Christian popular in Indonesia

Christian Bautista is one of the celebrity guests on the grand finals
night of "Indonesian Idol" on August 12.He will sing his hit
song "The Way You Look At Me" with a female finalist, and a duet with
last season's "Indonesian Idol"grand winner, Delon. He is also set to
record two Indonesian songs in English from top Indonesian composer
and most valuable musician-arranger, Andi Rianto.

Christian's debut album is a big hit in Indonesia as well, having
reached platinum, selling 75,000 copies. Warner Music Indonesia is
planning to release Christian's repackaged album there, including
newly-produced videos of "Hands to Heaven" and "Colour Everywhere."

Negotiations are also open for one of the telecommunications
companies in Indonesia about the possibility of marketing ring tones
and ring backs of Christian's voice and songs. And that's not all,
Warner Music is all set to release his album in neighboring countries
Thailand and Malaysia before the year ends.

He's also the latest singer to invade acting on television, appearing
as the love interest of Anne Curtis in the series, "Kampanerang
Kuba." He might do a movie as the male lead with Anne as leading lady.

Christian Bautista adds another feather on his cap, making it to the
grand finals night of Indonesian Idol on Aug. 12 as one of the
competition's celebrated guests. He will sing his hit, The Way You
Look At Me, Bahasa Cinta with female finalists, and a duet with last
season's Indonesian Idol grand winner Delon. Christian is also set
to record two Indonesian songs in English from top Indonesian
composer and musician-arranger Andi Rianto.

While his album in Indonesia is deemed as one of the top priorities
and has so far reached platinum, selling 75,000 copies, Warner Music
Indonesia plans to release Christian's re-packaged album there,
including newly-produced videos of Hands to Heaven and Colour
Everywhere.

Negotiations are also open for a telecommunications company in
Indonesia about the possibility of marketing the ring tones and ring
backs of Christian's voice and songs. That's not all. Warner Music
will release Christian's album in Thailand and Malaysia before the
year ends.

While everybody knows how Christian got his first luck on a singing
contest where he was a finalist, it was instead the start of
something tremendous for him. He scored big with the success of his
debut album, thanks to his single, The Way You Look At Me, which
broke records locally and now has won a quadruple platinum record
award. Christian has several chart-topping singles and has had sold-
out concerts here and abroad plus numerous endorsements. Still, none
of these could compare to his success he has just achieved as one of
the youngest, established performers to hit it big in the
international scene.

Now, Christian has become an international artist and a teen
heartthrob with increasing following. In spite all this, he remains
humble and in awe. "Of course, I am happy and I really feel blessed.
Everything is happening so fast. God is really good and I am excited
in releasing and promoting my album all over Asia."

Christian is the latest singer to invade acting on TV. For a
newcomer like him, he has done very well. His acting is commendable.
His team-up with Anne Curtis on Kampanerang Kuba shows that they
have chemistry. A movie might also come up with Christian as male
lead.

But that doesn't mean Christian will devote less time to singing.
Aside from his stints in Indonesia, he is busy working on his second
album. Ricky Ilacad, Warner Philippines managing director, is
positive this will surpass the success of Christian's debut album.

The recent Aliw Awards recognized Christian in the Best Male
Performance in a Concert Category for his first solo concert, The
Way You Look at Me.

Christian is under Stages, an event management company which has
expanded into managing talents publicity and producing major stage
musicals like Footloose at Meralco Theater.

He’s killing the character of Lorenzo in Kampanerang Kuba. It would have been great if it was Geoff portraying that character. Christian’s acting is unbearable. They should just keep Lorenzo and Imang as bestfriends because there is no kilig factor whatsoever. Please don’t try to shove the Lorenzo-Imang team-up down our throats. Tell Christian to stick to singing. Christian’s acting sucks!"

Mas bagay si Patrick Garcia at si Anne sa Kampanerang Kuba, sana sila na lang. Mas okay pa nga si Luis Manzano at si Anne compared kay Christian at Anne, eh.

Sana this time pagbigyan na kami ng ABS. Makinig sila sa mga fans. Hindi namin type si Christian para kay Anne. At hindi rin kami natutuwa sa news na gagawa ng movie si Christian kasama si Anne. Ani Baby Bench naman baby_bench@hot mail.com "I would just like to comment that I love Kampanerang Kuba, but I have one or two complaints. Christian Bautista should just stick to singing. His acting is horrible. He’s always smiling in his scenes, even when it’s not required. I adore him as a singer, but he’s seriously ruining the Lorenzo character. He’s killing us with his mediocre acting. I know he’s new to acting, but he did come from theatre so I was really expecting something from him. And I’m very disappointed. I’m not convinced with his acting at all. He shows no emotions and when he delivers his lines, his voice sometimes is a bit flat. Luis Manzano is doing a way better job than him and I thought he’d be doing worse than Christian. I don’t think I can stand the torture of seeing Christian’s acting...etc...etc..."

Ang ibang sulat ay na-published na sa ibang tabloids and we need not repeat them. Nakasama namin si Christian sa ABS-CBN Summer Kapamilya at base sa obserbasyon namin ay may pagka-DRY yata ang personalidad nito. Aloof siya at hindi malapit sa fans (unlike Erik Santos & Mark Bautista na palabati at palangiti sa mga fans) at mukhang palaging may inisip o may dinadalang problema. Mga babae ang kasalamuha niya at parang binilinan yata ng manager niya na huwag makikitsika sa mga Bading. Hindi kasama ni Christian Bautista ang manager niya kaya baka raw takot na may magsumbong sa manager niya. Bakit daw ganoon na lang ang "takot" ni Christian sa manager niya? Bah, ewan? I didn’t bother to ask. And I am not interested to know nor find out why, huh! Itanong niyo na lang kay Jojo Gabinete at baka alam niya ang kasagutan. Sayang, maganda pa naman ang singing voice ni Christian.

Christian Bautista to perform in 'Indonesian Idol'

Christian Bautista will be one of the guest singers in the Grand Final's
Night of Indonesian Idol on August 12. He is set to perform his hit song
"The Way You Look at Me, Bahasa Cinta" with the competition's female
finalists, plus a duet with last season's Indonesian Idol grand winner
Delon.

The leading man of Anne Curtis in the fantaserye Kampanerang Kuba is also
set to record two Indonesian songs in English from top Indonesian composer
and musician-arranger Andi Rianto.

Christian's music album, which has reached Platinum in the Philippines, will
be repackaged to include his newly produced videos of "Hands to Heaven" and
"Color Everywhere." Warner Music will offer the repackaged album in
Indonesia.

Marketing the ring tones and ring backs of Christian's voice and songs is
also on the works with one of Indonesia's telecoms companies.

Christian, who is working on his second album, was discovered as a finalist
in the ABS CBN 2 singing search Star in a Million. He has earned four
nominations in the 2005 Aliw Award and was nominated for this year's MTV
Pilipinas Music Video Awards.

Christian Bautista is managed by Stages, an event and talent management
company that produces major musicals such as the upcoming Footloose at the

Update on Christian

Here's an update on Christian Bautista, who is now in Indonesia, sent
thru text by his manager Carlo Orosa: Accommodations are excellent.
We are billeted in a five-star hotel. Christian has two bodyguards
assigned to him 24 hours a day. He is scheduled for TV interviews,
radio tours, and print interviews. Today (August 12), Rolling Stones
Magazine interviewed him. Tonight he will guest in Bintang, a famous
talk show. He has been assigned a personal stylist with three
assistants. Everywhere he goes, he is provided with clothes all the
time in all the appearances, designer brands like Hugo Boss and
Yamamoto that costs thousands of dollars. Last night (August 11), he
sang in a beauty pageant for the number one Indonesian magazine for
women called Femina held at the ballroom of a five-star hotel Grand
Melia. The photographers rushed infront to take his photographs.
Delon, the reigning Indonesian Idol was quoted: He's a big fan of
Christian and he has his CD. They will meet tomorrow (August 13) for
the first time. Christian is a celebrated guest and is considered an
international artist here in Indonesia.

Rachelle Ann, Christian win MTV Awards

Hale bagged two trophies but it was rumored lovers Rachelle Ann Go
and Christian Bautista who scored a knockout by bringing home the
Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Male Artist Awards at this
year's MTV Pilipinas 2005 Video Music Awards.

Rachelle Ann was nominated for her rendition of the South Border hit
Love of My Life, one of the cuts in her first album entitled
Rachelle Ann Go. She topped rivals Arnee, Kitchie Nadal, Kyla and
Nina. Christian won over Artstrong, Erik Santos, Luke Mijares and
Paolo Santos for his version of Breathe's Hands to Heaven, which is
also a cut in his first album.

The two young singers met when Christian was asked to duet with
Rachelle Ann in the classic Peter Allen ballad (You and Me) We
Wanted It All for her album. The recording became a huge seller and
has since also been included in Christian's solo album.

The MTV Pilipinas 2005 Video Music Awards show was held last
Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, which was
transformed into a boxing arena for the evening. Directed by Kokoy
Jimenez with Mel Villena as musical director, it featured
performances from the Radioactive Sago Project, which also won two
trophies, Nina, Christian, Rachelle Ann, Erik, Hale, Cueshé,
Kitchie, Sugarfree, Rivermaya, Ely Buendia, Karl Roy and many
others.

Top performer was Gary Valenciano, who was the recipient of the MTV
Generations Award in recognition of his career that has spanned
decades and broken boundaries and for his music which continues to
inspire generations of artists and music fans both here and abroad.
Gary was joined by his son Gabriel and Powerplay in a performance of
his big hit Hataw Na.

and presenters like Jojo Alejar, Junior Kilat, Rex Navarette,
Parokya ni Edgar, Richard Gutierrez, Francis Magalona, Borgy

Sept. 30 at 12 noon. Hosts of the event were Epy Quizon, Karylle and
MTV VJ KC Montero.
