HINDI pa rin magpapa-sexy si Mark Bautista.
   
When we went to Viva office to preview Ang Lihim Ni Antonio, we saw Mark who is a Viva Artist Agency talent at napansin namin ang paglaki ng katawan niya.
   
In fairness naman, hindi pa ganoong ka-buff si Mark so appreciable pa ang kanyang muscles but we suggested him na huwag na itong palakihin pa.
   
Wala naman daw si-yang balak, say niya sa amin. Masyado lang daw siyang lean noon so he added some muscles.
   
Cue na namin ito to ask him kung may pinaghahandaan ba si Mark sa pagpapalaki ng katawan niya like his acceptance to do sexy role.
   
Hindi naman daw, sabi ni Mark who is returning to the big screen via Singles ng Viva Films under Jose Javier Reyes.
   
Ayaw niya talagang magpa-sexy kahit sa tingin namin, isa siya sa may K na magbilad ng kata-wan not just for his body but because of his manly appeal. Lalaking-lalaki  kasi ang dating ni Mark who is way handsomer in person than in any of his pictures believe us.

A Little Bit

AT 26, singer Mark Bautista has yet to be romantically linked to any woman seriously. He admitted before that he has special feelings for Rachelle Ann Go when Christian Bautista was not yet courting her. She told him that falling in love is not among her priorities.
    
Things have changed now. Rachellle Ann and Christian have fallen in love and called it quits. Would Mark entertain  thoughts of courting Rachel the second time around?
   
“It never entered my mind. Ako ngayon ang mas career-oriented. I want to achieve so many things like international recognition as a singer. I also like acting and given a chance, I would like to be good as an actor. I love women pero sa ngayon ay hanggang crush o paghanga na lang ang nangyayari. It would be nice to have someone special to dedicate my songs to on Valentine’s day,” he confessed.
   
What about Riza Santos who did not hide her  admiration for Mark?
   
“Yes, I do like her a lot but the way I see it, she came here to the Philippines to penetrate showbiz and she is determined about it. Mukhang out muna para sa kanya  ang makipag-boyfriend.”
   
How do you find her sexy pictorial in a men’s magazine?
   
“They are beautifully photographed at sexy talaga siya. I also like the fact that she knows her limits.”
   
Another singing champ Mark greatly admires  is Sarah Geronimo.  “She is blossoming like a rose and it shows.”
   
Mark is busy promoting “I’ll Be Over You” culled from his recent album “Every Now and Then.”  He leaves for another series of shows abroad in March.

May katagalan din bago nasagot ni Mark Bautista ang tanong ng press kung bakit hindi siya kasama sa Valentine concert nina Sarah Geronimo, Christian Bautista, Erik Santos at Rachelle Ann Go? Ayaw pa nga nitong sagutin ang tanong at pilit iniba ang usapan, pero hindi siya tinigilan ng mga reporter.

Anyway, ang sabi nito, segment sa ASAP ng apat ang portion na ‘yun na pinalaki at dinala sa Araneta Coliseum.

May sariling Valentine concert din naman  si Mark sa Makati Shang-rila with Kuh Ledesma. Kung papayag si Riza Santos, gusto niyang imbitahan ang dalaga at puwede pang isama ang mga magulang para mas masaya. Also, kung papayag pa rin si Riza, iimbitahan niya ito after the show for a late dinner.

Samantala, nilinaw ni Mark ang tsismis na nakita siyang lumalabas sa kuwarto ni Rachelle Ann isang madaling-araw noong nasa Boracay sila.

 “Ang pangit ng isyung ‘yun at lumabas na may ginawa kami sa kuwarto niya. Nirerespeto ko siya at ang family niya. Iba ang closeness namin at matagal na rin kaming friends. Ayokong masira ‘yun dahil lang sa tsismis. Nagulat ako, paano ako nakitang lumalabas sa bedroom niya,” pahayag ni Mark.

Aalis pala si Mark sa last week ng February for a series of shows sa Canada and USA with Sarah, Rachelle and Christian. Sa April na ang balik nila at una niyang aasikasuhin ang release ng fourth album niya sa Viva Records. Excited din ito sa gagawing movie sa Viva Films entitled Singles, kung saan, isa siya sa leading men ni Rufa Mae Quinto a co-producer din ng movie. (NITZ MIRALLES)

Mark nagpasalamat nga wala iapil ni Rufa

Mikatawa si Mark Bautista dihang giingan sa PangMasa nga angay unta nga apil siya sa tell-all interview ni Rufa Mae Quinto sa Yes Magazine, diin nahimong kontrobersyal human mi-react si Jessa Zaragoza.

Matud pa ni Mark maayo na lamang kay wala siya ilakip ni Rufa Mae, hinoon dili man "intimate" ang ilang relasyon sa nahisgutang TV host ug komedyana.

"Naging magkaibigan lang talaga kami," pahiyom pa ni Mark. Pero dili malikayan nga maugkat ang intriga tali nila ni Rufa Mae tungod kay gitakda sila nga mohimo og pelikula sa Viva Films. Singles ang working title niini ug ubos unya sa direksyon ni Jose Javier Reyes. Sugdan kini nila karon April, inig balik niya sa nasud gikan sa 11-city concert tour sa USA kauban sila si Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go ug Christian Bautista.

Rachelle Ann Go, Mark Bautista magkasama sa hotel sa Boracay

MAY kumakalat na bali-balita na pinapasok daw ni Rachelle Ann Go sa kanyang silid sa hotel sa Boracay si Mark Baustista noong mag-show sila roon last December.
    
Although dinenay na ito ni Rachelle, at natawa lang nga siya sa mga isyung lumalabas sa kanilang dalawa ni Mark. 
   
Ayon mismo kay Ra-chelle,  ang kasama niya sa kanyang silid sa hotel ay isang  kaibigang babae. Pe-ro, ayon sa source namin na waiter sa hotel na ‘yun, totoong nagpunta si Mark sa room ni Rachelle Ann, at nagtagal ito roon. Sinamahan pa nga raw nila ang binata dahil hindi nito ka-bisado ang kinaroroonan ng room ni Rachelle Ann.
   
By the way, ang sinasa-bing hotel sa Boracay ay ang Discovery Shores.

Champions conquer Vancouver

VANCOUVER - It was astonishing, the way Filipino singing champions Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go, Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista were welcomed with so much warmth by the people of Vancouver, B.C. in Canada last March 1. It was even more elating to find them performing on the stage of the Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of the city. Filled to capacity by an enthusiastic audience, the former home of such memorable productions as Sunset Boulevard and Ragtime, became witness to a rousing show.

Even more amazing was the fact that so many people turned out on what was truly a cold winter night to watch kids whom they had already seen before. And with many of them paying the top price of $100 for the choice seats. That was why the show was titled The Return of the Champions. All of the stars had already performed there during the past two or three years. But I have to say that the Fil-Canadians so enjoyed their earlier visits and decided not to miss this one. Given how much fun they had, I am very sure they will be there again for a third or fourth time.

To the Champions' credit, they spared nothing to give the audience their money's worth. I honestly lost count of the number of songs they performed given the fact that several were overlong medleys. But you know how Pinoys are, be they homegrown or Canada residents, the more songs they get, the more they love the show and they certainly got their fill during that evening.

Sarah's contribution in this regard was a medley of songs by Air Supply but even these big-selling pop standards were no match to her own hits. The crowd marveled over how much she sounded like Celine Dion, first in her duet of Tell Him with Rachelle Ann and later in her rendition of her award-winning piece, I'll Be Waiting for You which launched her to stardom. But the showstopper of them all was her Forever's Not Enough. It was here that the audience, who, by the way, could not help but ooh and aah at her gorgeous gowns, gave her a standing ovation.

Rachelle Ann was in fine voice throughout. It was also a special occasion of sorts for the Search for a Star champ because it marked the premiere of songs from her new album Rachelle Ann Rocks. The live recording has her doing rock favorites and it was most impressive to watch her put her own pop spin to REO Speedwagon's The Search is Over, Aerosmith's Crying and Amy Grant's That's What Love is For. There was of course a duet with Christian. Now, the love may have already ended for these two. But the chemistry definitely remains and their medley of heartbreaking Somewhere songs was most beautiful and one of the highlights of the evening.

Christian and Mark, the Bautista boys, although not in any way related, were both on top of their game. Christian was cute, bumbling and funny. Mark was sexy, sweet and also funny. His hot medley of dance tunes brought the house down.

I am sure that the champions wanted to spend their time basking in their Vancouver triumph, but this was not to be. They had to leave on an early morning trip to Edmonton the next day, Sunday, March 2 for another show. Then there came Calgary on March 7, Winnipeg on March 9, Toronto on March 14 and to end the Canada tour, Montreal on March 16. These dates will be followed by more stints in the US. These are San Jose in California on March 22, Houston, Texas on March 28 and Anaheim, also in California on March 29.

Mark dumami ang matronang fans

SA isang episode noon ng drama anthology ng ABS-CBN na Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) ay gumanap ang singer-actor na si Mark Bautista bilang lover ng veteran actress na si Gloria Diaz.
    
Sa totoong buhay kaya ay posibleng ma-in love din si Mark sa isang babaing  parang nanay na niya?
   
"Para sa akin, parang imposible siguro. Pero kung ang age gap lang namin ay mga 10 years, baka  puwede," sabi ni Mark.
   
Wala pa bang matrona na lumapit sa kanya o nagpa-pansin na type siya nito?
   
"Nakakatawa, kasi  nu'ng mag-show kami sa U.S. last month, 'yung mga lumalapit sa akin, mga older women. Sabi  ko sa sarili ko, ‘Napanood kaya nila ‘yung MMK or 'yung Sana Maulit Muli  na si Gloria Diaz ‘yung ano ko?’
   
“Tapos sabi  ko, may im-pact din pala 'yung ganoon. Advantage din sa akin dahil yung market, may older na babae, tapos may mga bata rin naman. So nakakatuwa rin naman.
   
"May nagpadala pa nga ng sulat sa akin. Siguro mga 36 na yung girl. Sabi niya sa sulat, wala naman daw imposible, naglabas siya ng emotions sa akin. Ibinigay din niya 'yung number niya. Tapos may picture din siyang pinadala," kuwento niya.
   
Kahit may email address si Mark ng babae ay hin-di naman daw siya nag-email dito.
   
"Huwag na lang, kasi kung sasagutin ko pa siya, baka  umasa!" tawa ni Mark.
   
Sa ngayon ay loveless pa rin si Mark. Wala pa ba siyang nakikitang gustong ligawan?
     
"Wala muna," maikli niyang tugon.
   
Okey lang ba sa kanya  na zero ang lovelife niya?
   
"Siyempre, hinahanap mo rin 'yun. Pero darating din siguro ‘yung  right time at ‘yung right na tao."
   
Nasubukan na rin ni Mark na gumawa ng pelikula, yung Lastikman under Viva Films, kung saan siya pa ang bida rito.
   
Wala pa bang offer ulit na pelikula sa kanya ang Viva, na mother studio niya? 
   
"May gagawin ako dapat dalawang mo-vies sa Viva. 'Yung isa ang nag-backout. Hindi ko alam kung nag-change ng ano... ‘yung Gabby [Concepcion] na movie.
   
“E, nagbago lahat, wala na rin akong idea kung ano ang nangyari. I think si Rufa Mae [Quinto] may gagawing movie sa Viva. Baka makakasama ako doon. So hopefully this year, lalabas."
   
Okey lang ba sa kanya na gumawa ng pelikula  kung sa-an gay ang role niya at may kissing or love scene siya sa kapwa niya aktor?
   
"Nag-play na ako ng gay role  sa MMK with Janelle [Jamer].
   
“Nung ginawa ko yun, sabi ko ito na ang last na gagawin ko, ayoko nang gu-manap ulit sa gay role,” pagtatapos ni Mark.

MANILA, Philippines—I’m proud of all my awards because I worked hard for them and I feel blessed that my efforts have been noticed. That’s why my interior designer, Ida de los Reyes of Iba Design Group, and I thought of putting my record awards on the wall of the foyer leading to my bedroom. The wall would’ve looked plain without the framed awards. I got Gold Records for my three solo albums: “Mark Bautista,” “Dream On” and “Every Now and Then.” I was also part of the compilation CD “Hotsilog,” which also turned Gold. They’re all displayed here.
