Chris Lawrence tells status of relationship with Jasmine Trias By ANTONETTE VALDEZ–PUA
Candidly and proudly, singer Chris Lawence, winner of "ASAP’s" Star In A Million, admitted that he and Jasmine Trias have been dating for one month now.
"Super swak kami. Aside from having the same talents, we’re both from the States, we grew up the same way and our zodiac signs are very compatible," 23 year old Chris told the
Manila Bulletin last Monday.
He’s not exactly into astronomy or zodiac signs of women that he dates, but he exerts effort to find out everything he needs to know about a girl if he’s really interested in her.
"I had the opportunity to really know her in Japan where I was guest in her concert and we got to be really close. Although we’ve done shows before that particular concert, it was the first time na na–solo ko siya because I was her only guest," he added.
Although aware that singer and co–"ASAP" performer Mark Bautista had once expressed strong feelings for Jasmine during the latter’s first visit in the country, Chris said it did not hinder him from letting Jasmine know how he truly feels.
"Mark and I are OK, there’s no friction between us so I don’t really see any problem," Chris cleared.
Although living apart from each other, Chris and Jasmine always find time to be together whenever the latter is in the country for a visit or vice versa. Truth of the matter is, Chris revealed they had a great time last Sunday during their date at Greenbelt, Makati where they saw "Pirates of the Caribbean."
"It was a great movie and it was so wonderful just being with her. The fire is just so strong whenever we’re together," he expressed.
According to Chris, it would be inaccurate to say that he and Jasmine have a serious commitment to each other already because they are still between the stages of dating and a serious relationship.
When asked how he’s faring in the courtship stage, he quipped, "In the States, we don’t practice courtship but I know of three stages that a boy and girl go through. We call the first stage talking, the second is seeing each other and finally the third is the boyfriend–girlfriend stage," shared Chris.
However special Jasmine is to him, Chris confessed that there are disadvantages to being apart from the person that you love.
"The physical aspect is hard. When you talk on the phone, your minds grow together but you don’t grow together physically," he stressed.
Despite that reality, Chris said nothing is impossible to God that’s why he’s leaving everything up to Him.
"He’s my bestfriend so I’ll let him decide for me," he quipped.
While waiting for a sign from his bestfriend, Chris is putting all his energies in his craft by constantly performing in and out of the country. On Sunday he leaves for the US for a series of shows in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Alaska, Honolulu, and Miami.
Chris’s self–titled album with the carrier single "Kung Malaya Lang Ako" is still out in record bars.
