Jed Madela Releases Debut Album Under Star Records

World singing champion Jed Madela feels nothing but excitement about the launch of his debut album titled “All Original” released by his new recording label Star Records.

“It’s my first full project with Star Records, it is also my first all-original album,” said Jed. “We have put so much work into it that the very moment I heard the final tracks, I am already looking forward to sharing it with everyone who has been supporting my music.”

“All Original” features songs, which according to Jed, are new and far from usual. “Everything sounds different and the songs express different feelings. Actually, each one can be a potential single on its own,” said Jed, who is set to celebrate later this year his 10th anniversary in the music industry. “Of course, the signature ‘high note ballads’ wil be in the album but there are tracks that will make the listeners wonder if it is really me singing.”

True to its title, Jed’s first album under Star Records features 10 original tracks including his carrier single “Ikaw Na,” composed by Soc Villanueva; “Wish,” composed by Jonathan Manalo and co-written with Garlic Garcia; “When Love Once Was Beautiful,” composed by Genevieve ‘Biv’ De Vera and Raizo Chabeldin; “Dito Lang,” composed by Francis ‘Kiko’ Salazar; ”Ipinapangako Ko,” composed by Christian Martinez; “Sa Habang Buhay,” composed by Wilson John Escaner; “Dalangin Ko,” composed, arranged, produced, recorded, mixed and Mastered by Jimmy Antiporda; “Will Forever,” composed by Jungee Marcelo; “Home To You,” composed by Trina Belamide; and Jed’s very own composition titled “Tanging ikaw.” The album also contains bonus mixes of ‘Wish’ and ‘Dito Lang.’

Apart from his latest album, the first Filipino champion of the prestigious World Championship of the Performing Arts (WCOPA) shares another milestone to his career as he was recently hailed as the first Filipino to be inducted into the Performing Arts Hall of Fame in Hollywood. Jed is the first Grand Champion Performer of the World to be awarded the treasured Achievement Award and inducted into the elite Performing Arts Hall of Fame that will have a live worldwide webcast on July 19.

Jed’s “All Original” album will be launched in “ASAP 18″ this Sunday (March 3) and will soon be available on record bars nationwide for only P350.

PEPtalk. Yeng Constantino concludes issue about her sexuality: “Hindi po ako tomboy! Sobrang straight ako and very secured ako with who I am."

Demai: Hello, there and welcome to another episode of PEPtalk.

I’m sure naalala ninyong lahat ang kantang “Hawak Kamay.” Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to PEPtalk, Ms. Yeng Constantino!"

Yeng: "Thank you, thank you! It’s really an honor to be here dahil nung last time nga, nakita ko si Daniel [Padilla] so… ‘Hi, sa ‘yo Daniel.’"

Demai: Paramdam agad, ha? So dahil dumadaan tayo diyan sa paramdam levels na ‘yan at dahil kakatapos lang ng Valentine’s Day, sisimulan ka namin with this question… Kamusta ang love life ni Yeng Constantino?

LOVE LIFE. Ang sagot ng singer, “Okay naman siya. Sa pagkakaalam ko, wala pa ring pagbabago.

“Pero siyempre, alam mo yun, I am 24 years old.

Pabirong hirit ni Yeng, “Come on, guys!”

Dagdag pa niya, “Kasi parang mas naging open lang ako magpaligaw unlike before. Siguro, masyado pa akong bata, feeling ko, ang dami ko pang dapat gawin and ang laki ng pangarap ko for OPM.

“Na hindi ko muna yun pina-prioritize this year parang mas naging open lang ako na siguro it’s about time na maging open na ako.”

Demai: Pero ‘tong past six or seven years kasi, parang walang talagang na-link sa ’yo na matagal unlike before nung nakasama mo sa PDA, si Rj [Jimenez]. Wala bang umakyat ng ligaw sa ’yo during that time?

Ang paniniwala ni Yeng, “If you really love me, I know that you will wait.

“Parang dun yung basehan ko, e.

“Ngayon sa heart ko, parang naniniwala ako na parang there will be one person who will wait for me and who will love me kung sino ako, yung kaya ko maging ako sa harap niya.”

IDEAL MAN.

“If that person loves God, kahit loves God more than me, e... And he will know how to love me kasi, lagot siya kay God, e.

“When he is close to God, matatakot siyang saktan ako kasi God will tell him, ‘Uy, that’s bad!’”

“I will get what I want so I want a person who will understand that.

“Hindi ako parang ma-a-under pero hindi ko rin naman siya i-a-under kasi I will respect him naman for who he is.

At tinuloy niyang muli ang sagot sa tanong, “Basta yung kaya kong maging ako, I can be a strong woman, I can be a lady din sa harapan niya para maintindihan niya ako.

Demai: Pero physical attributes, meron ba?

“Actually yung song na ‘yan from my Metamorphosis album... Nga pala, this is my fifth album and I’m really excited sa album na ‘to.

“That time, may crush akong guy na chinito... parang wow!”

Rommel: Yung kasing “B.A.B.A.Y,” ang ganda, may hope. Lahat ng bata, nakakakanta, nakakasabay kasi may sinabi ka noon sa press con na parang kanta mo yun for a friend of yours na in love na pala sa’yo nang hindi mo alam 'tapos ikaw, mahal na mahal mo rin siya, so sino yung kaibigan mo na yun?

Patawang sagot niya, “Kailangan may pangalan talaga?

So ano ba yun? Linawin mo nga yung closeness niyo.

HINDI AKO TOMBOY! Paglinaw ng Kapamilya singer, “She’s my spiritual mentor.
“She’s the one guiding me sa spiritual walk ko with the Lord. Siya yung… there’s a verse in the Bible, ‘There will be a friend that will stick to you more than a brother,’  nandiyan yung kapatid ko... Hindi ko sinasabing mas close kami…"

Rommel: Parang naluluha, e…

“Bro, I’m sorry!
“She helped me to really grow in my walk kaya siya yun. Pero ano ba ‘yan! Paano nachi-chika?”

“Sobrang straight ako and very secured ako with who I am.
“So siguro nakita nila na strong yung personality, kailangan lang nila ma-open yung mind nila with different kinds of women, hindi lahat pareho.

“I know my battle, and I am fighting for OPM, so kailangan ako maging strong.
“Hindi ako puwedeng petiks lang. If I have a vision then I would have to do something about it. Hindi pupuwede yung if it will happen, it will happen.'
“Hindi, e! Paano pala kung hinihintay ka pala ni God to step and move forward para mangyari yung bagay na gagawin mo?
“I think ganun lang talaga, ganun akong klase ng person, and I am very secured nga in who I am.

“She left the band because she felt that God is moving her to a different direction... that she is becoming a preacher to the young women and helping the church.
"So parang ako, ‘Wow! You’re living a dream and then for you to have that heart
na, 'Sige, iwanan ko ‘tong lahat because I want to serve God,' sobra yun!”
and that’s what she did.

‘no? Panis!

Hirit ni Yeng, “I’ll pray over you..”

Demai: Pero na-mention mo yung fight for OPM and, of course, sa OPM, gaya ng

Yeng Constantino, Honorary Licentiate Awardee In Singapore
By: Rowena Joy A. Sanchez

Weeks after releasing her fifth album “Metamorphosis,” Yeng Constantino received an Honorary Licentiate Award from the Academy of Rock (AOR) in Singapore on March 1.

The Rock Princess herself attended the graduation ceremonies. One of her earlier hits, “Salamat,” will be part of the school’s syllabus according to Star Magic, which co-manages her career.

In a Facebook photo that shows Yeng in full graduation attire, the singer-songwriter related feeling “blessed” by this latest achievement.

Her participation at the AOR festivities continued on March 2 when she served as special guest at the “Rock With Heart – Up Where We Belong: The Charity Rock Concert of 2013!” held at The Star Theater.

Organized for and by students of AOR – which specializes in popular and rock music – part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the construction of houses for typhoon victims in Davao Oriental.

A number of fans uploaded videos of Yeng’s performances on YouTube. Her set was going well – having performed Irene Cara’s “Fame” as well as “Salamat” which were both met with cheers – until she introduced her third song “B.A.B.A.Y.” A member of the production team approached Yeng onstage, after which she revealed to the audience that the CD containing the track won’t play. Although a bit saddened by the glitch, Yeng rose to the occasion, borrowed a guitar, and performed “Hawak Kamay,” her first ever single.

As a message of inspiration to aspiring musicians, Yeng related that she’s a firm believer in the saying that “if you find a job that you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

“I’ve been singing since I was young. That’s what I want to do. I wanna be on stage and sing in front of people so I’m living my dream. Just follow your heart. If you love what you do, you’ll see it unfold before your eyes, it’s going to happen,” she said.

Yeng Constantino has a new look, sound
By Allan Policarpio
Philippine Daily Inquirer

Yeng Constantino has come a long way—music and style-wise—since bursting onto the scene in 2006. Watching her perform during her recent album launch, it’s quite hard to imagine that this sleek, red-haired performer onstage used to be the dowdy young lass inside the “Pinoy Dream Academy” house.

While her music retained the pop-rock vibe of her past work, Yeng’s new songs “B.A.B.A.Y.,” “’Di Pa Huli,” “Hahanapin Kita,” “Josephine” and “Sandata” sound noticeably funkier with trippy synths and touches of electronica.

New 10-track record

These are just five of the nine songs Yeng composed for her new 10-track record aptly titled “Metamorphosis” (Star Records).

After six years in the industry, Yeng said it’s about time she explored new things. And while admittedly daunted by experimenting with her music, the singer-songwriter acknowledged that there’s no other way for her to move forward than step into the unknown.

“I took it as a challenge and as an adventure. I really wanted to impart something new to the listeners and not do the same things over and over again,” she told the Inquirer. “I’m really excited. I believe that if the artist is excited, the fans will feel the same way.”

Yeng related that her reinvention of sorts was inspired by pop icon Madonna and rocker friend Raimund Marasigan, who also produced her album. “Madonna changes her image with every album she releases. I also admire Kuya Raimund, who isn’t afraid to go out of the box and come up with new sounds,” she said.

She continued: “I don’t want to limit myself. I’ll go where my music takes me.”

The 24-year-old musician is still uncertain on how to describe her new sound. Anyway, it’s more about enjoying the music than defining it, she pointed out.

More than the technical side of making music, Yeng said  the most important piece of advice given to her by Raimund, who she considers her mentor and biggest music influence, “is being true to yourself.”

“I used to think that my compositions were corny, so I was really embarrassed to show them to him,” she related. “But Kuya Raimund would push me and say, ‘Mas corny ’yung nagpapanggap (Being pretentious is more corny).’ As long as you’re sincere with what you do, just go for it.”

Yeng also found out that everything doesn’t have to be perfect when it comes to recording songs. All the vocals in her new album, she said, were recorded in one go so the songs won’t sound “too manufactured.”

“I freaked out because I wasn’t used to it. But Kuya Raimund said he wanted the raw emotions to pierce through. And listening to the album, I think I’ll have to agree!” Yeng said.

Aside from Raimund, another musician who helped a lot in her songwriting was famed composer Vehnee Saturno. Since she wasn’t formally trained in guitar, Yeng admitted that her knowledge of chord progressions was limited, which, in turn, hampered her range in songwriting.

“Sir Vehnee told me to try creating songs without the guitar; just let the melodies fly. It worked for me,” she said.

Living the dream

As a child, all Yeng ever wanted was to perform onstage. And now she’s living the dream. “I record albums, I do s hows and I’m able to talk with legends of Filipino music as if they were my friends. It’s an amazing feeling,” she said.

And while her singing career made her financially stable, Yeng stressed that no amount of money can match the feeling of seeing people sing her songs back to her. “I love sharing my music. And it makes me want to cry when I see people relate to my music,” she said.

Asked what other things she wants to pursue in the future, Yeng said: “I want to learn how to dance hip-hop. I also want to try theater someday. But right now, honestly, there’s nothing more I can ask for.”

The two have the ma-kings of a love team, should they be teamed up in a movie or TV series kaya.

The two talents we are referring to are Marion Aunor and Wynn Andrada who were both contestants sa katatapos lang na Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs. Both sung their own compositions during the finals na ginanap sa SMX arena.

Marion’s entry, If You Ever Change Your Mind was named third placer.

The top prize, we all know, was the song Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa and was interpreted by Aiza Seguerra.

The composer of the song is Joven Tan na dating publisher ng mga fan mags at ngayo’y indie director na. Nanalo siya ng P2M.

Na-compile na lahat ng 12 songs na ito sa isang CD ng Star Records na may pamagat na Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs at on sale na in all record bars.

The other songs, aside from Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa, If You Ever Change Your Mind and Tamang Panahon, contained in the CD are Alaala by Ma. Fe Mechenetter Piaga, Melvin Huwervana at Joel Jabot, Jr. ng Iloilo; Hanggang Wakas ni Soc Villanueva (Australia); Kahit Na ni Julius James de Belen (Quezon City); Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat ni Jungee Marcelo (Pasig City); One Day ni Agatha Obar Morellos (Baguio City); Puwede Bang Ako Na Lang Ulit ni Jeffrey Cifra (Cavite); Sana’y Magbalik ni Arman Alferez (Caloocan City); Scared to Death ni Domingo Rosco, Jr. (Bohol) and This Song Is For You ni Jude Gitamondoc (Cebu City).

* * *

Speaking of Marion, if her surname, Aunor, sounds familiar, it is because in real life she is the niece of Superstar Nora Aunor.

Her mom, Maribel (Aunor), a former singer and occasional actress-turned-businesswoman is a cousin of Nora.

Wynn, on the other hand, is reportedly related naman kay Louie Andrada, producer of most of the talk shows sa ABS-CBN.

Ser Chief Richard Yap Releases Debut Album under Star Records

Posted on September 21, 2013 | 9:04 AM

Be Careful With My Heart lead actor Richard Yap, who is well known by TV viewers as ‘Ser Chief,’ is thrilled over the launch of his first-ever recording album under Star Records.

“It is a dream-come-true because I’ve always wanted to sing since I was a kid,” said the other half of the ‘Ser Chief-Maya’ (Jodi Sta. Maria) love team. “I am thankful to our teleserye because through our official soundtrack, people discovered that I can sing.”

Ser Chief Richard Yap Releases Self-titled Debut Album under Star Records

The actor shared that his self-titled debut album is just like their TV series–a feel-good, easy listening collection of tracks composed of nine revivals that were all chosen by ‘Ser Chief’ himself. The carrier single of the album is “Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say.”

“It covers all genres, from pop to ballad to alternative, appealing not only to music fans in my age group but also to the teens and in-betweens,” said Richard, who stressed that his album is entirely different from “Be Careful With My Heart” album. “This is very special for me because I put a lot of hard work in it so that we could come up with something that’s really worth paying for. I’m hoping that all of my supporters will love it too.”

Richard, who grew up listening to the music of Queen, Barry Manilow, Kenny Rogers, Hall and Oates, Phil Collins, and Mike Francis, feels no pressure getting compared with other talented singers in the country.

“I don’t think there’s a need to compare because we have different musical choices and different target audiences,” he explained.

Featured in Richard’s solo debut album under Star Records are revivals of “Promise Ain’t Enough,” “Think I’m In Love Again,” “Can Find No Reason,” “You Take My Breath Away,” “Chasing Cars,” “High,” “Afterglow,” and the Chinese version of “Oh Babe.” The album also carries the bonus tracks “Please Be Careful With My Heart” and “Salamat.”

Richard’s first album is now available at all record bars nationwide for only P250. Digital tracks can also be downloaded via Amazon.com, Mymusicstore.com.ph and iTunes. For more information visit Star Records’ Facebook fan page at facebook.com/starrecordsphil or follow @starrecordsph on Twitter.

Tanong ko lang dito sa aritcle.... when they say "Tomboy"  do they mean to say Lesbian?
