Direk Wenn retains Maria

* * *

Instead, words coming from the camp of blockbuster director Wenn Deramas confirmed report that the film Maricel will do for him as director will push through.

Titled Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy, the movie na co-production between Star Cinema and Viva Films ay pagbibidahan din ni Vice Ganda. First time din maididirek ni Wenn si Maricel sa pelikula.

Direk Wenn, in interviews, have always been opened about his admiration for Maricel as an actress.

He wanted to work with her. Kaya nga daw when the fiasco involving Maricel at sa kanyang pagka-pull out sa Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin came, ang unang tanong ni Maricel kay Direk Wenn when he called for a meeting with her: “Pati ba ikaw, bibitawan mo na rin ako?”

Vice Ganda, Maricel to team up for new film

MANILA, Philippines -- Vice Ganda will portray four characters in an upcoming comedy film co-starring Maricel Soriano and Gabby Concepcion.

Following the blockbuster success of "Sisterakas" and "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin," Vice Ganda and director Wenn V Deramas will work together anew for "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy."

The Viva Films production will see the first team-up of the "It's Showtime" host and Soriano.

Eh noon ko pa 'yun wini-wish eh," Vice Ganda told ABS-CBN News on Tuesday.

The comedian-host related that he had been asked in an earlier interview on what he wants to achieve in his career.

Referring to his four characters in the movie, Vice Ganda said his roles "Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy" may be his most challenging to date.

Gusto ko pag girl ako, bigyan sana nila ako ng time magpapayat ulit, para mukhang babae," he said.

According to Vice Ganda, Soriano and Concepcion will play his parents in the movie.

"Pinangarap ko 'to, pinagdasal ko 'tong pelikulang ito, kaya gagalingan ko," the comedian-host said.

The big screen project, which is set to start filming on February 12, comes after a recent controversy involving Soriano and actor Gerald Anderson.

Last week, reports on Soriano's alleged outburst on the set of the upcoming drama series "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" circulated online.

Soriano's manager and ABS-CBN -- which is producing the TV series -- have since decided to exclude the "Diamond Star" from the cast. Actress Dawn Zulueta will replace Soriano in the project.

Commenting on the controversy, Vice Ganda said, "Lahat naman tayo, lahat naman ng tao, marami pang pagkakataong darating pa.

Vice has no time for Maricel’s movie
Written by : Nel Alejandrino

Marami daw kasing commitments for a concert abroad si Vice which is understandable nga naman dahil summer vacation.

Meanwhile, did we hear it right na eager to work na sana si Claudine Barreto but walang projects available for her?

Like Maricel, under contract din sa Viva Films si Claudine.

sana matuloy ang movie na pagsasamahan nina Maricel Soriano, Gabby Concepcion and Vice Ganda.... I think it's fun to watch them in the big screen.

Oh I like that idea na isama si Angelica Panganiban dito...

There are some news floating na baka unahin ang Maricel-Uge dahil may summer shows si Vice abroad?

    Friday, April 19, 2013, 0:08
    Ayaw Paawat

“Naantala ‘yung ‘Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy’. So, nagtrabaho ako sa Sky Light.”

I know, ‘yun talaga ang kanyang rason, may nagawa sana akong paraan,nag-adjust sana ako.

MMFF ANNOUNCES 8 OFFICIAL ENTRIES

THE eight official entries to the December Metro Manila Filmfest chosen by their screening committee will officially be announced tomorrow. A total of 15 scripts were submitted, which means 7 of these will be dumped.

Last year was a turning point for the perennial entries of Vic Sotto and Bong Revilla, “Enteng Kabisote” and “Agimat.” Their combined forces was only number 3 to “Sisterakas” and “One More Try.” The same goes for “Shake, Rattle & Roll 14,” which didn’t do as well as expected so Regal Entertainment producer Mother Lily Monteverde has laid it to rest.

Since ABS-CBN has proven their strength at the box office with their filmfest entries, our guess is that all their entries will be accepted in the festival this year. This is headed by the film version of their hit morning soap that must have a pre-sold audience, “Be Careful with My Heart,” with Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. Then their co-production with Viva Entertainment, “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy,” topbilled by Vice Ganda, Maricel Soriano and Gabby Concepcion. Then their co-prod with Vic Sotto’s M-Zet, “Tork and My Little Bossing,” starring Ryza Mae Dizon, Kris Aquino and her son Bimby.  Then there’s their co-prod with Regal Entertainment, the horror flick “Pagpag” starring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

The other entries most likely to be chosen would be those of Sen. Bong Revilla and Laguna Gov. ER Estregan, who are both “suki” in the festival. Bong’s entry is an action-comedy with Toni Gonzaga, “My Super Kap,” while ER Estregan’s story is another true to life story of a hoodlum, “Boy Golden.” Robin Padilla has two entries, “10,000 Hours” and “Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak” (formerly “Kuratong Baleleng”), but only one of these will be accepted.

So that’s four from Star Cinema, one from Bong, one from ER and one from Robin, making it a total of 7. Only one more movie will be accepted and this would be coming from the following entries: “Ibong Adarna” with Rocco Nacino and Angel Aquino, “Everybody Loves” with Jake Cuenca, Jericho Rosales and Megan Young, “Kimmy Dora prequel” with Piolo Pascual and Eugene Domingo, “Kulay Abo ang Langit” with Carla Abellana and Diether Ocampo, “Kaleidoscope World” with Sef Cadayona and Yassi Pressman, “San Pedro Calungsod” with JM de Guzman and “Hope in a Bottle” with Ruffa Gutierrez, Maja Salvador and Angeline Quinto. So who do you think will make it to the magic eight? If Spring Films wouldn’t withdraw, then the Piolo-Eugene might be it, but we heard they’re having second thoughts. The other entries just lack star power so it’s anybody’s guess who’ll be the luckiest one among them.
