World Tonight."

More than 1.5 million Filipinos live in California, with nearly half residing in the greater Los Angeles region. San Diego and Santa Clara counties also have large Filipino American communities.

"We recognize that The Filipino Channel needed a companion specialty channel that caters more to Filipinos who are looking for programming that addresses personal improvement, individual empowerment and expansion of one's world," ABS-CBN North America marketing executive Jun Del Rosario said in a statement.

Time Warner Cable has been tweaking its programming lineup. The company is trying to maintain customers, in part by adding destination channels. Time Warner Cable is spending tens of millions of dollars a year in its push into local sports programming with a channel devoted to the Los Angeles Lakers and another planned to televise Los Angeles Dodgers games beginning next season.

The Lifestyle Network is found on Channel 683 in Los Angeles and Channel 691 in San Diego for Time Warner Cable digital customers.

BTW I have a bone to pick with Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel and his latest commercial spot talking about a 'proposed' bill or what-have-you that COULD POSSIBLY grant around 20,000 green cards (in 2014 and vastly more in years to come) to 'lower-level' occupations like caregivers, maids, etc.

Ummm... what annoys me about this commercial is that its not even official. Why give some people FALSE HOPE by talking about it when it hasn't even passed? Why bring it up already? Yes there is a possibility but there are no guarantees. Does Atty Gurfinkel just want more airtime on TFC?

Yup I hope we get this soon on DirecTV, I guess they just want to have a test run before officially launching the whole network. And it sounds like they will have even more local programming (particularly the LA area), so this might be more interactive than TFC itself!

Citizen Pinoy has been repetitive lately... it's always the same question and answers. I wish we had more unique stories and add new elements into the show to give everyone more true hope. I miss the days when Gel co-hosted and when they had filmed in the Philippines.

Yeah Citizen Pinoy is repetitive and I rarely watch it anyway. They need celebrity guests again and maybe a different co-host from time to time.

And one more thing... Gurfinkel mentioned that 'the votes are in and Citizen Pinoy is coming to... Skogi (sp?) Ummmm who voted for that place? I think people barely know of the name? Who voted? Those people in that city?

Yeah I don't really like the sense of reliability that he talks about in this new bill. It's better to reveal the facts before the fiction.

Skokie, Illinois??? Why the. I googled it and it's a small suburb. Should have just been in urban Chicago if they really wanted to go to the Midwest again.

TFC to kick off its first online Kapamilya Fans Day event

By Glaiza Jarloc

Friday, May 3, 2013

THE Filipino Channel (TFC) is set to mount its first online Global Kapamilya Fans Days event with the cast of noontime series "Be Careful with My Heart".

Through its online platform TFC.tv, lead star Jodi Sta. Maria and Cebuano actor Richard Yap will be available to answer questions from fans all over the world on May 4, Saturday at 1 p.m. Manila time.

They will be joined by Mutya Orquia, who plays Abbey in the series, Rosario Carlos (Doris) and Vivieka Vivieka (Sabel).

Pinoys all over the world can join the live chat by registering to TFC website for free. Fans will also get a chance to win limited edition autographed memorabilia.

The Global Kapamilya Fans Day will now be a regular online event exclusively for overseas Filipinos.

Audie Avecilla-Riola, marketing manager for TFC.tv, said that it's the network's way of connecting Pinoys abroad to their favorite stars through these exclusive online events.

The Global Kapamilya Fans Day is also a preview on what's to come at the "Be Careful with My Heart US Tour".

The same cast, with Kapamilya singers Jovit Baldivino and Yeng Constantino, will visit Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on May 10 and Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida on May 12.

On May 17, Aiza Seguerra will join the cast for the Canada leg in Edmonton, Alberta and on May 19 in Toronto, Ontario for the One Kapamilya Go! 2013 event. (Sunnex)

I liked Sunday's schedule even though it's only temporary for the live Halalan 2013 coverage. It's much more eastcoast-friendly. ;)

I especially liked Adobo Nation at our 3:30pm Pacific Time slot, for some reason it's much more appropriate so that all the time differences can watch it at a decent timeslot.

I was pleasantly surprised by the live election coverage on the main TFC channel. I expected it on ANC but it was better than the regular same ole boring programming at the time.

Be Careful with My Heart Rewind (with English Subtitles) is coming this May 25 on TFC North America!

Adobo Nation's 5th anniversary show is this May 26!
Correct Jerome!

Surprised its been 5 years of Adobo Nation... I'd rather see them more on TFC than Gelo over and over again...

Excited to watch the BCWMH in English even though I'm understand tagalog more and more now... xD. It looks like it will start back from the beginning or something. Not sure how they will air those.

Adobo Nation truly deserves it. I just love the group dynamics of the hosts especially the newer ones. It's always refreshing to see something new every week, and I'm excited to see what's on their anniversary show.

Lifestyle Network doesn't seem like it's on DirecTV yet, I guess they're still testing in Southern California via Time Warner Cable.

Yeah my DirecTV hasn't had any new Filipino channels since they rebranded Kapamilya Channel and Cinema One to BRO and Cinema One Global. Wish we had more new channels.

Definitely agree and please get rid of GEM, why do we even have that attached to our TFC package.
What does that have to do with TFC at all? Its way too preachy for my taste. The only thing I enjoy on that sorry network is Landmarks hosted by Faye de Castro :)

This is my suggestion, have bro show all the old teleserye aside from the old sitcom.  And just make Cinema one global show movies exclusively again.

It's boring to watch those sports show on bro.  Just waste of air time imo.  Cinema one should just stick to it's name and just show movies.

Also if possible, show also some kdramas on Bro.  Or maybe on Myx channel.  Also it would be nice to show asian movies about romance/comedies besides martial arts movies.

Agreed ANBU. It makes no sense to have soaps on CINEMA One Global.

BRO should return to its original name... The Kapamilya Channel or whatever it was called (I forgot already). I get bored myself with the replay of basketball games or other sports that I couldn't care less about. I wonder how much the ratings it gets from its days as it was before?

Concerning K-Dramas they cost a ton to air on TFC tv so I doubt that will happen again. I remember Meteor Garden aired before on one of the TFC channels and that was a huge amount to say the least.

...

And MYX is boring to me as well... too much California related programming and not much about Asian music on that network.

I watch some of the Korean music videos but I don't care about all those Kali local artists or events as well as the lame MMA fights and moronic Kung-Fu movies. I love Voltron but how many times can I watch the same ish over and over again.

Anyone else kinda chuckle when the TFCKat commercial play and they say that the original 'winners'... something like 'wowed Pinoys over the world' and they will have a 2nd version of it... I'm like... who became famous on it? I can't think of one that became famous through that contest, the majority imploded on the PGT4 auditions and others failed on the Blind Auditions.

I didn't notice that they were in The Voice too. It was just a waste of time to put them on PGT, only to have another local singer win again. However, in fairness, Roel sung a great rendition of Annaliza! The TFCkats would've stood a better chance on The Voice.

There were at least 2 that auditioned for The Voice PH from what I know.

Ugh, can't stand hearing Roel butchering the Annaliza theme. That's GREAT? Are we hearing the same rendition?

Well I preferred it better than Liezel's rendition. I understand they like to alternate versions once in a while, but I don't know, I like both renditions.

Posted on August 20, 2013 | 10:26 AM

ABS-CBN and its various free-to-air and cable channels will be airing the movies of the late Fernando Poe Jr. as a gift to the fans of the King of Philippine Cinema on his 74th birthday and to showcase his legacy and contribution to the movie industry and the Filipino masses.

With ABS-CBN’s unmatched reach in the country and worldwide, viewers can choose to watch a variety of FPJ movies whenever they want on its platforms with the relaunch of the FPJ movie timeblock on Channel 2 with the handle “FPJ, Da King,” and the new movie blocks “FPJ, Ang Nag-iisang Alamat” on Studio 23; “FPJ, Ang Hari ng Pinoy Cinema” on Cinema One; “FPJ, Ang Da King Magpakailanman” on Jeepney TV; and “FPJ, Ang Simbolo ng Pilipino” on The Filipino Channel (TFC).

Weeks leading to the launch, “Banana Split Extra Scoop” and Studio 23’s “Gag U” will present FPJ-inspired skits and FPJ impersonators, while Sunday musical variety show “ASAP 18” will feature some of the most memorable theme songs in FJP’s films in a special number.

Also watch out for the FPJ trivia contests on DZMM and MOR 101.9, as and the re-airing on Cinema One of “Alay ni Da King: An FPJ Special,” a TV special examining FPJ as an artist, a cultural icon, a friend and colleague, and an idol of the masses.

ABS-CBN recently acquired the rights to FPJ’s exclusive movie library, a collection of classic movie titles that FPJ starred in, wrote, directed, and produced.

Watch out for FPJ movies soon on ABS-CBN, Studio 23, Cinema One, Jeepney TV, and TFC.

ABS-CBN Opens Doors to Filipinos with Ideas for Online Shows

Posted on August 31, 2013 | 10:40 AM

ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III on Friday (Aug 30) said the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate is opening its doors to Filipinos who have ideas for online shows and dream of having their concepts produced into new programs and content material on the Internet.

ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez at the 7th Internet and Mobile Marketing Summit

In his keynote presentation at the 7th Internet and Mobile Marketing Summit titled “Insights About Innovation: Online and Offline Synergies,” Lopez announced ABS-CBN’s plan to replicate video-sharing website YouTube’s project that funded original channels for celebrities, online video creators, and Hollywood studios.

Lopez said ABS-CBN will be choosing five or more ideas for online content, which will be funded, produced, and put out on an appropriate online platform. Ideas and concepts can be sent to [email protected] before the end of the year.

“What YouTube is doing for the rest of the world, ABS-CBN would like to do for the IMMAP members and the Philippines. If you have an idea, let’s collaborate. This is exactly how: Send us your content ideas that you think will work on the digital space,” he said.

“We will promote them aggressively. And like what they do on YouTube, we will go into a revenue-sharing partnership,” said Lopez.

“If the idea flies in the online space, we can look into migrating them or recreating them in the analog broadcast market,” he added.

Lopez said that content creators may work on the new top-rating primetime teleserye “Got to Believe” and develop ideas that can be produced into webisodes. However, he encouraged entrants to be more creative and not limit their ideas to teleseryes.

ABS-CBN’s plan to collaborate for online content is a way of enriching the network’s broad online presence and reach. ABS-CBN’s online properties, including video-streaming website iWant TV and its various YouTube channels, approximate 100 million views per month, Lopez noted.

“Our feeling is that the digital era is really the great equalizer. You are at par with any studio, any network, any movie company. You only need passion and your idea. I think it is passion that will drive the new digital era. We want your ideas and we’re willing to work with you. If you have an idea that defines who you are in this planet, we want to hear it,” he said.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s chief digital officer and IMMAP founding president Donald Lim also spoke about digital public relations at the event with his presentation “Boom! Engage or Monitor?”

Lopez and Lim were among the industry thought leaders and experts who served as speakers at the 7th Internet and Mobile Marketing Summit, which is organized annually by the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), an association of Internet and mobile marketing establishments in the country.

MAYA AND KUTE’S SECRETS ARE REVEALED ON “BE CAREFUL WITH MY HEART’S” SUB-TITLED VERSION ON TFC

Ser Chief, Abby and Maya week 1LR

No secret is safe as “Be Careful With My Heart’s” sub-titled version reveals much-awaited twists in the beloved characters’ lives on The Filipino Channel (TFC) this September for the enjoyment of Filipino and non-Filipino speaking viewers.

Maya and Ser Chief week 3LR

Opening the month is the exciting episode when Maya (played by Jody Sta. Maria) realizes she truly has feelings for her straight-faced employer, Richard “Ser Chief” Lim (Richard Yap) and starts to avoid him.  Unfortunately, Maya finds herself physically closer to Ser Chief instead as she takes on fellow maid, Doris’ (Tart Carlos) chores as the latter goes on leave.  Kute, (Aiza Seguerra) Maya’s sister, also let the cat out of the bag as she admits to Jeff (Tom Rodriguez) that Cho (JM Bañez) is their son.  The episode airs September 7 worldwide (September 8 in Australia, Guam, New Zealand and Japan).

Ser Chief and Maya week 2LR

An exciting follow-up awaits viewers as Maya collapses from over fatigue and Ser Chief comes to her aid.  Meantime, in the same episode airing September 14 (September 15 in Australia, Guam, New Zealand and Japan) Jeff and Kute admit to Cho that the former is the child’s real father.

Kute and Cho week 3LR

On the third week of “Be Careful With My Heart’s” sub-titled version, Maya, Abby, Luke and Kute mark milestones.  Maya’s attempt to avoid Ser Chief faces a stumbling block as Ser Chief assigns all concerns about Abby to Maya.  In a surprising turn of events, Abby talks in her sleep and Maya tries to force her ward to do the same in front of the household.  Meantime, Maya and Luke score high in their exams while Kute also makes progress as she starts walking without crutches.  The episode airs September 21 (September 22 in Australia, Guam, New Zealand and Japan).

Finally on September 28 (September 29 in Australia, Guam, New Zealand and Japan), Ser Chief makes a directive for the entire household to refrain from forcing Abby to speak again.  Later, the head of the Lim household decides to look over Abby while asleep in anticipation of the possibility of her daughter speaking again.  Ser Chief and Maya, as the household employee now fully responsible for Abby, are thrown yet again in a situation that will bring them closer together.

Watch “Be Careful With My Heart’s” sub-titled version as the episodes get more exciting on TFC, Saturdays (Sundays in Australia, Guam, New Zealand and Japan) worldwide.  Catch the well-loved series online, anytime on TFC’s official online service TFC.tv.  Connect with fellow global Kapamilyas at www.facebook.com/KapamilyaTFC

Chef Sandy gets his hands on Manang Glory's famous empanada

Chef Sandy Daza lets his hunger take him places…

A brand new adventure is about to take place for Chef Sandy Daza, as he takes viewers along in circling the Philippines to encounter the best local culinary delights in the Lifestyle Network’s newest travelogue, “FoodPrints”, which is set to premiere this Saturday (September 21).

His first quest takes him to the northernmost tip of Luzon, landing him in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. Join Chef Sandy as he goes straight to the best places to get to know a region’s food culture, setting himself right in the middle of the hubbub of the busy Laoag Sunday market. There, he familiarizes himself with the tastes and cravings of the Ilocano people—taking on the famous Ilocos empanada, bagnet with KBL (kamatis, bagoong Balayan and lasona), and pinakbet. He even goes into the debate between Batac and Laoag longganisa, and visits the man who is known to have revolutionized Ilocano cuisine.

Meanwhile, in another locally-produced show, the Lifestyle Network’s “Curiosity Got the Chef” features the quirky Chef Sharwin Tee as he sets meat aside for a while, declaring a meat-free zone. Taking a leap of faith to see if he can make things greener on his side of the fence, Chef Sharwin is out to prove that a dish can be as rich and flavorful, even in the absence of bacon and the rest of its meaty relatives. Cooking up Veggie Hash and a 6-Minute Egg, Mucver with Spicy Sour Cream, Roasted Squash and Coconut Risotto, and Malted Choco Butter Pinipig Bites, Chef Sharwin makes vegetarian delight grow in all the right directions.

Don’t miss out on the Lifestyle Network’s best locally-produced shows, as  “FoodPrints” premieres on Saturday (September 21) at 8:30 p.m., with replays on Sundays at 3:00 p.m., Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m., and Fridays at 2:00 p.m., and “Curiosity Got the Chef” airs on Wednesday (September 18) at 9:30 p.m. For more details, visit and like the Lifestyle Network on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LifestyleNetwork.

TFC UNVEILS ITS THIRD OFFERING FOR NON-FILIPINO SPEAKING VIEWERS THIS SEPTEMBER

    September 24, 2013 3:19 pm

Bea Alonzo episode 1

After translating two of its most enduring drama and comedy programs for the enjoyment of its non-Filipino speaking viewers worldwide, the premier Filipino network in the world, The Filipino Channel (TFC) now brings the subtitled version of one of the most iconic series on Philippine television, “Magkaribal.”  In its continued thrust to deliver the best of Philippine content to the widest audience, “TFC Subtitled Classics” premieres “Magkaribal” top-billed by two equally notable actresses – blockbuster actress Bea Alonzo and award-winning actress Gretchen Barretto, on September 29 (September 28 in the Middle East) worldwide.

According to Global Content Management and Operations Group Head for ABS-CBN Global Ltd. Ned Legaspi, “When we launched TFC’s sub-titled series, “MMK Classics” was the perfect choice because it tells of the stories of overseas Filipinos (OFs) whom we want to reach with this kind of content.  In our second offering, we thought it fitting to make a follow-through with another program that resonated well with OFs – ‘Be Careful With My Heart.’  Now as we go into our third offering, we chose “Magkaribal” because like “TFC’s Sub-titled Classics,” the show truly made a mark not just for Filipinos in the Philippines but also for critics overseas.

In the New York Festivals TV and Film Awards in 2011, “Magkaribal” clinched a finalist slot in the Best Telenovela category.  In the Gawad Tanglaw Awards, the series won in the Best Drama category during the same year.  On top of the recognition the show received, the characters’ tongue-in-cheek verbal exchanges were widely discussed and shared in social media during its first run.

Kathryn Bernardo episode 1

“Magkaribal’s” subtitled version’s opening salvo unfolds with the story of Ana (played by Kathryn Bernardo and eventually by Barretto) and Angela (played by Barbie Sabino and eventually by Alonzo), sisters who are woven together not only by birth right but also by their mother’s (Dimples Romana) skill in sewing.

Bea Alonzo week 3

The sisters and their mother are left by their father Manuel (James Blanco) to seek a better life overseas only for them to find out that he has acquired a mistress, a model named Vera (Alessandra de Rossi), in Rome.  In a tragic turn of events, their mother dies after a confrontation with Vera.

Left orphaned by a mother who died and by a father who left them for another woman, Ana and Angela lead their lives on their own until social workers try to bring them under their care.  They run off to the city where Angela falls ill and Ana resorts to desperate measures to save her sister’s life. The two are separated when a fire ensues at the hospital. Believing that her sister died from the fire, Ana’s desire to take revenge on Vera ignites.

Gretchen week2

She gets the attention of a gay benefactor (Allan Paule) who renames her as Victoria Valera.  Meantime, Angela finds herself in the clutches of a criminal syndicate until a kind man named Hermes (John Arcilla) takes her in.  The first episode ends with Angela (now called Gelay) living in the streets of Divisoria as a budding seamstress, hopeful of becoming part of Vera Couture.

As the Vera-headed Fashion Designers’ Guild of the Philippines’ (FDGP) new billboard is unveiled, Gelay’s dream to become a designer comes to fruition as she becomes part of Vera couture on the second week of “Magkaribal’s” subtitled version on October 6 (October 5 in the Middle East).  Like a fish out of water, Gelay struggles to fit into the high-end world of fashion.  Despite her stature as a newbie designer, Gelay’s creation gets chosen for a fashion show, Tug-of-War’s, finale.  Meantime, the war rages for Victoria and Vera, seemingly becoming the worst rivals in the industry as the fashion show draws near.  Vera, in a desperate attempt to unseat Victoria, taps her employee to spy on her rival and gets wind of her affair with Louie (Derek Ramsey), a struggling boxer.

Angel Aquino week2

The excitement reaches high levels as Louie accepts Vera’s deceptive suggestion to offer Victoria a rose on fashion night which embarrasses Victoria.  In this third episode airing October 13 (October 12 in the Middle East), Gelay, like her fashion creation, gets thrown into the spotlight as the model tasked to wear her finale piece fails to show up.  However, Gelay also fails to finish the walk and gets fired by Vera.  Manuel comes to her defense, not knowing that the junior designer is, in fact, his estranged daughter.

Bea Alonzo and Derek Ramsey week4

In the October 20 (October 19 in the Middle East) episode, Louie and Gelay are forced into a situation and develop a budding friendship.  Gelay successfully encourages Louie, already dissuaded to continue his career, to pursue a boxing match.  Chloe, Vera’s daughter played by Erich Gonzales talks to her mother because of the undue pressure she is receiving as the fashion icon’s daughter which drove her to steal Gelay’s designs in the past.

Erich Gonzales week 3

The competition between Vera and Victoria and between Gelay and Chloe heats up as the quest for revenge intensifies and the stories intertwine on TFC’s third subtitled series -  “Magkaribal.”  Witness the episodes unfold online, anytime on TFC’s official service – TFC.tv starting September 28 (September 29 in the Middle East).  Connect with fellow Kapamilyas worldwide on www.facebook.com/KapamilyaTFC

Not a fan of Magkaribal after ASAP. They really should just stick it on Cinema One Global or BRO, why doesn't it need to be stuck in that timeslot?

Yeah... it is definitely a little painful to watch... and so is BCWMH rewind. I would rather have the FPJ movie block on TFC itself and not BRO, and it would be a treat for those like me who do not get the extra ANC, CIN1, BRO channels etc. The only subtitled program that is okay to keep is the MMK Classics.

I seriously don't care to see Magkaribal with subtitles in the LUV U timeslot. Does anyone really care? Can't they put this on one of the other Kapamilya Channels?

CINEMA ONE GLOBAL CELEBRATES A DECADE OF MOVIE MILESTONES AND INDUSTRY MOVERS

    May 21, 2014 12:34 pm
    admin

Cinema One Global, one of the most watched channels on TFC’s platforms across the world, draws the curtain for its 10th year celebrations, marked by a new on-air look and featuring iconic movies and personalities of their time, this June.

Cinema One Global, the international version of the number one cable channel in the Philippines (based on Kantar Media), launched its own signal and programming to serve the more discerning needs of overseas Filipinos (OFs), longing for a taste of home through film and the companionship of Kapamilya stars in 2004.  Cinema One Global, true to its claim “Kung Saan Ikaw Ang Bida,” launched a new programming to become a movie and drama channel, and included more movie choices, a marathon of widely watched Filipino teleseryes and reruns of well-loved drama series, to address more of OFs’ needs.

Now on its 10th year of ‘storytelling’ through film, Cinema One Global unveils its new look with a tagline fitting of its promise to adapt to the journey and changing needs of its OF viewers – “Saan Ka Man, Laging Kang Kasama.”
According to Ned Legaspi, head of Global Content, “As TFC celebrates 20 years of the ‘galing ng Filipino’ and Cinema One marks 20 years of service in the Philippines, we also mark a decade of stories and people in film which and who, together with Cinema One Global, has made an impact in the life of Filipinos detached from home.  Our tagline speaks of our commitment to be that indispensable part of the path they chose.”
To date, Cinema One Global continues to have the biggest library of films with 3,500 movies which include the exclusive rights to air the blockbuster movies of ABS-CBN Corporation movie production and distribution company, Star Cinema.  Cinema One Global’s offering also includes the most celebrated films from other movie outfits such as Viva Films, Octo Arts, Seiko Films, Regal Films and more.

To stay true to its anniversary promise, Cinema One Global now offers Filipino movies that speak of the Filipino story and spirit.

A Mother's StoryMR
Filipino Heroes
In line with TFC’s 20th year celebrating the “galing ng Filipino (forge ahead with the greatness of the Filipino),” Cinema One Global will retell the stories of heroes of their own time, through history and across the distance through its weekly blocks Bayani, Team Makabayan, and Mga Bagong Bayani.  These remarkable films include: “El Presidente and “Tirad Pass;”  “Dekada ’70” and “Eskapo,” and “Dubai,” and the TFC-produced “A Mother’s Story,” featuring Pokwang and directed by esteemed director John-D Lazatin.

Four Sisters and A WeddingMR
“Red Carpet Premiere”
Also highlighting its anniversary line-up is the television premiere of 2013 hit “Four Sisters And A Wedding (June 7),” Cinema One Festivals 2011 finalist “Di Ingon, Nato” or Not Like Us (June 14),” breakthrough movie “Tuhog” (June 21) and independent film “Isda (June 28).

Himala
“Obra Ni Direk”
As a fitting offering for ten years of Cinema One Global and consistent with TFC’s theme of “forging ahead with the greatness of the Filipino,” five of the finest films in Philippine history are brought back for contemporary audiences to enjoy: respected director, the late Lino Brocka’s Maynila Sa Kuko ng Liwanag,” “Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang,” and multi-awarded director Mike de Leon’s “Sister Stella L,”  including digitally restored “Himala,” and “Oro, Plata, Mata,” directed by two of the greatest directors: Brocka and Peque Gallaga.
Oro, Plata, Mata

Filipino Movie Icons
Cinema One Global is also bringing back the most respected names in the film industry and their most celebrated movies: Da King Fernando Poe Jr., Comedy King Dolphy, Bad Boy of Philippine Cinema Robin Padilla and more.

“Kilig Block”
Aside from Philippine icons, Cinema One Global is also bringing back the most widely followed love teams of their time in their most memorable films: Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz in “Now That I Have You,” Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu “I’ve Fallen For You,” Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta in “Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit,” and Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion in “Dear Heart.”

Sisterakas
Blockbuster Nights
Through its new segment “Blockbuster Nights,” Cinema One Global is sure to draw the audience once again with the worldwide television airing of movies which topped the box office: “Feng Shui,” No Other Woman,” “Sisterakas,” and “You Changed My Life.”

Like a movie reel, Cinema One Global’s stories and characters seem as endless as its dedication to provide movie fans and Filipino audiences with tales of the Filipino spirit and greatness in the decades to come.

Cinema One Global is available via internet protocol television (IPTV), satellite, cable and online though the worldwide subsidiaries and affiliates of ABS-CBN Corporation.

ABS-CBN's graphics department needs serious work. They should solely broadcast these Facebook/Twitter/Instagram promotions on an overlay so TFC doesn't need to see these. Speaking of graphics... when is HD coming to the Philippines? :P

ASAP sa LA sinugod ng 12,000 fans

 (Pilipino Star Ngayon) | Updated October 19, 2014 - 12:00am

Mapapanood worldwide ang ASAP Live in LA ngayong October 19 at 26.

Instead of actual subtitles embedded into the program, wouldn't closed captions work too? Not sure how CC works for all cable providers, but at least it could give viewers a way to toggle on/off subtitles when needed. And ever since the transition, I've noticed a decrease in most of the programs' picture quality, especially It's Showtime. Hopefully there are still improvements to the system, but so far it was pretty good. I personally liked watching #MMKClosure last night with subtitles.

Its so obnoxious now that I don't even want to turn on TFC. The screen gets covered with words when I just want to see the actors or individuals do their thing, gawd!

We need a Tagalog closed caption option instead of this TFC FORCED subtitling!

“OOH LA LAM” GETS READY FOR SECOND SEASON ON TFC

    March 5, 2015 at 2:55 pm

(http://abscbnpr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Eugene-Libadia-of-Engineering-with-Chef-Ron-at-the-taping-of-one-of-the-new-episodes-of-the-popular-chooking-show-on-TFC.jpg)

SERIOUS OR FUN?  “Seriously fun” with exciting recipe twists and surprises! That’s the spirit of the second season of Ooh La Lam  to be aired soon only on TFC on Sundays, 5:45pm Pacific.  With very successful Chicago-based private chef and TV host Ron Bilaro, fans look forward to learning how to prepare traditional Filipino cuisine such as adobo, pinangat, tinola, and the like with a modern twist.  The show is intended for anyone who wants to elevate their most basic Filipino culinary skills and advance to cooking these dishes with a more global appeal.

More than just your ordinary cooking show, though, Ooh La Lam is packed with easy-to-follow recipes, useful tips, trivia, even a cultural lesson or two.  The host-chef shares his experiences while growing up in the Pasig City and the Bicol region in the Philippines and shows how these memories become an integral ingredient in forming his recipes.

Bilaro was born and raised in the Philippines.  His family immigrated to the United States when he was in his teens. He started working as a flight attendant but after 9/11, he wound up as one of the most successful graduates of the Le Cordon Bleu program of The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.  His list of clientele includes prominent families and corporations in the Windy City and the West Coast.

Aside from hosting “Eat and Ron” on TFC, a culinary adventure across America, Bilaro is working on his second recipe book “Cooking Privately with Chef Ron Bilaro”. This will be his first e-Book. His first book was published in 2009 and was sold out.  Bilaro is also currently one of the celebrity friends of the Ronald McDonald House Charities which promotes the welfare of children around the world and is an active supporter of Gawad Kalinga (“Give Care”), an anti-poverty movement in the Philippines and other developing countries.  Bilaro hosted his first TV program “Life Pinoy Style”, a cooking and lifestyle show from 2006–2011 and was a food columnist for The Chicago Tribune (Dishing with Ron Bilaro) from 2004 to 2007 which also appeared at The Baltimore Sun and Sun Sentinel of South Florida.  He worked a sous chef to Chef Art Smith, personal chef to Oprah from 2003 to 2005.

MANILA - Swiss-Filipino actress Sarah Lahbati is open to moving to ABS-CBN.

In an interview on "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," the 21-year-old Lahbati, who is currently being managed by Viva, said that she is not closing any doors for a possible transfer to the Kapamilya network.

"Well you know what Tito Boy, it was an amazing experience 'yung first time ko sa ASAP," she said of her appearance on the noontime variety show last Sunday. (WATCH: Sarah Lahbati performs on 'ASAP')

"But kung ano man po ang opportunity na dumating, open-minded po ako na tanggapin 'yun at mag-work," she added.

Lahbati also talked about the new season of "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez," which currently airs on both E! Channel and TFC. Sarah is the partner of Richard Gutierrez, whom she has a child with.

"Actually maraming eksena na makikita samin nila Richard at Zion na hindi nakikita samin. You know like sa buhay namin like candid moments, fun moments, sad moments and troubles," she teased.

Anyone mad that UKG is no longer live on ANC and instead we get the ANC Mornings show with Gretchen, Ginger and some other guys? Bring back UKG LIVE!

This has happened before in the past with TFC and UKG on ANC.

And, to add, TFC removing Kapamilya Deal or No Deal for no apparent reason. Can't find it on the TV listings at all and it's now a broken link on TFC.tv... :(

Maybe it was an issue with DOND international airing rights like PBB.

I don't watch TNT either, ehhh.
