Di ako fan ni Mark pero after I saw him ni MMK grabe instant fan nya na ako....ang galing nyang umarte at sa buong show di ko na trace na di sya bading.

SLOW AND FLAT GAY PORTRAYAL FOR MARK

WE watched Mark Bautista portray a gay role in MKK’s Korona. In most of the light scenes, he is generally good and acceptable. But when he tries to defend himself on why he joined a Miss Gay contest, his delivery went too slow.

We jumped to  another station and when we returned to MKK, he was not yet finished with his dramatic monologue. His portrayal was not only slow but flat. His OA wife,  on one hand, went ballistic with her litany of anger and  “sumbat.”  In the first place, she married him with her eyes  wide open so what is she complaining about? Nakakaloka.

Most of the male talents of ABS-CBN have played gay on soap or teleseryes and most of them have moved on to another network. We could only think of two male talents who would probably not venture doing such a role even if it happens to be the closet type.

MANILA, Philippines—Before joining the talent search “Star for a Night” five years ago, singer Mark Bautista was a third-year Architecture student at the Cagayan de Oro College and Engineering School.

Although he quit school when show biz beckoned, his background came in handy when it was time to build his dream home in Quezon City.

When the interior designers from IBA Design Group submitted their concepts, Mark was able to put in his two cents’ worth.

“I designed the spiral staircase,” he recounts. “Originally, the motif was ocean waves. But I suggested circles [as design pattern] on the railings since that corner is semi-circular.”

From a slew of shades that the designers presented, Mark chose olive green for the accent wall.

Collaborating with the design group was a breeze because the main designer, Ida Inocencio-de los Reyes, is also a backup singer on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show “ASAP,” where Mark is a mainstay.

“They also had to change the door. I wanted something more modern,” he notes.

Ultra-modish, with Asian touch

In a nutshell, Mark envisions his pad as ultra-modish, yet minimalist, with a distinct Asian touch evident in the Zen fabric lamps and L-shaped leather sofa.

Although he got the couch from a mall, the center table is from Mindanao.

“It’s actually a wooden chest, a gift from Gov. Imelda Dimaporo of Lanao del Norte,” he relates. “She gave it to me when Sarah Geronimo and I had a show in her province.”

It is not uncommon for Mark as a Viva recording artist to receive all sorts of gifts from friends and fans when he does shows here and abroad.

Matryoshka dolls from Russia and an exotic décor from Bali, presents from fans, are displayed in the living room.

US-based Pinoys have also gifted him with Oakley shades, a Sony PlayStation Portable and a Nintendo Wii unit.

When he’s free from show biz commitments, he usually tinkers with the computer, plays video games with his brothers, whips up home-cooked meals or watches concerts of foreign artists on DVD.

Georgina Baluyut, Ida’s co-designer, says that Mark conceptualized his bed’s brown padded leather headboard.

“The headboard features hidden book compartments,” says Georgina. “He wants his room to look modern and Asian-inspired at the same time.”

Mark the budding designer also indulges in a longtime passion, painting, at home.

Several of his oil and pastel art works are displayed in his bedroom, where he also set up a telescope he had bought in Chicago.

He admits that he’s fond of bringing home souvenirs from his numerous concert tours abroad, which have taken him to places as far as Switzerland and Alaska.

Mark was also insistent about building a pocket garden. “When my house was featured on ‘At Home Ka Dito,’ I requested for an Oriental-style garden with a fountain.

Since his two-story, three-room home stands in a tranquil neighborhood, he often feels as if he’s back in Mindanao.

It’s like having the best of best worlds, he explains.

When he started earning well, he had the family home in Cagayan de Oro renovated.

“That’s where my family lives, but they stay here whenever they’re in town. They flew in to watch my ‘Simply Irresistible’ concert at the Aliw Theater.”

Mark owns up that he’s currently torn between city and provincial living.

“Actually, I hope to settle down and retire in Cagayan de Oro someday. But my work is in Manila. Good thing that I found this city home in a quiet subdivision. It’s like being in the province so I feel right at home, too.”

PROUD na proud si Mark Bautista sa bagong biling bahay in a private subdivision also in Quezon City.

He even announced na since na-acquire ang nabanggit na bahay through pre-selling, nagkaroon siya ng tsansang mag-suggest kung ano ang gusto niyang baguhin sa original design nito.

Third year in Architecture pala si Mark before he joined showbiz. Well, napakinabangan niya ang natutunan bilang estudyante nang payagan siya ng contractor na tumulong sa noo’y itinatayong bahay.

Mark, kasama sa Batanes sina Piolo at Erik

Naka-bonding namin si Mark Bautista nu’ng weekend at natawa siya nang usisain namin tungkol sa lumabas na isyu sa kanila ni Rachelle Ann Go.

Napabalita kasi kamakailan na nakita umano si Mark isang mada­ling-araw na pumapasok sa kuwarto ni Rachelle nang minsang magkasama silang dalawa sa isang resort sa Boracay.

Paliwanag ni Mark, totoong nagkasama sila ni Rachelle sa isang event sa high-end Boracay resort na Discovery Shores bago mag-Christmas, pero never daw niyang pinasok ang kuwarto ng dalaga.

“Actually, mali ‘yung lumabas na tsismis. Hindi ako papasok ng kuwarto, palabas na ako! Hindi, joke lang! Ha! Ha! Ha!” tawa ng singer-actor.
Ayon kay Mark, hindi kasama ni Rachelle ang mommy nito nu’ng mag-Boracay sila at maging siya ay wala ring kasama.
Biniro namin siyang puwedeng-puwede niya palang masolo si Rachelle kung gugustuhin niya.

Sagot ng seksing singer, magkaibigan lang sila ni Rachelle at walang namamagitan sa kanila.

Ang alam niya ay nagkakalabuan pa lang sina Rachelle at Christian Bautista nu’ng mga panahon ‘yon, pero kung nagkataon mang break na ang dalawa ay wala raw siyang balak umeksena kay Rachelle.

May tatlong pastor na pumupunta sa kanilang Bible study at kapag hindi available ang sinuman sa tatlong pastor ay either si Piolo o si Mark ang nag­li-lead ng grupo.

After Christmas ay nagtungo ang nasabing small group nila sa Batanes. Nakasama rin nila roon sina Jeffrey Hidalgo, Direk Joyce Bernal, Jeff Tan (direktor na anak ni Bella Tan), Shayne Sarte (cinematographer na sister ng makeup artist na si Juan Sarte) at isang Cynthia (na taga-Star Records).

Tinanong namin si Mark kung bakit parang ‘yung ASAP boys lang ang very close at hindi nila isinasali sa grupo nila ang ASAP girls.

Kahit sina Rachelle Ann Go at Sarah Gero­nimo man lang, ayaw ba nilang isali?
“Mahirap na kasi ‘pag may girls, eh! He! He! He!” natatawang sagot ni Mark.
Mula Disyembre 26 hanggang Disyembre 29 yata sina Mark sa Batanes. Si Direk Joyce na bisi-bisihan sa pagdidirek ng Marimar ay humabol lang nu’ng Dis­yembre 28 at umuwi rin agad kinabukasan.

Rachelle and Mark in Boracay for work

A tabloid reported that Christian Bautista is aware of the sighting of Rachelle Ann Go and Bautista in a Boracay hotel room. This strongly suggests something romantic had developed between the two Viva Artist Agency stars. For sure, he knows! Rachelle Ann went to Boracay with Mark Bautista and Riza Santos to perform at the birthday party of the owner of Disovery Shore, now the most exclusive beachfront resort in Bora. Recall Buzzstation’s scoop about this? Will Devaughn was supposed to be with the group but manager Paula Punla did not allow it as it was not scheduled. The entourage, which included publicist Duds Santiago, stayed there from Jan. 7 to 10. So it is but normal for Rachelle Ann and Mark to be seen in a Boracay hotel or even in the same hotel room. There must be a dearth of showbiz news that is why there are manufactured buzzes again. Rachelle Ann is appearing with Sarah Geronimo, Erik Santos and Christian in the All For Love Valentine’s concert at the Araneta Coliseum on Feb. 8. Hugtanong gipanghimakak ni Mark Bautista ang balita nga didto siya sa lawak ni Rachelle Ann Go nagyampungad niadtong nagkauban sila sa tulo ka adlaw nga show sa Boracay Isaland niining bag-o lamang.

LOVE pa rin ni Mark Bautista si Riza Santos at kung papayag ang dalaga, gusto niya itong imbitahan sa Valentine concert nila ni Kuh Ledesma sa Makati Shangri-La.

Pati parents ng dalaga ay iimbitahan niya sa show at simula na ito ng muling panunuyo niya sa dalaga.

Inamin ni Mark na may konti siyang selos sa closeness nina Riza at Will Devaughn, lalo’t mas una niyang nakilala ang dalaga.

Ayaw lang niyang umeksena agad at alam na bini-build up silang loveteam ng ABS-CBN, ayaw niyang makigulo at ayaw maging kontrabida sa fans ng dalawa.

Iniiwasan nitong maakusahang nakikisakay sa popularity ng dalawa.

Samantala, ibinalita ni Mark na may concert sila nina Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista at Sarah Geronimo sa Canada at U.S. sa February at April na ang balik nila.

Sa kanyang pagbabalik, ang launching ng fourth album under Viva Records ang aasikasuhin at isusunod niya ang shooting ng Singles ng Viva Films.

Excited ito’t isa siya sa leading men ni Rufa Mae Quinto, pero tinawanan ang sinabi ng press na baka ma-link na naman siya rito.

Love lang gihapon hangtud karon ni Mark Bautista si Riza Santos. Pero dili lang siya makaporma kay naa may Will Devaugh. Si Riza kanhi Miss Earth-Canada ug Second Big Winner sa "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2."

Kahinumduman nga sa wala pa si Will sa kinabuhi ni Riza nangulitawo na si Mark sa dalaga. In fairness, ang iyang drama kay "Una Kang Naging Akin" tungod kay sa wala pa mosulod ang kanhi beauty queen sa PBB house nagpakita na siya og interes niini.

Daghan ang nag-ingon nga hinay lang gyud ang iyang mga moves alang sa iyang gugma ngadto kang Riza. Tubag pa niya,  "Hindi naman. Umalis kasi ako noon for a series of shows abroad and then pagbalik ko naman, pumasok na siya sa PBB" .

Gawas niini, medyo dili nindot ang dating  kang  Riza sa pagpangulitawo  niya  niini kay na-publicize dayon. "Parang medyo inisip niya yata na ginagamit ko siya na ako naman, hindi naman ganu'n ang intensyon ko. At hindi ko rin naman kasalanan because nun'g nagkaroon kasi ng launching ang album ko, she was one of the guests and may mga press kasi du'n, kaya na-publicize na agad," butyag pa ni Mark.

Sa pagkakaron, kinahanglan niyang ibalik ang trust ni Riza kaniya. Medyo nagduhaduha si Mark sa balik  niya nga pagpanguyab niya sa dalaga tungod kang Will. Wala siya kahibalo kung unsa gyud ang real score ug dili pud siya gusto nga mahimong  kontrabida sa loveteam sa duha.

Pagkakaron busy siya  sa pagmugna sa iyang next album human sa "Every Now and Then".
