Ngayong gabi, sabay na maglalaro ang magkaibigang John Estrada at Randy Santiago sa Kapamilya Deal or No Deal ni Kris Aquino.

Timing naman na may ingay sa una ngayon since kapuputok lang ng hiwalayan nila ni Vanessa del Bianco, kaya for sure, marami ang mag-aabang sa nasabing episode.

John and Randy became friends after working together in MTB (Magandang Tanghali Bayan). Sa totoo lang, fans daw sila ng KDOND not only because of the game, kundi dahil sa 26K.

Randy Santiago may not be visible on TV, but he’s kept busy doing world tours with The Filipino Channel. The singer has just returned from a big show in Doha, Qatar in tandem with Sarah Geronimo, Mark Bautista, and Rachel Ann Go. Randy’s next stop will be Papua, New Guinea and New Zealand.

    • Meanwhile, Ratsky, the bar-resto owned and managed by Randy, is celebrating March with a flurry of activities. Randy himself performs at Ratsky Malate on March 16 and 30 and at Ratsky Morato every Saturday of the month with his band, Serenity.

    Randy kampi kay James

    By: Mercy Lejarde

    TELL & TELL

At the end of the day, tatayo pa rin ’yan,” sabi ng  Randy in defense of James and probably Hope na rin.

    STUDIO WHISPER
    Ethel Ramos

RANDY Santiago said he liked the trailer of the Star Cinema movie, "A Love Story," and, thus, predicts it will be a blockbuster.

"A Love Story," produced by Star Cinema and directed by Maryo de los Reyes, stars Aga Muhlach, Angelica Panganiban and Maricel Soriano, who was the love of Randy’s life once upon a time.

Randy is now, of course, happily married to the former Marilou Coronel, with whom he has three children, all boys. Maricel has two boys, too.

Said Randy of "A Love Story": "I think a number of men will be able to identify themselves with the character Aga is portraying. Iyon bang tipong you would wish you have two hearts. Yes, sana dalawa ang puso mo."

Will he watch the premiere of "A Love Story" on August 14 at the Megamall?

"I am wary of watching it," he answered. Then in a voice which was hard to distinguish whether he was kidding or serious, he added, "It might open old wounds."

Now more a director than a singer and an actor, Randy will direct "John En Shirley" in the next two weeks.

"John En Shirley" is topbilled by Dolphy, Susan Roces and Maricel Soriano.

"Wala naman sigurong gusto si Randy sa mga taga-White Castle girl, baka natutuwa lang siya kasi mga kalog din at nakikipag-harutan din kina Zanjoe (Marudo), John (Prats) at Jason (Gainza).  Pero siyempre kung kilala mo si Randy, di ba babaero ‘yun?" tsika pa sa usa ka tinubdan nga taga-Parekoy.

80s’ pop icons in one concert

The 80s gave us some of local music scene’s best and most enduring artists. Four of those artists will return to the concert scene via "Greatest Hits of the 80’s," a two-night show at the Music Museum on May 16 and 17).

Remember Gino Padilla? His voice gave life to the hit singles "Close You and I" - which was used in a toothpaste commercial back in the day — "I Believe In You" and "Let The Love Begin."

Gino’s most recent projects include an album produced by none other than the Megastar, Ms. Sharon Cuneta herself. The album, bannered by the first single "Keeping The Momories Alive," is titled "Hands Of Time" and is available at all leading record bars.

Louie Heredia also made his mark in the 1980’s - in 1985, to be precise - with songs like "Can’t Find No Reasons," "Iisang Damdamin," "Nag-iisang Ikaw" and "Una At Huling Mamahalin." Back in the day, he also hosted many TV shows like the phenomenal "Lunch Date."

Actor-singer Raymond Lauchengco also rose to prominence in the 1980’s, thanks largely in part to his role in the iconic 1980’s teen movie "Bagets." His hits include "In Need You Back," "Farewell," "Saan Darating Ang Umaga" and "So It’s You." After a brief career hiatus, during which he was sorely missed by the industry, Raymond went back to Viva Artists Agency — the same company that launched his career.

The title of Raymond’s latest album - a collection of songs from the 1980’s rearranged big-band style — Full Circle is very appropriate sinxe he came "full circle" when he returned to Viva.

Who can forget Randy Santiago and those shades of his? Randy may be a director now — he recently helmed the ABS-CBN sitcom "Aalog-alog" - but back in the day he was an in-demand singer and dancer. He appeared in several musical variety shows and released several hit singles of his own, including "Hindi Magbabago," "Para Sa ‘Yo," "Tuloy Pa Rin" and the ultimaten ladies’ man song "Babaero."

"Greatest Hits of the 80’s" is produced by Viva Concerts and Events.

    Pop goes the ’80s

A decade characterized by funny looking clothes and weird makeup – that’s what most people now think of the 1980s.

How quickly they forget that it was also the decade when some of the local music scene’s best and most enduring artists started their careers. In fact, four of those artists will return to the concert scene via Greatest Hits of the ’80s, a two-night show at the Music Museum on May 16 and 17.

One of those artists is Gino Padilla, whose vocals gave life to the fit singles “Closer You And I,” “I Believe In You” and “Let The Love Begin.” Gino’s most recent projects include an album produced by none other than the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta herself. The album, bannered by the first single Keeping The Memories Alive, is entitled Hands Of Time and is available at all leading record bars.

Louie Heredia also made his mark in the 1980s with songs like “Can’t Find No Reasons,” “Iisang Damdamin,” “Nag-iisang Ikaw” and “Una at Huling Mamahalin.” The many albums he released were met with critical and commercial success, which helped him earn many Gold and Platinum Record awards. Back in the day, he also hosted many TV shows like the phenomenal Lunch Date.

Actor-singer Raymond Lauchengco also rose to prominence in the 1980s, thanks largely in part to his role in the iconic 1980s teen movie Bagets. LONGEST concert ever ang Greatest Hits of the 80’s.

Parang napakalaking concert ang gagawin ng Viva Concert and Events na Greatest Hits of the 80’s. It has four big male singing stars of the eighties na sina Raymond Lauchengco, Gino Padilla, Louie Heredia and Randy Santiago na kahit sila lang sandamakmak ang collective hits.

Tapos two night concert pa ito, on May 16 and 17 sa Music Museum from the stage direction of Jun Jun Santiago.

We say big dahil nang nagpipilian na ng repertoire, personal hits pa lang nila, aabot na ng two hours.

Kaso they still have to sing a lot of songs from the 80’s  so when everything was compiled, baka raw umabot ito ng four to five hours.

Nang nag-decide sila to cut and trim here and there, tatlong oras pa rin ang ita-tagal ng concert so sabi nila hanggang doon na lang.

For tickets call Ticket World at 891 9999.

    Nostalgic trip

Viva Concerts and Events is staging "Greatest Hits of the ‘80s" at the Music Museum on May 16 and 17. The two-night show will see Gino Padilla, Louie Heredia, Raymond Lauchengco and Randy Santiago singing some of their biggest hits, with a few surprises thrown in.

Gino is the voice that sold a thousand tubes of toothpaste back in the day. Well, not really, but his signature song "Closer You and I" was used in a toothpaste commercial once. The exposure helped his follow-up singles "I Believe in You" and "Let the Love Begin" become just as successful.

Gino has a new album "Hands of Time," which he co-produced with Sharon Cuneta.

For his part, Louie’s hits – like "Iisang Damdamin," "Nag-iisang Ikaw" and "Una at Huling Mamahalin" – served as the soundtrack for many a guy courting a girl back in the day. These days, he is actually more focused on developing his talent in the kitchen. His specialty? Paella, which you can order from him. So engrossed is he with this new business venture of his that he went into semi-retirement. However, when Viva contacted him, he agreed to come out of semi-retirement.

Raymond Lauchengco will add a little something extra with stirring renditions of all his old hits, including "I Need You Back," "Farewell," "Saan Darating ang Umaga" and "So It’s You." That he will participate in this show is fitting, since he started his career in the 1980’s via the teen movie "Bagets," which was also produced by Viva – and he has also released a new album, "Full Circle."

Meanwhile, "Babaero," one of Randy Santiago’s biggest hits, was the song for all ladies’ men. Randy – who of late has ventured into directing – will be singing "Babaero" and his other hits, so if you’ve missed "Hindi Magbabago," "Para Sa ‘Yo" and "Tuloy Pa Rin" live, then grab tickets to "Greatest Hits of the ‘80s" ASAP.

Produced by Viva Concerts and Events, it is directed by Jun-Jun Santiago, with Noel Cruz of Serenity Band on hand as the musical director. Jake Tordesillas and Kaye Brondial share writing duties.

4 singers to revive hits of the ‘80s

FOUR outstanding singers reunited in a two night special event in their careers as they serenade and entertain the public again after several years of being out of the limelight.

Gino Padilla, Louie Heredia, Raymond Lauchengco and Randy Santiago bring back the old days as they perform a pulsating and lively music event in their upcoming show at the Music Museum.

Dubbed “Greatest Hits of the ‘80s”, the show of the four singing sensation who are known for their individual approach in singing and their incomparable performances will hit the road on May 16 and 17.

Meanwhile, in line with their promotion of their forthcoming concert, Louie made a remarkable slipped on the afternoon show of ABS-CBN – “Wowowee”.

While singing at the new stage of the variety show, Louie as he walks around accidentally slipped, which is allegedly caused by his leather shoes. The singer’s leg was also hurt at that time.

Despite the tripped, he managed to stand up and continued singing.

On the other hand, Louie’s fortuitous incident is now one of the hottest videos at YouTube as he has now become a global fuss.

The concert of the four singing icons is produced by Viva Concerts. The production is directed by Junjun Santiago, while the musical direction is by Noel Cruz.

    Tickets range from P2,250, P2,000 and P1,400. (JRDB/Sunnex)
