Lance in ‘Heartthrob’


This coming Feb. 14, at 8:30 p.m., Lance Raymundo, Viva recording artist, composer, actor and singer, will have a special Valentine’s concert entitled "Heartthrob" at the Boulvar Lounge of the Manila Pavilion. He will also represent the Philippines for this year’s Manhunt International Pageant to be held in Beijing, China.

Isang ramp model si Lance Raymundo nang makilala ko. Mas nauna kong na-meet ang older brother niya na si Rannie Raymundo. Bago silang dalawa, nakasama ko ang mommy nila na si Nina Zaldua-Raymundo nung sumasali pa ito bilang Miss Night Owl, isang programa sa Channel 11 na ginaganap pa sa Keg Room ng Jai-alai and hosted by Lito Gorospe.

Contestant din ako sa nasabing TV show, dancer at hindi beauty contestant na tulad ni Nina at ang mga kapanabayan niyang sina Imelda Ilanan (mom ni Maricel Laxa), Dulce Lucban (mom ni Pops Fernandez), at marami pang iba na sumikat bilang mga artista.

Nakita ko kung paano nag-switch si Lance from modeling to singing. Bagaman at magkaiba ang forte nila ni Rannie, pareho silang mahusay, lumamang lamang ang kuya niya dahil musikero rin ito.

For a while, nawala si Lance, yun pala nag-Amerika ito, nagbakasyon, tumingin-tingin ng posibilidad sa negosyo, modeling at pati sa singing.

Bumalik na siya, kumakanta pa rin, nagmo-model pa rin, nag-negosyo pa rin pero, nagpapaka-macho sa pamamagitan ng pagbu-boksing, tatlong oras kada araw nasa Elorde gym siya para mag-train sa boxing.

Pinasok na rin niya ang pagsusulat, kolumnista siya ng Style Magazine. Tuwing Biyernes, host siya ng isinasagawang theme party/model search na ginaganap sa Citrus Bar, 9NG. Siya rin ang host sa finals nito sa Hulyo 28 na gaganapin sa Podium na kunsaan ay magbibigay din siya ng isang mini-concert at preview ng kanyang bagong album.

Proyekto rin niya ang launching ng kauna-unahang fashion/music/entertainment industry online community, SDOLARA.COM na may 2,000 myembro (artista, musician, model, photogs, producers at media people) na nakatala. Naka-release ito sa Beta format.

Nagpabalik-balik si Lance sa Amerika para sa modeling stint kaya aminadong ‘di niya gaanong naharap ang recording career.

Ngayon, sa pamamagitan ng sariling composition na The Beautiful Sun, released ng sarili nilang recording outfit, Brattrax, aasikasuhin na ni Lance ang hindi naasikaso ng ilang taon.

Buong pagmamalaking ikinuwento ng singer na bilang bahagi ng pagbabago ng image, pumayag siyang mag-pose nang nude sa isang bagong girlie magazine na lalabas next month, ang glossy mag na Skin.

Kunsabagay, may magandang physique si Lance na puwedeng ipagmalaki, at puwedeng pagpantasyahan ng mga kababaihan at kabadingan.

Pero ang isang dahilan ni Lance kung bakit pumayag na mag-all the way sa naturang magasin ay ang napagkasunduang ex-deal nila ng publisher: Bawat kopya na mabibili ay may kasamang “free” single ng latest recording.

LANCE Raymundo who beat the music scene lately to do some modeling stints in the US is back… as a new Lance, the singer, with new sounds.

It has to be like this: His new sound being his kind of music.

After all, his last album was released in 2000. Its carrier single, "You Are The One" reached No. 8 in the music charts.

From then on, Lance explored other interests, even trying his hand in theater with Romeo & Juliet in the dinner theater circuit. A must-talked about move on his part.

Now, the singer and songwriter in Lance comes up with a new single he recorded at his brother Rannie’s studios at Brattrax Records.

The single entitled "The Beautiful Sun" is typically the new Lance, an edgy pop rock music which – he says – speaks of his message, his "single man" style with a girl who inspired him in the past.

The sound is obviously different from the "packaged Lance Raymundo" of old. As he puts it now, his music then, his clothes, his hair, everything was packaged.

"Now this is a part of my maturirty," he insists. "Before, I took the safe side. Now that I am older, I am expressive of what I want through my lyrics, sound, image and even my lifestyle."

So the new Lance comes forward with the Beautiful Sun single which will be released also in different mixes. It will be available in September.

But already, this single is produced by brother Rannie’s Brattrax Records with My Destiny Broadband Internet as sponsor.

Lance is set to start his bar tours as soon as his single is released next month, says his PR, Leo Cruz (0918-5179549).

His second full album will be released this coming January.

Lumusong na rin sa pagpapa-sexy ang nakababatang kapatid ni Rannie Raymundo na si Lance Raymundo. Si Lance ang feature model sa bagong coffee table book for women, ang Skin.

Sabi, inilantad ni Lance ang kanyang magandang katawan, pati na ang kanyang malagong buhok.

At siyempre, bukod sa malagong buhok ni Lance, naaninag din ang kanyang masarap na karne sa suot niyang manipis at hapit na hapit na white boxer shorts.

Hindi raw mabibigo ang makakakita ng mga larawan ni Lance dahil kilala si Lance, pati ang kuya Rannie niya sa pagkakaroon ng malalaking kargada, bukod pa sa parang gatas sa puti at makinis na balat nila.

Sa totoo lang, nasorpresa ako sa pag-pu-pose ng seksi ni Lance, dahil alam naming produkto siya ng La Salle (Greenhills).

Sabi nga namin, baka ma-shock ang mga friends niya, pati na ang Mommy at Daddy niya dahil sa ginawa niyang paghuhubad.

"I don’t know? Hindi nila alam na nag-pose ako. Malalaman ko lang ang reaksyon nila ‘pag nakita na nila ang coffee table book.

"But I’m old enough naman to decide for myself. And it’s the in thing nowadays. Kukonti lang naman ang nabibigyan ng ganitong offer. Siguro, masasabi ko na I’m lucky enough to be chosen," sabi ni Lance.

May kinalaman din sa lalabas na album ni Lance ang pag-pu-pose niya ng seksi, na kung saan ay carrier single ang The Beautiful Sun, mula sa Brattrax Records.

Kasama sa deal ang pag-attach ng sampler ng album sa coffee table book.

Isa ito sa gimik para maka-generate ng interes ang lalabas niyang album bago ito i-release early next year. Kuwento nga ni Lance, para makasiguro siya na ilalagay ang sampler ng carrier single niya sa coffee table book, sa pictorial pa lang ay hindi na siya nagpakiyemeng maghubad.

"Tinanong ko sila kung serious sila about my single. Sabi nila, yes! When I heard that, nagtanggal na ako right away ng damit."

At bago matapos ang taong ito, lalabas naman ang billboard ni Lance sa Edsa bilang endorser ng MyDestiny Broadband Internet.

"Nakakatuwa nga, kasi I’m visible ngayon doing photo shoots for different magazines. Kahit paano nakikita na nila uli ako. Nababalitaan nila na I’m releasing an album soon," say ni Lance.

Siyanga pala dapat sana ay nasa Amerika ngayon si Lance para sa kanyang pagmumodelo. Nung nag-pose si Lance sa isang photo shoot para sa isang fashion magazine sa States, nagkaroon siya ng maraming offers para mag-modelo.

Pero, naisip ni Lance na ang pagkanta ang hilig niya.

Nang nasalubong namin lately si Lance Raymundo, halos hindi namin siya nakilala.

Iba ang ayos ng buhok niya. Hindi na katulad ng football players na wavy at mahaba.

Pati pananamit niya, iba na rin. Parang college boy na siya. Ayon sa kanya, iniwanan niya na ang kanyang ‘packaging’ dahil mas mature na siya ngayon.

Kahit na ang music niya, bagong tunog na rin. Ihinahanda niya na ang single na Beautiful Sun na ilalabas niya early September.

Kinumpos niya ito at ni-record sa Brattrax Records ng kuya niyang si Rannie Raymundo. Magsisimula na siya ng kanyang bar tours to promote the single.

Saka na ilalabas ang full album niya, na gagawin niya sa Viva Records.

Lance Raymundo gets daring and aggressive!

When singer, model and actor Lance Raymundo mentioned that this has been an abundant time in his life – did he mean his career and his ###### life?


After coming from a serious relationship, the eligible bachelor said he has been getting dates left and right. He stressed though that he is not playing around, but rather is on the look out for a new girlfriend that he’ll be committed to even probably for the rest of his life. He confessed though that he, once again, is enjoying his single life.

With regards to his career, his recent break-up inspired his composition "The Beautiful Sun" which he is promoting right now. This single also signals his return to the recording industry which he left for almost six years. To top it all, his soon–to-be- released album will feature his compositions and his kind of music as compared to his debut album under Viva Records which contained mostly ballads. This time around, the public will hear the real Lance with his rock music!

"Finally, I have an album. Naudlot before because, truth to tell, it was all my fault, ako yung nagho–hold back because I wasn’t happy with the project. It was supposed to be an album of revivals. Pero it’s not really me to do revivals and I wasn’t inspired so hindi ko magawa-gawa," he admitted. "I found it weird releasing a product that I don’t like especially if I spent five years writing new materials. This has caused the delay."

He also added that "The Beautiful Sun" is more than just a song about a girl he once dated. It is also symbolic of his relationship with the music industry.

"The girl also represents the Music Industry whom I once had a working relationship but with a half-baked effort on my part. Now that the industry gave me another chance, all the way na ako para sulit. Hence the line in the song: ‘If only I could have another chance with you, I swear you’d wanna go all the way. Coz I’d do it better now!’"

Doing better meant becoming aggressive for Lance. In promoting the single alone he has contracted an ex–deal with the magazine Frontman and Music Channel Magazine to include a free copy of his single in their magazines. He also sought the help of his Club DJ friends so he could come out with different dance versions of "The Beautiful Sun." According to him, he would even have his own rack at Tower Records and Music One to display his special single CD. There’s also a music video which will be included in his coming album.

"It’s still untitled but my line-up is complete and I wrote all the songs in this album. It’s going to be rock and dance pero hindi ko pa iniiwan ang easy listening aspect because Filipinos love this kind of music," he described.

He is also proud that his upcoming album is basically guitar-oriented and recorded with live performance music and not the programmed or electronic music.

So how did he convince Frontman to carry a free CD of "The Beautiful Sun?" Simple — he took off his clothes for the said magazine (geared towards the female market). A project of former Talent Center executive turned photographer David Fabros and Mel Navarro, Frontman features Filipino celebrities. And it is also thematic like each celebrity has his own story told through sexy photos.

Lance’s picturesque exposure in Frontman was inspired by the Vampire Lestat and according to him it took from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. to finish photography. His story starts as he was lured to a haunted house by a woman’s spirit. Upon entering, he takes off his clothes, goes to a room and then the bathroom, and takes a shower. He then falls asleep and wakes up a vampire!

"Because I was trying to bring back my singing career, I made a deal with them and when David okayed it, I said let’s do it...since we know na mabenta yung mga ganitong magazines so when they see me looking like that and they see my CD they remember that I was a singer," he smiled.

So how daring were the photos?

"I’ve never done anything as close to that. Basta in the shower I don’t even know how they’re going to crop it. I wasn’t actually wearing anything at the shower. I wasn’t wearing anything because I trust David Fabros, he photographed me tastefully while taking a shower so I think they’re going to crop it as tastefully as possible because this is for women," he replied.

Another photograph of him he deemed daring was wearing tight boxer briefs from Bench.

"It was tight-fitting so lahat ng details ng anatomy ko nandoon. Alam na nila secrets ko which I don’t think it’s a bad thing because I’m proud of myself. It will even-probably lead me to more dates especially now that I’m single," laughed Lance.

But is this his last ditch effort to revive his singing career?

"Actually, it’s more of a welcoming. I’ve been gone so might as well do something different. Plus the original concept of a Lance Raymundo was not me. I’m not the innocent, virginal boy–next-door which Viva Records introduced to the public…it’s more of finally mabura na yung pretentious image that I’ve put out before…I’m not a Ken doll and Frontman is just a way of reintroducing myself as I am!"

Aside from Frontman, Lance has also kept himself visible and available to his fans through website. He has also been consistently appearing as a guest in a number of TV shows and other magazines like Celebrity Living. This for him will complement well with the release of his album soon.

And speaking about "complementing," he wants to clear the air that though his contract with his talent manager Angie Magbanua has expired, she still remains her manager. If ever he hired a publicist, it is to complement his manager’s job.

"I’m very aggressive now. I’m a lot more confident. I’m a lot more true so I think it’s going to work this time. I’m really having fun!"

Lance Raymundo exposed


MODEL, fashion icon and singer Lance Raymundo, despite baring his brawn, is in absolute denial. “This is the real me! No image building. I wanted people, especially my fans to see my real persona as an artist,” he explains publicity photos highlighting his musculature.

The 23-year-old younger brother of fellow singer Rannie Raymundo did work as model for a time in the United States. Locally, he has been a full-time model of men’s denims.

More than just a model, Raymundo has become a fashion icon. He is a regular columnist of a new fashion magazine called Style.

Lance Raymundo has a pet project called Sdolara.com that aims to bring together talents like artists, musicians, models together with photographers, producers, handlers and media people in the industry into one big pool sites where they can exchange ideas, contacts, post their profile and work experiences. It will be the first fashion/music/entertainment online community. It has already 2000 members as of this moment and still growing and it open doors to aspiring talents.

Despite his hectic schedule, Raymundo boxes every morning. “It’s one way of realizing tensions and maintain good physique!”

Now at 26, Raymundo wants to be taken seriously as singer. “I’m coming up with a CD, all originals, all my own compositions. Hopefully my album will be release by Viva January of next year,” Lance reveals.

Do you still remember that incident at the Music Museum early this year when a female fan threw her underwear to Lance Raymundo in the middle of his concert? The incident created quite a stir in the concert circles. For the local concert goers, it was unusual. Was he doing a Tom Jones or an Engelbert Humperdinck whose fans would go up stage, throw themselves on their idols and rip their clothes off?

Lance who staged the concert soon after he came back from a modeling stint in Los Angeles early this year, was surprised. But this was proof that his charisma and appeal only get better through the years.

Lance broke into the recording scene in 2000. He was doing ramp and commercial modeling when a chance to record an album landed on his lap. The self-titled album released under Viva Records spawned the hit single You Are The One. It reached No. 8 in the Top 10 charts. It was a ballad that skewed him from his dream of being a rock singer. But that was part of Lance’s deal with the recording company. He was young, eager and a bright-eyed hopeful who wanted to penetrate the world of mainstream entertainment. Lance wrote 12 songs in that album, made a dent and won three major awards.

But after a lull in recording, Lance appeared in a number plays with the Gantimpala Theater Foundation. He took the lead in Romeo and Juliet. He also accepted an offer to do modeling jobs in the US.

But singing is where Lance’s heart is. Soon after setting his foot in Manila this year, he staged a concert at the Music Museum and this is where the underwear throwing incident happened. Now, Lance is back in the recording scene again. He signed a new deal with Viva Records for a new CD to be released in 2007. But prior to the release of his CD from Viva, Lance collaborated with his brother Rannie and produced the rock/pop single Beautiful Sun. He also teamed up with DJ Jade and DJ O.J. and came up with Sunset Remix, Solar Eclipse Mix, an electro/tribal sounding mix. Rannie came up with an acoustic mix. Lance says that he wants to re-establish his presence in the recording scene and gain momentum for his much awaited CD from Viva.

BINIGYAN kami ni Lance Raymundo ng CD copy ng kanyang The Beautiful Sun. First single release ito ng kanyang full album na lalabas sa January under Viva Records. Produced at ni-record ni Lance ang single sa Brat Trax Music owned by his brother Rannie Raymundo, na full support pa rin sa kanya.

Pini-play na sa different radio stations ang kanta na inaasahan ng binatang magpapabalik sa kanya sa music world. May two versions ang music video ng kanta: may pang-TV at uncut version na six minutes tatagal.

Sa tsikahan namin, inamin ni Lance na three years na niyang crush si Lara Morena at hindi problema sa kanya kung separated ang singer-actress and has two kids. Lalong ’di problema kung older si Lara sa kanya.

Lance Raymundo releases uncut sexy music video

Not to be wholly deterred by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), singer-songwriter Lance Raymundo releases this month the uncut sexy video for his latest single "The Beautiful Sun" on DVD format under the independent label Brattrax Records.


The original six-minute version of the video was edited for public airing by the classification board due to its length and alleged risque content. There, Lance and a female partner were megged lying on bed nearly unclothed.
