Maraming salamat Prodigy.

    People's Tonight

Tapos, may E-VAT pang nakabinbin.

    Re: The Correspondents

i thought ABS-CBN's news are accurate... i've always looked up to all your newscasters to be diligent, fair and accurate... i guess i was wrong...

just recently we, the trainees of the TESDA-JITCO program here in Japan, have watched the report of THE CORRESPONDENTS about GREENLIFE AND FOREST FOUNDATION, and we were so raged at the unfair delivery of news of the reporter, whoever he is(huh!).

it seems that your newscasters never look at both sides of the story...

whenever somebody complains to you about something or somebody, you seem to think that the ones they complain are always the culprit....

you heard the complains of the repatriated trainees.... and you easily believe!!!

how about the thankful trainees that finished their contracts and the trainees that are still here in japan and the trainees that are still in the Philippines waiting for their turn to be given the chance to fulfill their dreams? did you even ask if what those complainants say is true? did you???? i guess not!

hope your management correct these... it's shameful to say you are the best channel if you are like this...

if you want to correct this why don't you try ask us, trainees here in Japan? we'll all be willing to tell you everything... even the TRUE reasons why those complainants deserve to be repatriated.

ABS-CBN’s ‘Batang Preso’ wins UNICEF award

TV Documentary titled "Batang Preso (Juvenile Injustice") produced by ABS-CBNs’ "The Correspondents" bested 50 other programs submitted by broadcasters from 12 countries in the 2005 Asian Broadcasting Union/Cable Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (ABU/CASBAA) UNICEF Child Rights Awards).

"The Correspondents" program host Karen Davila exposes in "Juvenile Justice" the harrowing experiences of children aged 5-17 thrown in jail for petty crimes such as stealing and sniffing solvent. This award–winning documentary focuses on these children cramped inside a small and inhumane jail cell, with no ventilation. In the same documentary, "The Correspondents" featured options for alternative rehabilitation facilities, methods and the country’s need for a comprehensive Juvenile Justice Law.

Earlier this year, Karen Davila also won the Rotary Club’s Broadcast Journalist of the Year award.

The ABU/CASBAA UNICEF Child Rights Award yearly recognizes the efforts of broadcasters and producers in generating top quality programming for children and better news coverage of issues focusing children. The award is presented to the best television programming on children’s rights produced in the Asia–Pacific region, with only one category and one winner per year.
