The UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2013 will happen Sunday, September 15 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena. One of the biggest event in UAAP, 2013 Cheerdance Competition will see another breath-taking performances and never-before-seen stunts from the 8 participating schools.


UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2013 Live on September 15

UAAP Season 76 cheerdance competition marks the second time that SM MOA Arena will be hosting the event. Surely, contingents and fans of member universities will flock the arena as early as Sunday morning to see the live action.

For those who are not able to get tickets, the 2013 UAAP Cheerdance Competition will be broadcast live on Studio 23 at around 1:30 pm. Also expect a live streaming at the uaapsports.tv website and at http://uaaplivestream.studio23.tv/

The UP Pep Squad, the winningest team in the annual UAAP cheerdance, is once again up to defend its title to win their first ever four consecutive championships and be the first team to clinch 9 titles. However, also hyped to snatch the title this year are FEU Cheering Squad and the NU Cheer Squadron, last year's 1st and 2nd runners up, respectively.

Can the above groups continue their winning streak and maintain a podium finish or one from the other 5 universities, especially the 8-time champion UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, will come as a surprise and eventually win it all?

We'll find out on September 15 as the 8 squads showcase their winning forms and choreography. Below is the order of performances of the 8 schools for the 2013 UAAP Cheerdance Competition.

UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2013 Champion: NU Pep Squad

The NU Cheer Squadron was hailed the champion of the Samsung UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2013 held at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Sunday, September 15, the squad's very first UAAP cheerdance title.

From last year's 2nd runner up finish, the National University Cheer Squadron really stepped up their game this year to claim their first UAAP CDC championship. Prior to this, the NU Cheer Squadron already bagged the title in the 2013 National Cheerleading Championships (NCC).

Eight schools competed for the crown and showcased amazing stunts and extravagant themed performances. The FEU Cheering Squad opened the competition with a charged Tamaraw routine, somewhat a continuation of their 2012 theme. Then, the UP Pep Squad made the audience dance with their party routine followed by the UE Pep Squad's fiery number.

The DLSU Animo Squad wear commando with their soldier-goes-to-war theme. The NU Cheer Squadron brought with them the magic lamp with their Arabian-inspired routine while the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe showcased an Egyptian-inspired number with a quick-change costume and pyramid props.

The last two showcases were delivered by the Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion and the Adamson Pep Squad, which did a sports-themed and a cabaret/burlesque-themed performances, respectively.

Here is the complete list of winners for the 2013 UAAP Season 76 Cheerdance Competition:

Champion: NU Pep Squad
1st runner-up: UP Pep Squad
2nd runner-up: DLSU Animo Squad

Ranking 4th to 8th place were FEU, Adamson, UE, UST, Ateneo, respectively.

Samsung Stunner: Ana De Leon (DLSU Animo Squad)

Group stunts competition:
Champion: NU Pep Squad
1st runner-up: FEU Cheering Squad
2nd runner-up: UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe

Hosted by Boom Gonzalez and Alex Gonzaga, the 2013 Samsung UAAP Cheerdance Competition is expected to have a replay at Balls Channel and Studio 23.
