Whether primetime or late night, what's important... KORINA IS BACK!And actually, this is a smart move from the News Department of ABS-CBN... There will be a greater chance for the late night news and current affairs shows of ABS to do good in tv ratings because of a stronger pre-programming newscast... Baka, ito ang pumalit sa primetime block...

JH... what's your basis na "tatas ang pre-prog ng BANDILA", kung maganda ang takbo ng bandila, post prog lang ang maapektuhan nun... kasi, iba ang genre ng pre-prog ng bandila... puro comedy, drama, except for SOCO na wala namang nanonood!

Napilitan lang siguro ang tres marias ng Dos na ilagay si Korina sa Bandila...kasi sa forum na ito e napudpod na ang mga kamay ng mga tao dto sa kaka-type na ibalik si Korina....buti na lang pinagbigyan tayo pero noong una pa man ay halata na talaga...pero tama si Joseph Henry na ang importante is ibinalik nila si Korina... Ang tantya ko dyan...ang mag si save sa N at CA ng DOs is because Korina is back in the limelight...As what Joseph Henry said, this changes will not help the primetime block at tuloy pa ring lalagapak....pero okay ako basta what is important is...Korina is Back....happy na ako! Alam nyo kahit ano gawin ng bumabaril sa carrer ni Koring...talagang wala silang magagawa kasi viewers na mismo ang gusto ipabalik si Korina...para sa akin, this is the most rational decision na ginawa ng Dos....e CONGRATS ko pala si Madam Koring....number 1 ka talaga!

Inquirer Editor's Note: Published on Page A2-6 of the June 20, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer “BANDILA,” ABS-CBN’s reformatted late-night newscast, will now be aired at an earlier time slot, 10:30, starting July 3. This development is to be announced today by Eugenio Gabriel Lopez III, network chair; Charo Santos, channel head and executive vice president; and Maria Ressa, senior vice president and head of News and Current Affairs. Ressa gave Inquirer Entertainment a first look at the reprogramming or “re-gridding” of the late-night lineup. Inquirer initially broke the story on May 28, after three late-night Current Affairs shows—“Pipol,” “Kontrobersyal” and “Payong Kapatid”—were rumored to be facing cancellation. Big riskWhile “Payong Kapatid” was turned into a segment on the morning program “Magandang Umaga Pilipinas,” “Pipol” and “Kontrobersyal” will soon stop airing, Ressa confirmed. After “many weeks of planning,” the network is unveiling more “changes” in its evening lineup. Head of Current Affairs Luchi Cruz-Valdez said the earlier newscast is “an act of leadership.” “It’s a big risk,” Ressa noted. “We are making a bet that Filipino viewers want to receive information while they are still awake.” Media critics have lamented that late-night newscasts came in much too late, at 12 midnight, and Current Affairs programs, even later at 1 a.m. “We are responding to a clamor,” Valdez said. Valdez admitted that this move entails a huge sacrifice. “We are going up against Entertainment shows on the other channels,” she said. Moreover, Valdez said, there is the risk of losing revenues from advertisers who prefer Entertainment shows over N&CA programs. Judgment call“We are making a judgment call as a full network,” Ressa explained. “In the Philippines, news is only 20 percent of the entire content; entertainment, 80 percent. [But] we got everyone’s blessing, including the Entertainment people.” The “re-gridding,” Ressa said, “represents the changes in our newsroom in the past year; it pushes our vision statement: excellent journalism … [in the service of] nation-building.” Three days in the work week, the 30-minute newscast is to be followed by a one-hour Current Affairs program—making it “an hour and a half of N&CA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” Valdez said. “Entertainment kept only two days: Monday and Friday,” Ressa said. “The three Current Affairs shows that have been retained are ‘The Correspondents’ (Tuesday), ‘S.O.C.O.’ or ‘Scene of the Crime Operatives’ (Wednesday), and ‘Probe’ (Thursday).” http://news.inq7.net/entertainment/index.p...&story_id=79733

Sana maging successful ang Bandila with Korina Sanchez. Bakit ba naman kase need pang tatlo or dalawa ang news anchor pwede namang isa lang. Proven na pwede namang isa lang, like what Korina Sanchez did sa TVP, taob ang kabila kahit mag-isa lang sya na anchor. Dapat Ressa should know that Korina Sanchez ay isa sa haligi ng pagbabalita sa Pilipinas and dapat alagaan sya ng mabuti. If US has Peter Jennings and Dan Rather as the walls of nescasting, sa Pilipinas meron din dapat. Actually meron, si Noli De Castro pero nawala sya because of politics and Frankie Evagelista pero patay na. Dapat may pumalit sa kanila, now Mel Tiangco and Mike Enriquez ay ilan lamang sa mga pinagkakatiwalaan ngayon sa pagbabalita, aminin natin na matatag na sila pero mapantayan kaya nila ang US counterparts? Si Korina na nga lang ang natitirang kapantay ni Noli sa ABS, tinanggal pa sya sa TVP na alam nating isa sa longest running news program sa Pilipinas like Newswatch ng RPN. Dapat gawin ng ABS ay i-establish si Korina. Palit kase ng palit ng anchor, yung mga ipinapalit naman, kulang sa kalibre. Sa totoo lang, si Korina na nga lang ang pwedeng pantapat kay Mel at Mike, inalis pa sa TVP at inilagay pa sa Bandila na late night news, hay naku! Hintayin na lang natin na tapusin ni Noli ang politics para ibalik sya sa TVP with Korina, for sure taob si Mike at Mel, kay Korina na nga lang, taob na yung dalawa, gawin mo pang Noli at Korina, eh di talagang taob. Yun nga lang may influence na ng politics si Noli which is a disadvantage if kukunin sya ulit which is against sa code of ethics ng news & current affairs. Pero si Ted Failon di ba congressman before, so bakit kinuha sya ulit? Siguro may exceptions..haha..

gaya ng sinabi ko noon, let's give this program a chance first to prove itself... di pa nga sumasahimpapawid, dami nyo na sinasabi... watch na lang muna, ok? kaya nga pala 3 anchors yan, kasi nga, ang ating bandila ay tri-colors. read the past posts... mamaya jan sa pamimilit mong dapat isa na lang anchor baka ang tanggalin pa nila sina korina at isa pang anchor...
