Basta eto ang new ABS-CBN schedule starting July 3: 6:00-10:30pm - ABS-CBN Primetime Bida, which includes: (M-Th) Calla Lily, TVP, Deal or ND, Bituwin, Sa Piling, My Girl, A Love (F) Calla, TVP, Deal, BWN, SPM, MMK 10:30-11:00pm - Bandila 11:00 -12:00mn: M- Entertainment Show (Probably "OK Fine" Until a new show replaces this one) T - N&CA - The Correspondents W - N&CA - SOCO Th - N&CA - Probe F - Entertainment Show (for the mean time, Gudtaym not sure if 'Kakalogkalog will replace this eventually) That's it... But PLEASE NOTE that this SCHEDULE is NOT NEW anymore - parang bumalik lang sa dati ang Programing ng Dos - talaga namang 10:30 dapat matinong sched for late night news - di ba dati 10:30 ang airing ng World Tonight, then naging Pulso Aksyon Balita, tapos naging Headlines nung 90's up to the end of the millenium. Nung early 2000 lang naman naging super late ang mga N&CA, naging 11:00pm tapos ngayon 11:30 or 12mn na.... so there's noithing new about this.... PROBABLY ABS-CBN is shifting back to its old sched and using old, tried & tested formulas and formats noong mga panahong No. 1 pa ang ABS-CBN - syempre, para maging no. 1 ulit. This is a smart move - I wish teleseryes would only last until 9:00pm the latest and bring in sitcoms and dramas in the original 9:30-10:30 block tulad ng dati. Sana totally alisin na ang mga Korean seryes lalo na pagpasok ng Pinoy Dream Academy para lahat na ng primetime programs eh 100% Pinoy Programming. Korean, Chi & Latin novelas are for the 11:30-12NN & 3:00-4:30pm slot only. And about the anchors, siguro if a 30-min. news program will be too crowded for 3 newscasters, probably after 2 months or so, they would eventually remove one of them para maging 2 na lang. Very good talaga na early na ulit ang late-night news, para naman maagang makatulog ang mga tao, di kaya healthy yung magpuyat ka until 11:00 pm just to finish up the teleseryes, tapos wait until 12:00mn for the news kung gusto mo talagang panoorin....

Dapat gawin ng ABS ay i-establish si Korina. Palit kase ng palit ng anchor, yung mga ipinapalit naman, kulang sa kalibre. Sa totoo lang, si Korina na nga lang ang pwedeng pantapat kay Mel at Mike, inalis pa sa TVP at inilagay pa sa Bandila na late night news, hay naku! Hintayin na lang natin na tapusin ni Noli ang politics para ibalik sya sa TVP with Korina, for sure taob si Mike at Mel, kay Korina na nga lang, taob na yung dalawa, gawin mo pang Noli at Korina, eh di talagang taob. Yun nga lang may influence na ng politics si Noli which is a disadvantage if kukunin sya ulit which is against sa code of ethics ng news & current affairs. Pero si Ted Failon di ba congressman before, so bakit kinuha sya ulit? Siguro may exceptions..haha..
I totally agree...pag tatlong anchors sardinas ang kalalabasan nito...ang sabi ni Maria Ressa sa Inquirer na tatlong anchors daw kasi it represents tri-color ng Bandila natin...eh tri-color na ang TVP diba? Dapat isa lang ni Korina sa Bandila...she is one of best news anchors sa Dos na di masyado inaalagaan ng Dos...buti na lang at walang nag pirate kay Korina....But I suggest Bandila will fit for only one anchor...one anchor represents one flag....as a flagship news program ng Dos...and not a flag that represents a tri-color kasi nagmumukhang CORNY!!!!

ABS-CBN raises the flag
of journalism excellence By Ayn Veronica L. de Jesus ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. hopes to change the face of Philippine television by moving its late night news program Insider to an earlier time slot. What’s more, the new program will be titled Bandila, which is the Filipino word for flag. The move “is an act of leadership,” said Maria Ressa, head of the network’s news and current affairs division, explaining the choice for the title at a press conference on Tuesday. Her message: Nationalism, not merely ratings, will drive the news. When Ressa took over the helm of the news division in June 2005, she noticed—not just in ABS-CBN—that programming in recent the years had become entertainment-driven. Particularly by consecutive soap operas—comprised of local and foreign telenovelas, fantaseryes and reality shows—which are shown from 7:30 p.m. onwards. The effect on the delivery of news is that it is pushed very late into the evening. “We’re taking a risk here by moving the news to 10:30 p.m.,” she pointed out, so that viewers don’t have to stay awake wait until midnight to get their information. The move not only aims to bring the news earlier to viewers, but also to polish the network’s image specifically, and that of media on the whole. “Media has been getting a lot of negative publicity lately,” said Luchi Cruz Valdez, who has been tasked to head Bandila’s program production, adding that many viewers had begun to turn away from watching the news because most items focus on political bickerings, economic slump and national degradation. “We were feeding on that depression. We felt the time was right to do something,” she elaborated. Ressa and Valdez are part of the management team that will oversee the daily production of Bandila. Skip entertainment? To be conducted in Filipino, Bandila will compete head on with entertainment programs in other channels. “We have a double mandate,” Ressa said. “We will give viewers the information to help them make decisions in their lives. But we should also give this in a form that will make them forego entertainment [in the other channels in the same timeslot.]” To attain this, “Bandila will go beyond just reporting news. There will be analysis that the ordinary person can process, to give them a better perspective of what’s happening in the country.” She negated the possibility of delivering the news in a sensationalized manner, for which ABS-CBN has been criticized in the past. “Tabloid news has become the norm globally. But tabloid news does not mean sensationalism. Tabloid news is appealing to the emotions of the viewers and going deeper into the issue.” Ressa explained that while TV Patrol World, which airs at 6:30 p.m., will give audiences the who, what, where and when of the news, “Bandila will give them the how and why. “We will start with the micro, the human interest, the person affected by the issue. Then we will give the macro, how an issue will affect the cost of doing business, its impact on the economy and the country.” She explained, “in a country where most homes just have one television set, viewers tend to switch channels if they don’t like a certain show. That means they’re looking for content. The A and B crowd has more sources of content because they have cable television. But the C, D and E markets really don’t have a choice. So we want to give them another source of news aside from the early editions. Explosive content, glitzy production Chari Villa, who is also part of the management team and tasked with managing content, expressed confidence in being able to find and provide the stuff that viewers want, with the support of ABS-CBN’s infrastructure. “I’m banking on ABS-CBN’s infrastructure to help me gather the content,” she said, emphasizing that the network’s 18 sites, including bureaus in the United States, Middle East, Europe, and soon Australia, will greatly support the team’s aim of providing more comprehensive and high-quality reportage. The program will focus on national issues, but will also feature some police stories if they are significant, Villa added. Valdez for her part, says the newscast’s pacing will be much different from the early edition in that there will be more glitz, more debate, more reactions. “It’s not going to be a replay of TV Patrol. The pacing will be faster,” she said, describing the format as maingay and makulay (noisy and colorful). “There will be a lot of talking heads. It will be visually exciting.” Veteran journalists Korina Sanchez, Ces Drilon and Henry Omaga Diaz will anchor Bandila, each of them bringing 20 or more years of broadcast journalism experience into the newscast. The move also brings Sanchez back to newscasting after two years out of TV Patrol.
