Shin Splint Pain: Treatment and Prevention
« on: April 15, 2019, 07:04:03 PM »
I myself, as a mobile Chiropodist tend to allow 40 min Organic Fungus Nuker between appointments as I tend to apply massaging creams after treatments and pair off even minor callouses etc., as well as perform vascular and diabetic checks on each visit - I like to do a thorough job and do not like to rush! But then I do charge a slightly higher fee for that extra patient care. Many of my colleagues can be in and out in 10 Min's but should charge less. What you have to be careful of as a patient looking into Chiropodist prices is that first you have found a Chiropodist and not a foot health practitioner (FHP). Essentially they may perform a similar function to a Chiropodist but they neither have the training, insurance or professional requirements as a fully qualified Chiropodist/Podiatrist.Sterilisation of instrumentation and disposal of medical waste may vary with an FHP also, so it is always advisable to check with the practitioner that they are a qualified Chiropodist/Podiatrist before undertaking their services.

The biggest giveaway will be the Chiropodist prices - They will typically be much higher in comparison to an FHP price structure. FHP's tend to be able to offer a much lower rate because their overheads are much lower. But beware, you maybe getting what you paid for!
So What Are Typical Chiropody Prices. In my experience the average mobile Chiropodist in the south of England will charge between £25-£35 with the average being around £28 for a half an hour visit. Surgery prices tend to be around five pounds less than this but again it can depend on the type of treatment needed. If they are much less all much higher than these figures I would question why and what kind of service they will be offering for this fee.

Nail surgery starts from around the £120 mark including local anaesthesia. Bio-mechanical Assessments and Gait Analysis usually begin around £60-£120 and increase with Orthotics to anywhere upward of £180-£300.So when checking your local Chiropodist prices bear in mind their business costs and check with a few to see if prices are similar. Don't always go with the cheapest service, because when it comes to your foot health, don't take any chances!Mark Daws is a mobile Chiropodist/Podiatrist in the UK, registered with the Health & Care Professions Council, with over 12 years' experience in the industry. He owns and writes for the website Mobile Chiropodist.co.uk about all kinds of foot health problems.
