Gary Valenciano’s latest album from Universal Records has been certified gold. UR general manager Kathleen Dy-Go presented the award during ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show, “ASAP Mania.”

Sa tutoo lang, 'yung kanta ni Gary V. for OFW's parang punebre. Walang kalatoy-latoy. Sobrang lungkot! Why do we have to remind fellow Filipinos abroad of sadness and all that. Kung nagpapasalamat or singing about OFWs dapat ang tempo is upbeat hindi 'yung parang may inililibing.

Ayon kay Kathleen Dy Go ng UR, naka-octuple platinum (eight times platinum) na raw ito at pinarangalan si Gary sa ASAP Mania noong Linggo.

OCTUPLE PLATINUM: Another milestone for Gary Valenciano last Sunday at noontime show ASAP Mania. He received an octuple platinum (eight times 40,000 units) from Kathleen Dy Go, the general manager of Universal Records for the Gary V Greatest Hits.

Gary and UR are now looking forward for his current album to get two platinum certification to make it to the Diamond Award, equivalent to ten times platinum (400,000 units sold).

Gary Valenciano’s "Symphony of the Heart" (September 2, Araneta Coliseum)

A dream concert for he who has always been known for perfection must be really something. His first solo concert backed by a full orchestra with Ryan Cayabyab as musical director and conductor no less, Gary has topped past concerts with this one. It’s the kind of success that renders encores and repeats anti-climactic. So none were given. Not that one was needed.

Sa rami ng concerts, hindi namin alam kung alin ang panonoorin. Sa Araneta Coliseum lang, sunud-sunod ang concert starting with Never Gone Tour ng Backstreet Boys sa January 20. Next ang Lettermen sa Jan. 28.

Sa February 3 ang repeat ng MYMP…The Best ng MYMP. Sa Feb. 10 and 11 ang Forever After (A Fanta Concierto) nina Regine Velasquez at Ogie Alcasid kasama sina Ai-Ai de las Alas at Rico J. Puno.

Sa Feb. 12 ang My Mega Valentine concert ni Sharon Cuneta at sa Feb. 14, concert ni Andy Williams.

May Feb. 16 schedule rin ang Village People at may concert din ang Zombies, pero 'di pa namin nakikita ang picture nila.

Hindi lang sa Araneta Coliseum ang concert, may two-night concert din si Jason Mraz on Jan. 20-21 sa NBC Tent, The Fort, may Jazz Festival sa Podium from Jan. 20-23 at marami pang iba.

Aliw dumaan sa may Big Dome dahil palitang pini-play ang songs ng mga naka-schedule mag-concert.

May post Valentine's Day concert din sina Zsa Zsa Padilla at Gary Valenciano sa NBC Tent sa Feb. 18 and 19 billed Faces of Love 2.

Hay, 'di ito kaya ng powers namin.

Dapat guest si Gary sa concert ng MYMP, pero nag-beg off siya dahil sa leg injury nang tumilapon sa bike last December 31 sa Tali.

Badly bruised but no broken bones ang leg niya. Pati guesting sa concert ni Jed Madela ay pinalampas niya.

Gary V. I like him cause when he sings it's like he's talking with me. And many of his songs really touch my heart I've seen him in youth concert and he really is Mr. Pure Energy. I wonder how he sing and do the dance at the same time.

Kung dati’y 90 injections a month sa kanya ng insulin, once every three days na lang ang ginagawa ngayon ni Gary Valen-ciano para sa kanyang diabetes. He used to inject insulin three to six times a day, ayon sa wife ni-yang si Angeli. "But now, normal na ang buhay namin,"she said. "Hindi ko na kailangan siyang i-monitor every now and then at pareho na kaming nakakatulog nang mapayapa. "

Ayon kay Angeli, very effective and she calls it "magic" ang insulin pump na ikinabit sa katawan ni Gary. Maliit na gadget lang ‘yon na parang Easy Call noon, ang description niAngeli. Medyo expensive nga lang (P300,000) ang insulin pump na sa States pa ipinakabit ni Gary. Umiyak nga raw ito dahil for life nakakabit sa katawan niya ang insulin pump. At first, parang hindi matanggap ni Gary, ayon kay Angeli.

Tinatanggal lang ‘yon ni Gary kapag maliligo siya. Since kinabitan siya ng insulin pump, never pa siyang inatake. Parating normal ang kanyang blood sugar at wala rin siyang gluocoma na isa sa mga komplikasyon ng may diabetes. But of course, dasal pa rin ang matinding panlaban sa sakit ng kanyang husband, ani Angeli. By the way, may post-Valentine concert si Gary on Feb. 18 and 19. Titled "Faces of Love 2," sa NBC Tent ito with Zsa Zsa Padilla. This is for the benefit of Shining Light Foundation.

Masayang ibinalita ni Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano na effective ang insulin pump na ikinabit kay Gary Valenciano para gamutin ang diabetes nito.

Kung dati'y, 90 insulin injections per month ang ini-inject ng asawa, ngayon ay 10 injections na lang. Ang dating four to five injections a day, once every three days na lang.

Naka-attach kay Gary ang insulin pump at sa tanong kung for life na ito, ang sagot ni Angeli'y umaasa pa rin sila ng miracle from the Lord.

Ang dami na nga raw milagro ang ibinigay sa kanila, lalo na kay Gary, kaya malaki ang kanilang pasasalamat.

Magaling na rin ang paa ni Gary na naapektuhan nang tumilapon ito mula sa sinasakyang bike.
