CommentS on Your Very Good Show
« on: November 22, 2012, 01:23:06 AM »
I have a Twitter account, a Tumblr, and an FB account, but I believe this is the best venue for comments on the show. And I expect I won't get punished for the comments I am about to present for I am expressing it in the most professional way I could ever think of. Your show has run from April 16 to November 22 (as of this writing) and I would like to congratulate you for the ratings you got for the 7-month airing of the show. But I guess, your show has come to a point not anymore appealing to the viewers. The mere extension of the show is a big flaw that I thought you would try to correct. I believe Princess and I is about a young girl who grew up in the Philippines and in a sudden, had to face the fact that she is a long lost Princess of a Yangdon, and the story would then go from the search to the revelation of her identity to her adjustment. But what are you doing? The entire show circled around one damn thing---Jao and Gino's fight for her heart. From a fictional family-oriented story, if not a fairytale-like one, to an "Amazing Race" or "Extra Challenge". But since you enjoyed that kind of plot, let's keep it that way, and now, I shall comment on the two guys' quest for Areeyah's heart. Since the start, Jao and Gino have done all they could just to show their love for Mikay, but still, as a ordinary and normal-thinking human, I could see the million-mile gap between them. Jao is someone who possesses all the admirable characteristics a person could have---handsome, kind, respectful, honest, easily feels pity for others, and the like. Whereas, Gino is boastful, disrespectful, hot-tempered, doesn't really care for others, and the list goes on. But while Jao is soooo admirable that you wouldn't think he's normal, Gino has done much and more than enough for Mikay. They both love Mikay, but what they have done for her differs in quantity and quality. I am a human, I am a girl and I know how to look at guys. Sacrificing everything he has is enough to win one's heart. But MIkay chose Jao? Do you even think it's reasonable? If you personally think that Enrique and Kathryn look better together, please don't mix your preferences up with the story. And if you really plan to have JaoMik as the ending, I'm begging you on my knees, to ponder and think twice a million times and realize what know what you ought to do, or if you can;t, just find an acceptable reason why you preferred it that way. CHOOSING JAO OVER GINO IS SOMETHING EXTREMELY ARBITRARY, UNBELIEVABLE, AND TOTALLY INEVIDENT. A girl who's still in her right mind (in other words, that one who doesn't think the way Mikay does) would know the difference between the two guys and would really know who deserves her heart better. King Anand is also dislikable. He wants Jao for first, he thinks he's perfect for the post as King for he's an original royal-blooded, ignoring the fact that he, himself, chose a commoner to be his wife. We could feel that Jao will turn out to be Mikay's cousin because their grandfathers are siblings. And if Mikay has already chosen Jao, please don't let her chase after Gino again if that's revealed. You could never let Mikay choose Gino just because Jao is her cousin. And one last thing, I WISH YOU KNEW WHAT'S HOTTEST IN THE COUNTRY NOW. I JUST REALLY PRAY THAT YOU'RE UPDATED OF WHAT'S HOT AND WHAT'S NOT. Well, I commend you, the staff and crew and of course, the actors, for your hardwork, staying up all night for taping, going out for mallshows, and the like. BUT I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT A SINGLE MOMENT HAVE I THOUGHT OF COMMENDING YOU FOR THE FLOW OF THE STORY, OF THE WAY EVERYTHING HAS TURNED OUT NOW. .As a viewer, I have endured much, following the story hoping the plot would give justice to the kilowatts my TV has consumed for every 30-minute episode, but for the past few months, since your first extension, you've bent my hopes and every night, it feels like I'm wasting every cent I pay for my electric bills. I have lived my life believing that a show is supposed to make its viewers happy, and as a viewer, I would just like you to know that you have defeated that purpose in a very terrible way! Are you really after the contentment and satisfaction of the viewers or just for the ratings we selflessly give you every night? PLEASE MAKE EVERYTHING RIGHT, PLEASE. You already prolonged to almost 9 months, please don't make the consequences of your flaw worse. I pray that you'll be able to read this, and after doing such, you'll get what I want you to get. Thanks! God bless! :)

Why wouldnt they choose jao?. Ikaw din may sbi na.jao posseses positive character..at sinong babae ang ayaw nyan?. even areeya's gesture showed it somehow and for my own opinion its just because of the demand of the fans kaya nagkaroon ng twist for gino in areeyas heart well in fact ang main plot ns story is the jaoreeyah, east and west throne, conflicts between the two kingdoms ang finally ang happy ending ay ang pagkakasundo ng.both.kingdoms..at mkakapulot ng magandang asal at magandang pananaw sa buhay ang mga viewers and it portrays sumhow real life in yangdon,bhutan..opinion lng po..tnx.gv lng tau.

JAO is still the best choice for MIKAY. This is not at all an issue about who loves her more but who loves her better and the way she should be loved.

Gino's love is passionate- in the sense that it comes out strong, unrelenting and even aggressive which is actually what makes it appealing to many. Furthermore, he is too obsessed and possessed by his FEELINGS for Mikay that he, at most times acts on these feelings impulsively without thinking of the consequences to Mikay, himself, or the people around them.

Most people see this as acts of PASSIONATE love - indeed quite exciting - and this is the only kind they know. Gino is this type of person who knows what he wants and tries all means to get it. He knows he wants Mikay and badly, and by all means he will try to get her. He will fight, endure pain, and even sacrifice a lot of things TO GET the object of his affection. But then again in the end, for whose satisfaction? HIS and his feelings. Gino is needy of Mikay.

To put it in another way, GINO NEEDS MIKAY - to satisfy his need for love and to feel better about himself. He said something about feeling to have "pakinabang" only around Mikay.

Finally, if they end up together, he will be more demanding than supportive.

--

Jao in contrast loves Mikay with a different kind of PASSION - the quiet, not at all flashy, yet the hardest kind. He seems very calm and composed all the time yet inside him is a constant and turbulent struggle of emotions.
Jao's love for Mikay is more complicated than it looks- gentle yet powerful, steadfast yet compliant, pursuing yet liberating- a constant battle bottled up inside him.

This silent and less popular kind of passion is rare. The lover (Jao), instead of being obsessed by his FEELINGS, is captivated by the object of his affection (Mikay) that all his actions are directed towards her welfare.
This is not to say that everything is done so with pleasure by the lover. On the contrary, it might always demand a conscious effort for him to forsake himself-including his desires and feelings for the good of the beloved. JAO is not needy of Mikay, yet he pines for her.

To put it in another way, JAO DOESN'T NEED MIKAY, yet he wouldn't have her gone. Mikay is the "bituin/liwanag" in his dull life and this star, he will always delight to see shining no matter what the cost.
Would it shine somewhere else and die out beside him, he would painfully choose to let it go even if it meant he continue to live in darkness and watch it from a distance.

However, if they end up together, Jao will not demand or keep Mikay for himself alone, but he will be the fuel to the ONLY STAR (nag-iisang bituin) that will shine ever so brightly- not only in his life but for all of Yangdon to see.

I seriously hope that ABSCBN take notice of the reviews here in their offical forum site - they're all naming very good points! I am a Team Jao fan - not because of who's playing but because of his character. Let's face it - there is no point in putting Gino into the whole love triangle equation because we can definitely see that it should be Jao for Mikay. Gino - not Daniel Padilla - is too dependent on Mikay and is too...whiny? He is such a child, very immature, and is sure definitely unfit to be the future king of Yangdon! All we get from him are his cheesy annoying antics which do nothing but irritate agreeing viewers and thus view him a hindrance to the true love between Jao and Mikay.

Yes Gino had done a lot for Mikay, sacrificed a lot for Mikay, and some may see this as deserving of her love but Gino did say that he was doing out of his own accord and does not expect anything in return...so why does it not look like that? His selfishness just shined more when he keepsJao from seeing Mikay.

Jao, meanwhile, had done and wanted nothing but the best for his princess. Formatter how much he loves her, he was even able to let her go from the very beginning as he was ordered to by his mom. But the fates said otherwise and they were still able to get together in the end! In the upcoming episodes though, it seems that Jao will have to let go of Areeyah (**note - Gino says Mikay buy Jao says Areeyah - ???**) once again. I just hope that the series won't disappoint us for it truly is a wonderful story with great potential and since it started like that, it should end like that.
