Meron na kaming kopya na ito and we really enjoy listening sa mga kantang nakapaloob dito like Anak, How Did You Know, Kailangan Kita at kung anu-ano pa.

    Gary Valenciano

    Bakit tayo nagka ganito
    Binitiwang pangako bigla lang naglaho
    Laman ng isip ko
    Laman ng puso ko
    Iniwang alaala ng ating nakaraan

    Ngayon ako'y nag-iisa
    Umaasa pa rin muling makikita
    Tanong ng isip ko
    Tanong ng puso ko
    Paano nga ang buhay ko
    Ngayong wala ka na

    Ikaw lamang ang minahal
Ikaw lamang ang lagi kong dinadasal
Kahit kailan pa man ako'y maghihintay
Araw-gabi ang tangi kong hiling sa Maykapal
    Ikaw lamang, ikaw lamang

    Tanong ng isip ko
    Tanong ng puso ko
    Paano nga ang buhay ko
    Ngayong wala ka na

Ingatan ka at hagkan ka ng mahigpit
    Hawakan niya ang puso mo
    Hanggang sayong pagbalik

Binigyan uli ng standing ovation si Gary after singing Break Me.

Hindi agad makauuwi ng bansa si Gary after his US tour dahil magpapa-check-up ito.

    Re: Gary Valenciano (OT)

    Q & A with Angeli Valenciano:
    What if Gary V dies?

    By JOJO PANALIGAN

Very few could imagine Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano without life. Even if everybody has known he is afflicted with juvenile diabetes, his 22 years in the business marked by vitality both literally and figuratively have seemingly scoffed at the illness. He dances while singing, puts out records one after the other, does concerts almost every week, represents humanitarian causes, is on television all the time.

But is Gary really that strong? Or, like the song that he popularized, is the warrior in him really just a child? What if death that has hovered all these years because of his health condition finally decides to strike? What if Gary Valenciano dies?

These are tough questions his wife, Angeli Valenciano, bravely took on during a recent one-on-one. Frightening, sobering, and ultimately inspiring, her answers redound to stronger forces that have kept Gary Valenciano alive:

When was the last time that you and Gary spoke about the worst implication of his diabetes?

"We don’t have to talk about it because the danger is always there. Given the type of diabetes that he has, I know that Gary could go anytime. Death harasses us all the time. But I always reject the idea because I believe God is stronger in death. It’s not denial—everybody will eventually pass away. But I cling to God’s words that He is the way, the truth and the life. Take note: The Life. As long as we cling to Him and His words, death will not come until Gary has accomplished everything God has set for him to accomplish."

How many times have you experienced Gary having an attack?

"Just this year he’s had several. And I’ve been married to Gary since in the ’80s when he was diagnosed with the disease! The first time I saw him having an attack was in 1984. I remember it vividly because we just got married and I was into my first pregnancy. I remember rushing him to Makati Medical and me thinking, ‘It’s going to be a lifetime of this.’"

"The last time was during his recent concert in the U.S. It happened while he was sleeping and looking back, I think angels woke me just in time. You see, because of my scoliosis, I have to sleep in a certain position and that is with my back to Gary and facing the opposite direction. But that night I woke up with a start just sensing that was having an attack. I didn’t panic immediately because I’m used to it. It was when I saw him slipping in a coma did fear start creeping inside me. He had turned cold and I had to pound on his chest. When these didn’t work, I got out my Bible and read to him Psalm 91. Then I heard a growl emanate from Gary and I knew that once again, God had been victorious over death. That Psalm 91 chapter has always been our lifeline when it comes to Gary’s diabetes. It’s where God promises abundant life to those faithful to Him."

How did you discover the verse?

"I chanced by it through Divine Guidance. During one of Gary’s attack, when I first thought of using God’s words to revive him, I put the Bible down and it opened to the very page where that chapter is found. It was a miracle; God’s way of showing me yet again that He is most real when death is near."

Can you anticipate if Gary is on the verge of an attack or when he is undergoing one albeit mildly?

"Yes. He becomes temperamental, has a hard time understanding anything said to him, etc. And those are just mild manifestations or implications. Apart from death, any diabetic is in danger of becoming blind, failing organs and wounds that don’t heal."

Do you still cry when it happens?

"I do but I don’t show him nor the kids my tears. The last time he had an attack, I went into depression. I only snapped out of it because Gary was about to hold his ‘Symphony of the Heart’ concert and I knew he needed all the support he can get. Inside, I also cry when I see Gary hurting from doing things to keep him alive. The simple act of him inserting a needle the wrong way that causes him to cry or box the wall causes my heart to break all the time. But what can I do? I—-we—just have to live with it."

Do you still pray for complete healing?

"Yes. And we’ve never stopped seeking help. After his current U.S. tour, we’ll stay for a few weeks in the States to seek the expertise of a diabetologist. We’re hoping he could put an insulin pump inside Gary so that he doesn’t have to rely on injections anymore for insulin shots. The pump will just release the insulin as needed. "

Why do you think God gave Gary the condition?

"I don’t know. But I do know that it has not debilitated us from reaching for goals. We still dream of being with the kids for a long time; still dream dreams for them and for us. I also think that it might’ve kept us together because it keeps us on our toes and keeps things in perspective. Like all married couples, our life together is not always a bed of roses. There are trials along the way. But whenever I’m about to throw in the towel and give up, I always go back to the question, ‘who’s going to take care of him?’ So, really, his diabetes is one of many reasons that have held us together. The first, of course, is God. Gary’s diabetes is like a thorn in the flesh that reminds us of our vulnerability as much as that we need to rely completely on God."

Do your children ask you about it?

"Yes. My son Paolo once approached me when he was 14 years old and asked, ‘Mom, why is Daddy still sick? I have been praying for him since I was two years old and yet he still has diabetes.’ My heart broke when I heard that. But I told her to never lose faith and to just continue praying. God has plans for each one of us and it’s not for us to question but to just accept and obey in faith."

But are there times when you do question?

"Never. Ask any doctor and they’d tell you: Gary is a living miracle. His existence today is a product of mercy and grace. He could’ve gone a long time ago but he is still here. He still has his eyesight, is not suffering from any complication related to the disease. I’d like to believe that it’s because there are still many things God wants him to do; not just in his career but to us, his family. He acts like a shepherd to us in that he always brings us back to God whenever we stray off the path."

How does diabetes affect your relationship with Gary?

"Apart from pain, it makes me more protective of Gary. For years, I have endured persecution from people who don’t understand why I’m so protective of Gary. But who will be if not me? Yes, I am strict when it comes to accepting commitments and enforcing conditions because it might jeopardize his health, his life. People don’t understand how deep my commitment to this duty runs because they don’t see Gary during his vulnerabilities. I do. Everyday. And that’s why I do the things that I do—must do the things that I do. And can you imagine the added pressure of death’s implications on other people who love Gary— the fans, particularly? What if fans see Gary at his weakest? How would fans react if Gary goes? It’s not just the family that will be affected by everyone whose lives he has touched."

What song of Gary do you think you’ll remember him by later?

" ‘Take Me Out Of The Dark’ and "Sana Maulit Muli.’ The first because the song has touched so many lives in a way love songs never can. Come to think of it, even his other inspirational song such as ‘Search And Know’ and ‘Letting Go’ are as important because they send different messages from God to people. This is the reason why I tell him to sing more of these in his shows. The last— ’Sana Maulit Muli’— because we wrote it together."

If you were to remember Gary by titles bestowed on him, what would it be?

"Pure Energy. I could say pure heart because he has that but I choose pure energy because, clearly, it’s energy that comes from no one else but God. And that’s why the energy is pure. God is Gary’s strength."

And how do you put into words the life Gary still enjoys today?

"Beyond words. As the Bible says, God’s mercy is new in the morning. Praise God."

Gary’s 2nd leg of US concert tour is another big success

We just got word that so far, Gary Valenciano’s second leg of his US concert tour is another big success.

Last Oct. 28, Gary performed in Seattle, Washington where Jasmine Trias jammed with him (she and her manager and almost all in the audience were in tears after hearing Gary V’s testimony); on Oct. 30, he did another memorable concert in Cache Creek, California; today, Nov. 4, he’ll do another show in Tampa, Florida; tomorrow, Nov. 5, he’ll perform at Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey; on Nov. 11, he’ll be in Pechanga, California and on Nov. 12, Gary will cap the 2nd leg of his US concert tour in Los Angeles.

On the first leg of his 2005 US concert tour, Mr. Pure Energy was given six standing ovations. At the Christian Broadcasting Network, Gary was presented by Michael Little, president, for a prayer meeting with Pat and Gordon Robertson with about 100 American staff of 700 Club in attendance.

Gary got standing ovation after his first song, "Break Me" which he sang nationwide last Oct. 4. He also got standing ovation at the Family Hament Church after singing "Messiah! God is Good."

Even while he’s away, Gary’s fans could still feel his presence through his latest album, "Pure Heart" which has earned a certified Gold status after barely two months since its release. With the continuing good performance of the album in the market, it’s expected that "Pure Heart" will soon turn Platinum!

From the album, which by the way is Gary’s first with Star Records, has been culled another hit single, "Destiny," which also features "Queen of Soul" Ella May Saison. The first single from "Pure Heart" is the song "Ikaw Lamang," which has become a cult hit of sort.

"Pure Heart" is a very special album for Gary and it’s not only because it’s his debut recording with Star Records. For the record, Gary is still with Universal Records but even the late Bella Tan fell in love with the "Pure Heart" project that she at once gave her blessings to Gary to do it. Gary said he did the album in appreciation of ABS–CBN’s all-out support to him and all his projects all these years.

The album features the movie theme songs that Gary sang for Star Cinema movies like "Anak," "Kailangan Kita," "Because of You" and "How Did You Know." These are songs that bring out the deeper side of Gary, and made even more special with new arrangements.

The year 2005 has been very fruitful for Gary, who said it’s really been an eventful year, perhaps the most eventful in his 20 years in showbiz! "I feel stronger than ever, and I feel better. I hope that next year would even be better."

So, to what does Gary attribute his success and longevity?

To a number of things was Gary’s answer. One which is very crucial to any artist, is good management "to guide you and make sure that both parties are satisfied." In Gary’s case, he has for a manager his wife Angeli who’s assisted by Gary’s sister Gina V. Martinez. "My wife has not only taken care of my career, but most especially my life, and our family and children."

Another factor, according to Gary, is love for one’s craft. "You have to be true to your craft, you have to love it." And you should know and understand that that gift comes from someone - God." Gary lives, he said, according to His promise - "I will make you green and fresh all the days of your life. I will give you food even in your old age..."

Nakasaad sa text ni Angeli na, "Gary V installed an insulin pump in his body, attached via a needle with a tube and pager-like apparatus! Just saline solution pumping in his body to experiment muna. Then, insulin when he is ready."

Kasama rin dito ang pag-i-install ng insulin pump in his body attached via a needle with a tube and pager-like apparatus.

    Re: Gary Valenciano (OT)

    Gary V: Simply the best

    By Tony T. Vizmonte
SUPERSTARDOM for Gary V was expected, if not totally predictable. He has built a major following with his music and dance movements. In his early years, Gary V. didn’t impress the critics much, often dismissed either as just another popular singer or a talented singer capitalizing on the popularity of Michael Jackson.

“He’s been compared to pop icon Michael Jackson with a big difference. After all no one can really say that the original moonwalk guy is capable of being a role model for the youth as Gary V., a UNICEF ambassador of goodwill. Jackson had topped the charts, too, but can he also sing songs of hope and inspiration and praises for Him? Can Jackson give in to impromptu requests from the audience, give songs upbeat twists, or rearrange a batch of hits in, uh, exciting ways one invariably fail to notice the accommodation to make up for slim time left? And while Jackson wannabes are a dime a dozen, our own is such a livewire, so talented and versatile a performer one wonders if there would be another Gary Valenciano after Gary Valenciano,” writes LA-based journalist Diony Grava.

Gary had been to the Los Angeles concert scene many times in his 20 years in showbiz. I never missed a show and always witnessed people who were enthused with his performances. This is one of the most endearing and revealing of all his appearances in LA. It’s not just a Gary V. show and his music, but it’s something even more rare. There’s a spirit that helped shaped that music.

“Mr. Pure Energy” was again in his best element. He projected an awesome presence during his Nov. 12 performance at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

There were no annoying backup dancers familiar in some shows. There’s just another flavor, a much applauded duet (“If I Ain’t Got You”) with a shy and talented 12-year-old daughter Kiana plus another duet with a guest appearance by Side A’s Joey Generoso (“Tuloy Pa Rin”). As usual, Gary was backed up by Powerplay Band headed by Mon Faustino. Powerplay Band delivered the goods and brightly duplicated the best versions of such hits as “Hang On,” “Hataw Na,” and “How Did you Know.” GV held nothing back, even on such plainly regular numbers as “Hataw Na,” “Eto Na Naman,” “Di Bale Na Lang,” and “Shout For Joy.” Forever in motion, he simply drove the crowd wild.

Gary V has now loosened up considerably as a performer, thanks to ASAP in which he is one of the hosts. He also has distanced himself from playing the role of a “preacher.” When someone shouted, “Don’t make us cry,” Gary said he’d give them hope.

What was a heartbreaking moment was when Gary told the audience that recently he was diagnosed with a lung growth and an irregular heart infection. The lung thing was cleared, he learned in a subsequent checkup. A leak in his heart still exists! Another trial in his life! Forever optimistic and with an abiding faith in the goodness of the Lord, Gary V predicted that the malady would clear in no time at all. With resounding encouragement, the audience cheered and agreed.

Apparently hundreds of fans believed Gary’s performance was magical. The capacity crowd sang along on many tunes such as “Sana Maulit Muli,” and “How Did You Know” and cheered the singer’s slightest movements. He also dedicated a number to all the mothers in the audience. He paid a tribute to his Puerto Rican mother with a video presentation set in time with his heartfelt rendition of “Historia de un amor.”

More than ever, Gary really projects an unusual warmth on stage and a genuine appreciation for his fans. When he was singing a medley of Christian songs, it was obvious that Gary V. was belting from the heart on his last stop of this concert tour. It was an exhausting concert performance that rivaled any spectacle this year, or last year. It’s all due to one man, diabetic at that, who needs no special effects, less video projections, and no impressive stage backdrops. In fact, Gary V drew the packed audience to its feet just by standing center-stage and singing songs at the same time showing off.

The finale was seemingly unending. It took a long, long while before the total performer called it a night but the audience wouldn’t let him go.

    Re: Gary Valenciano (OT)

Gary, hindi nagtatrabaho para sa awards
PARINIG NGA!

Ang limang kanta sa album ay theme song ng Star Cinema movies – "Anak," "How Did You Know," "Because of You," "Ikaw Lamang," at "Kailangan Kita". Ang kanta namang "Kailan" ay tribute ni Gary kay Ryan Cayabyab, "Lipad Pangarap" theme song ng Filipino Channel for 2006, "Destiny" at isang inspirational song na paborito ni Gary na "Lift Up Your Hands" na release ng Star Records.
