MANILA -- After some six years as a GMA-7 talent, Ynna Asistio recently took up her first project as a Kapamilya contract artist.

The 21-year-old actress on Thursday appeared in a taped episode of the ABS-CBN game show "Minute to Win It," along with her mother, actress Nadia Montenegro.

Host Luis Manzano welcomed the celebrity contestants to the program, mentioning Asistio's move to be part of ABS-CBN's talent management firm.

"Nakakapanibago seeing you here. Welcome to ABS-CBN, and you're now part of the Star Magic family," Manzano told Asistio, whose father is former Caloocan City Mayor Macario "Boy" Asistio, Jr.

Prior to signing up with the Kapamilya network, Asistio starred in several GMA-7 series.

The young actress, who is also set to appear in an upcoming episode of the weekend drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya," expressed gratitude for the warm welcome she has gotten since switching networks.

"Sobra 'yung pagtanggap nila sa amin. We didn't expect na magiging gano'n. Thank you kasi simula pa lang, ang saya-saya na at sobrang busy na, so thank you po talaga sa ABS-CBN," she said.

Montenegro, meanwhile, appeared overjoyed in saying her daughter can expect her full support in pursuing her "dream" of becoming an actress.

"I'm not surprised [that they are following in my footsteps], because in the house, it's always a party. There's always a host, there's always a model, there's always an actress, there's always a dancer. So talagang I'm just really so overwhelmed and blessed and so grateful that their dreams are coming true!" she said.

Early this year, Asistio's showbiz dreams took a back seat when she was dragged into a legal tiff with her former talent manager, Annabelle Rama.

Montenegro had accused Rama of "child abuse" for the latter's alleged mishandling of her children's showbiz careers. Both camps have since reconciled, prompting the dropping of legal charges they had filed.

Luis Manzano vs Jennylyn Mercado; Couple Unfollow Each Other on Social Media

Posted on August 17, 2013 | 11:31 AM

Showbiz couple Luis Manzano and Jennylyn Mercado will be pitted against each other weekday mornings when their shows go head-to-head starting August 26.

Luis Manzano versus Jennylyn Mercado in weekday mornings with Anak Ko Yan hosted by Jen clashing with Luis' Minute to Win It

The new parent-kid reality show of GMA-7 Anak Ko Yan (That's My Baby), hosted by Jennylyn Mercado, will directly compete with Luis Manzano's game show Minute to Win It on ABS-CBN. The two programs will literally clash since both will be shown on the same timeslot.

Jennylyn Mercado posted on Instagram a screenshot of Luis Manzano's comment about her earlier post on the timeslot of her new show Anak Ko Yan.

"Announcement… Dahil nag decide ang management na ipagtapat an minute to win it sa anak ko yan….Nag decide rin kami ni @mercadojenny na i unfollow ang isa’t isa at wag na muna magusap habang umeere mga show namin, hope you understand… :p hehe," Luis said.

The screenshot was captioned by Jennylyn: "Yes... Wala munang i love you, i miss you, lambingan, hug at kung ano ano pa. Di muna siguro kami rin magkikita muna at maguusap. (Pero kami [pa] rin syempre) yun lang muna sa ngayon. Hope you understand. @luckymanzano."

Jennylyn in her interviews said that she told Luis about the impending clash between their shows. She also said that they just love to joke around but both support each other no matter what. She also assured that there will be a healthy competition between them.

We will see in the coming days on who will emerge victorious between the two and their competing programs. One thing is for sure though--Jennylyn is the winner in Luis' heart.

The team battles are interesting but then again I would like something different.

Has MTWI gone as far as it can? Will IDY2 or BOYB take its slot soon?

How about Barangay MTWI's on location? Make it a little interactive. And what if they went live? Another MTWI first? :) (I still miss HYY's Ikaw Ang Bida and 1TBT)

On Monday, it will be The X Factor vs PDA stars! Might be looking forward for that.

Good suggestion... a live barangay version of MTWI. I would love to see it and it does seem like it would be a first.

Sadly I pick and choose what episode to watch. I used to watch all the episodes on the daily. It's just not that entertaining for me nowadays.

...

Just curious... has anyone won 1 million on the show yet?

No one has won the million yet. P500k has been the closest in any of the formats.

Glad to see the P1 million won for, of course, a great cause to keep the momentum going for the relief efforts.

Nothing new about everything else though... I want to bring up again the idea of a live Barangay MTWI, maybe MTWI live in general, because if they go live, it brings more of a surprise factor, and they won't have to overly edit the show.

If all else fails, bring in daily The Singing Bee, Family Feud, Pilipinas Game KNB, any game show. The game show genre has been more than alive and well this year thanks to MTWI, Bet on Your Baby and The Singing Bee.
