A soap for Piolo and Iza in the works

Big Brother must be proud of several of his former housemates who have joined showbiz, like Beauty Gonzales, 22, from Dumaguete and was part of “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus” in 2008.
Beauty was the fourth placer in that contest, which saw Ejay Falcon emerge as the champ.
Ejay, currently in the US on a concert tour with Vice Ganda, is currently one of the most promising talents of Kapamilya. Given the chance, he said he wants to be an action star, in the mold of Senator Bong Revilla and Robin Padilla.
“Ako naman,” said Beauty, who got positive reviews for her performance in the still-showing hit movie, “Starting Over Again,” “gusto ko, maging drama or comedy performer. Although, sa status ko ngayon, na gumagawa pa lamang ng pangalan, I am willing to try any role assigned to me.
“I’m so glad that Direk Olive (Lamasan of ‘Starting Over Again’), allowed me the chance to be noticed in the movie, considering na ang mga kasama kong si Toni, Piolo (Pascual) at Iza (Calzado) ay pawang magagaling.
“She even promised to include me in her next (directorial) assignment,” she added.
Aside from Beauty, other famous PBB alumni are Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Robi Domingo, Jayson Gainza, Sam Milby and the funny couple, Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros.
Now expecting their first baby, Jason and Melai’s romance started inside Kuya’s house.
The two were last featured together in “Honesto,” which is one of ABS-CBN’s most admired and top-rating shows.
In the case of first PBB Teen winner Kim, who will soon be seen in “Ikaw Lamang,” a primetime soap on ABS-CBN, she is forever indebted to the reality show. “I’d say that PBB changed my life and that of my family’s,” she said
She was, after all, a simple student in Cebu when she auditioned for the reality show upon the prodding of her friends.
Now, the rest is history.
“Ditto with me,” said Gerald, who was once the other half of the famous “Kimerald” tandem.
Now, of course, Kim and Gerald have gone their separate ways and appear in projects with different partners.
He will soon be seen as Fredo in the fantasy series “Dyesebel,” starring Anne Curtis. Also featured in the same project is another PBB housemate, Sam Milby.
Robi was an Ateneo student when he joined PBB Teen Edition in 2008.
He is now a most promising TV host. He is currently one of the co-hosts of Iza Calzado in ABS CBN’s second season of “The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Doubles.”
Also fast-emerging as a TV host is Jayson Gainza, formerly an OFW in Saudi Arabia.
“Parang suntok lang sa buwan ang pagsali ko sa PBB,” Jayson related. “I was hoping na, kahit papaano, mabago ang buhay ko. At ng aking pamilya. I wanted a job which would not take me away from my family. At natupad ito after my stint sa PBB.”
Jayson is now a mainstay of two gag shows, “Banana Nite” “and Banana Split Extra Scoop.”
He pits comedic talent as well with John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga in the sitcom, “Home Sweetie Home.”
*** Guess what’s next for Piolo Pascual and Iza Calzado after “Starting Over Again”?
Well, if plans do no miscarry, they might do a series together, “Hawak-Kamay,” which possibly will have Ruel Bayani as director. Raymundo Dizon, Business Unit head of ABS CBN, might produce it.
“Bale pangatlong team-up na namin ito ni Papa P,” Iza said, “Before ‘Starting Over …,’ we also did ‘Milan.’ But that was 10 years ago.
“Mabuti naman, I didn’t have to wait that long bago kami muling magka-trabaho ni Papa P.”
Iza joins the line up of hosts of the daily ABS CBN noontime show, “It’s Showtime.”
She is also seen every night hosting the reality program, “The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Doubles.”
Iza said she feels truly blessed that her Fil-Brit boyfriend, Ben Wintle, understands her busy schedule.
“Kung sabagay, he himself is busy,” she stated. “Kasi, he is into sports at may inaasikaso ring business. Like me, he is dedicated sa work.”
Although Iza admits that like Toni Gonzaga, her co-star in “Starting Over Again, she is of the marrying age, she has no plans to settle down yet.
“Besides,” she laughed, “he has not yet proposed.”
