MANILA, Philippines – Kapuso actress Lovi Poe is being buzzed as the latest recruit of the Kapamilya network.
Lovi’s transfer, a source told Manila Bulletin, will not likely happen this year but in 2013. Already, the Kapamilya network is said to be preparing for her grand entrance to the ABS-CBN fold. A primetime soap will be her maiden project for the network in case the move pushes through.
Currently, Lovi is working on her next drama starrer, “Yesterday’s Bride” where she will be paired with Rocco Nacino. It will be her second time to work with the young hunk having acted together in “Love Bug.” The soap is an afternoon drama to be launched soon by GMA.
To beef up interest in the afternoon soap, a plug capitalizing on Lovi’s award-winning achievements has been running for two weeks now.
In a past interview, Lovi shared that she attended “Yesterday’s Bride” story conference and engaged in a brainstorming with the writers of the show.
Lovi also shared that unlike her past TV roles, this time she will play a meek-as-a-lamb character, describing her role as “mahinhin.”
Lovi’s last primetime drama for GMA-7 was “Legacy” where she shared stellar billing with Alessandra de Rossi and Heart Evangelista. She played a spoiled brat vying to be the sole heiress of a company owned by her father (Eddie Garcia).
Lovi just came from the successful screening of “Thy Womb” at the 69th Venice International Film Festival. She walked the red carpet with Nora Aunor and Mercedes Cabral.
