Philippine Airlines Flies Between Manila, Vancouver and New York

Monday, 16 March 2015 00:00

The FINANCIAL -- Vancouver Airport Authority on March 15 welcomed Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) new service to the Big Apple, connecting Manila, Vancouver and New York.

The new service will add four additional flights a week between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and has an added benefit of increasing flights between Manila and Vancouver from seven to eleven flights a week.

“We are thrilled that Philippine Airlines has introduced this new service connecting Manila, Vancouver and New York,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “British Columbians now have increased flexibility and choices to fly to New York City to watch their favorite Broadway show and the Philippines to enjoy a sunny destination.”

The new service departs from Manila every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:50 a.m. and arrives in Vancouver at 8:50 p.m. the same day. After a quick transit stop, the flight departs from Vancouver at 10:50 p.m. and arrives in New York the following morning at 7:00 a.m., according to Vancouver Airport Authority.

The return flight leaves New York every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and arrives in Vancouver at 1:50 p.m. for a transit stop. The flight departs at 3:20 p.m. and arrives in Manila the next day at 8:35 pm.

“Today will not just mark the launch of PAL's Vancouver - New York service; it will also kick off an expansion of our Canadian operations," said Jaime J. Bautista, President and COO, Philippine Airlines. "Vancouver will be the main beneficiary of this increase, going from seven to 11 flights weekly. This gives our passengers here a wider choice of schedule. I invite everyone to join us as we embark on the next phase of our Canadian journey - Vancouver to New York JFK."

PAL will operate an Airbus 340-300 for its regular operation with a seat capacity of 256 seats – 36 in Business Class and 218 in Economy. Passengers will experience PAL’s signature in-flight service featuring business class seats that convert to full-flat beds, an in-flight on-demand entertainment system and gourmet cuisine designed by top international guest chefs.
