MANILA, Philippines - Actor Coco Martin denied that he was the third party in the breakup of Enchong Dee and Julia Montes.

Montes was Martin's leading lady in last year's phenomenal series "Walang Hanggan."

In an interview during the launch of his endorsement of Max's Restaurant on Tuesday, Martin stressed that his relationship with the young actress is strictly professional.

"Ka-trabaho ko lang si Julia at saka bata pa yon," Martin told reporters. "Labas po ako diyan, hindi po totoo 'yan. Ayaw ko naman pong maging third party."

In an earlier interview, Martin has been quoted as saying he may court Montes once the actress turns 18 this year.

But the actor stressed that his priority right now is still his work.

"Sabi ko nga, sa family ko ay wala na akong time. Kapag siningit ko na 'yon eh wala nang matitira sa akin," he explained.

He also said he prefers to have a non-showbiz girlfriend.

"Wala pa nga eh. Pero gusto ko talaga kung mayroong pagkakataon, ayaw ko ng taga-showbiz kasi mahirap eh lalong lalo na ako seloso ako. Hindi din magwo-work kaya hanggang maari ang gusto ko ay simple lang," he said.

Asked if his goal in 2013 is to find a girlfriend, Martin told ABS-CBNnews.com: "Kung darating, pero kung hindi okay din naman."

No 'me' time

In the interview, Martin, who is working on the upcoming TV series "Juan dela Cruz" as well as a movie with Montes, admitted that there are times when the fatigue really hits him.

"Actually kung ang katawan ko napapagod pero ang puso't isip ko ay hindi kasi ang tagal kong hinintay ito. Sabi ko hindi ito binibigay sa lahat ng tao. So ito sabi ko iga-grab ko ang lahat ng opportunities na mayroon at pangangalagaan ko kasi alam ko one of these days ay mawawala ito at sana ay makapag-iwan ako ng magandang alaala bilang ka-trabaho nila," Martin told ABS-CBNNews.com.

In fact, Martin revealed that he "collapsed" several times during the taping of "Walang Hanggan" because of fatigue.

"Pero hindi naman ako pwedeng huminto. Kasi kapag huminto ako eh didiretso pa din yan. So hanggang maari kahit makapagpahinga lang ako," he said when asked how he fights stress.

Julia-Coco film not 'Walang Hanggan Part 2'

Julia Montes and Coco Martin

MANILA, Philippines - Young actress Julia Montes made it clear that her upcoming movie with actor Coco Martin is not the big-screen version of their hit TV series "Walang Hanggan".

Montes made the statement as some people have been assuming that their newest project together, "A Moment In Time", is connected to the love story of Daniel and Katerina of "Walang Hanggan".

"[It's] A new tandem of us. Siguro iniisip ng mga tao na another story ng 'Walang Hanggan' sa big screen. Pero it's a different story. It has different characters. Ibang-ibang kwento at iba-ibang character talaga," the actress said in an interview on "[email protected]" on Friday.

Montes, who rose to fame for her antagonistic role of Clara in the remake of "Mara Clara" alongside Kathryn Bernardo, said she is thrilled to work again with Martin and shoot some scenes for the film in Paris and Milan.

"Super fun. We never expected na magshoo-shoot kami abroad. 'Yung scenery kasi nakakadagdag doon sa love story namin. 'Yung good vibes noong scenery. So iba talaga," she said.

Montes added that she did not have a hard time doing the film because she is now more comfortable working with Martin.

"Ito, parang kumportable na kami sa isa't isa and we know each other well than before," she said.

As they embark on a new project, Montes appealed to her fans to support her first film with Martin.

"Noong 'Walang Hanggan', we never expected na ganoon ang feedback ng tao sa amin. Ito, big screen na ito, ibang usapan na. Hindi lang siya ililipat sa remote control, kung hindi pupunta ang tao sa moviehouse. They will spend time just to watch us. Iba talaga 'yung pressure. Sana, hopefully, kung paano nila sinuportahan ang 'Walang Hanggan', ganoon din sila sa movie," she said.

Directed by Emmanuel Palo, "A Moment In Time" also stars Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gabby Concepcion and Cherie Gil.

The movie is expected to continue the success experienced by the recently concluded "Walang Hanggan", which has been dubbed as a "phenomenal series" for spawning two soundtracks and merchandise such as jewelry and wine.

Coco Martin fulfills dream in 'A Moment In Time'

Actor Coco Martin and actress Julia Montes to star in the movie "A Moment In Time"

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Coco Martin was at a loss for words when asked about his excitement over his upcoming movie with actress Julia Montes.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Martin said he never thought his team-up with Montes would continue even after their top-rating series “Walang Hanggan” concluded late last year.

“Nung nalaman namin na may planong gawan ng movie yung team-up namin ni Julia, sobrang excited ako kasi 'yung narating ng ‘Walang Hanggan’ [ang layo na]. Lalo na makakasama ko si Julia, this time hindi na sa soap, sa pelikula na,” he said.

Martin said he accepted this project without hesitation because it offers a unique story with twists in the end.

“Excited ako lalo na nung kinuwento sa akin 'yung storya. Gusto ko kasi every time gumagawa ako ng project, hindi siya yung sa palagay ko ordinaryo na kilig-kilig or drama. Gusto ko laging may twist sa dulo,” he said.

Unlike in "Walang Hanggan" where they both shared intense and serious scenes, "A Moment In Time" will show the lighter and more romantic side of Martin and Montes.

“Maganda ang kwento, magaganda ang location namin. Nag-shoot kami sa Amsterdam, nagpunta kami sa Paris para dito. Sabi ko dati, dream ko gumawa ng pelikula sa abroad. Sakto naman itong pelikula namin, storya siya sa Pilipinas at sa abroad,” he siad.

Saying this movie fulfilled his dreams as an actor, Martin said "A Moment in Time" will be their offering to their fans who unwaveringly supported them since the beginning of their team-up.

Slated for release in theaters nationwide on February 13, "A Moment In Time" tells the romantic and emotional journey of Patrick and Jillian, who both sought true love and tried hard to hold on to it.

But they would soon discover that something could always shatter a seemingly perfect fairy tale.

Yes, me Tulips na! Hahahaha! Charot!

Anyway, dumako tayo sa 18 Roses. ‘Eto ang nasa list: Jerome Ponce, PJ Endrinal, Albie Casiño, Arron Villaflor, Robi Domingo, Sam Concepcion, Joem Bascon, Khalil Ramos, Enrique Gil, Daniel Padilla, Paulo Avelino, Rayver Cruz, Sam Milby, Jake Cuenca, Richard Gomez, John Lloyd Cruz, Coco Martin at Sir Deo Endrinal.

Nakukulangan ba kayo?

Oo nga, ‘no? Parang may kulang?

Honestly, kami mismo, gustung-gusto naming maging sila.

Hahaha!

I love you, anak! Isa kang anghel sa iyong pamilya, ipagpatuloy mo ang isang pagiging mabu-ting anak, kapatid at apo!

Julia Montes Plays 15-Year Old Prostitute in MMK

Before her highly anticipated grand debut celebration this month, Kapamilya teen actress Julia Montes will give viewers an early birthday treat via her upcoming “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode, where she will portray the role of Diana, a 15-year-old dancer-prostitute.

“When I learned that I’ve got a new ‘MMK’ project, I wanted to start taping immediately. Then when I knew about the story, I got more excited to do it because it’s a chance to show the TV viewers a different side of me,” said Julia. “At first, I wondered how can I portray the role since it’s really different and mature. But I accepted the challenge.”

Together with Julia in the “MMK” episode this Saturday (March 9) are Kiko Estrada, Daisy Reyes, Mike Lloren, Giselle Sanchez, Wendy Valdez, Kazel Kinouchi, Madz Nicolas, Glenda Garcia, Joe Vargas and Alexa Ilacad. It was researched by Akeem Jordan del Rosario, written by Enrique S. Villasis, and directed by Ted Boborol.

Coming from the success of the phenomenal teleserye Walang Hanggan that welcome her in mature roles after Mara Clara, Julia will be doing heavy drama on this episode.

MOVIE REVIEW: ONE MOMENT IN TIME
Written by : Mario Bautista

WE were so impressed by Manny Palo’s debut film last year, the Cinemalaya indie entry “Sta. Nina,” so watching him bungle his first mainstream movie in Star Cinema’s “A Moment in Time” is painful for us.

This starts as the usual rom-com, with a “cute-meet” scene at the film’s start. Patrick (Coco Martin) sees Jillian (Julia Montes) by chance inside a commuter train and immediately gets infatuated with her. He searches for her and, since he’s a painter (who also works as a waiter and delivery boy for a chicken resto), he paints her portrait on the walls of public places (without him being accosted by anyone for vandalism.) At this point, Coco is shown to be a jolly, free spirited young man, doing goofy things, forever smiling like an idiot and shouting “Baby, Baby” each time he sees Julia in public. He energetically chases her car several blocks down the road and even pretends to have been run over just to get her attention. Like a stalker, he goes to Julia’s school and serenades her in the street while other students surround them.

All these efforts are meant to be “kilig” scenes, just like what John Lloyd Cruz does in his past films, but, sorry, Coco wasn’t really able to carry them well the way JL did with aplomb. He just looks silly and ludicrous. He’s a poor boy, she’s a rich girl, but with all his relentless wooing, she falls for him and they share some good moments together, until Coco learns that Julia is the driver of the hit and run car that killed his mom (Zsa Zsa Padilla) years before.

It’s understandable for Coco to get mad at Julia, who didn’t know her victim was killed as her very wealthy parents (Gabby Concepcion and Cherie Gil) took care of everything without informing her about what really happened. But he suddenly softens up and they’re sweet again, and then for no reason at all, he suddenly changes his mood, gets all sullen and becomes very mean to Julia who even humbles herself asking for forgiveness.  The jolly, bubbly Coco makes a 360 degree turn in his personality and has become so “galit sa mundo.”

From being a rom-com, the movie turns into serious drama. Spurned and humiliated, Julia, a violinist, goes to Amsterdam to study music. Then Coco changes his mind again and suddenly chooses to search for her in Amsterdam, doing menial jobs until he chances upon Julia again. By this time, we have lost all our interest in the film and any remaining sympathy that we have for its stupid characters.

It’s Julia’s chance to play hard to get this time, particularly when it’s revealed that she’s engaged to be married to Joseph Marco (in such a thankless role with three brief sequences). Just as when we’re saying Coco just got what he surely deserves for his boorishness, Julia changes her mind again suddenly (there are so many sudden things in this movie) and they’re reconciled for the forced and obligatory happy ending while making “pasyal-pasyal” around Amsterdam and Paris (thanks to their promo tours there for TFC.) The end.

After their successful team up in “Walang Hanggan”, Coco and Julia certainly deserve a better first outing on the big screen than this crummy movie that humiliates them both. Coco’s character seems to be bipolar or have a split personality and he’s not that well equipped to supply the elements that his role lacks. Even more pathetic is Julia for her equally badly written role that leaves her nothing to work on. Although Coco is considered the hottest actor on TV now because of the success of “Walang Hanggan” and “Juan de la Cruz,” we’re afraid he has yet to come up with a real hit like JLC on the big screen. In contrast, though, JLC’s films are all blockbusters but we all know what happened to his last soap, “Beautiful Affair,” that was quickly terminated due to lackluster ratings. Well, we guess you can’t just have it all.

Julia Montes' Success Story

Julia Montes had a hard life growing up. The eldest of three siblings, Julia is now the bread winner of her family as her Filipina mother is hearing and speaking impaired. She never met her German father and it was her grandmother who supported her and her family in her younger years.

At times money was too tight that they had to scrimp on food budget – their entire family would just share one corned beef mixed with cabbage and rice for dinner. Julia told me that she rode a trolley to work. A trolley is an illegal vehicle contraption made by people living near the railroad tracks. Julia chooses to ride the trolley because it is the quickest mode of transportation from where she lives so she can make it to her tapings at ABS-CBN on time.

Now that she has saved enough money, she now has a car and was able to purchase a home for her family in a posh subdivision in Antipolo. Julia also gave her grandmother her own salon to run.
