yea magaling sina gretch at atom considering they are neophytes...pero may iba dyan ilang buwan na rin as reporters, juice me, hindi makapagreport ng impromptu, naghahabol sa mga salita at hindi marunong magbasa ng cue...sana more training pa po sa kanila para maging magaling sila tulad ng mga dating news reporters ng ABS.

i will watch the special docu ng ABS for TV patrol and its 20 years of existence....nakakamiss rin yung mga veteran reporter! 

im sure kasama si lola mel dyan...ipaalala natin sa kanya na hindi naman puros masama ang naranasan nya sa ABS...mas maraming magagandang bagay ang nangyari sa kanaya...kaya sana wag na syang mag-bitter-bitteran!

ABS-CBN's 'TV Patrol' celebrates 20th year with special documentary

“In its 20 years of quality service, 'TV Patrol' did more than just deliver news— it empowered a nation,” according to ABS-CBN Corporate Communications Head Bong Osorio on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Network's flagship news program.

The network has put together an hour-long special documentary titled,"TV Patrol: Dalawampung Taon ng Pagpapatrol", highlighting its pioneering spirit, its legacy, defining moments, as well as a glimpse into its future in the coming years.

"[The documentary] “goes back in time to relive history— the stories that were told, the people who made the news and the faces who brought the news to the people,” said Osorio.

Former reporters and anchors Vice-President Noli De Castro, Korina Sanchez, Jay Sonza, Freddie Garcia, and Angelique Lazo will also be seen in this anniversary offering.

Now reformatted and renamed as “TV Patrol World”, ABS-CBN's flagship newscast continues its commitment to provide news and information in the service of the Filipino.

The newscast continues to distinguished itself for promoting Citizen Journalism, which was first applied in the investigative program “Hoy Gising.”

New communications technology through mobile phones helped empower Filipinos in becoming, even for the briefest instances,journalists in their own right. This empowerment through cellular phone technology became evident in "TV Patrol World"’s segment "Citizen Patrol".

Later on, ABS-CBN’s breakthrough election campaign, “Boto Mo iPatrol Mo” helped Filipinovoters guard their ballots and do their partinlessening incidents of election fraud.

The special one–hour documentary will highlight TV Patrol’s firsts, its legacy, and its defining moments and also relays what the audience can look forward to in the coming years.

"TV Patrol: Dalawampung Taon ng Pagpapatrol’ goes back in time to relive history — the stories that were told, the people who made the news and the faces who brought the news to the people," said ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio.

One of the show’s historic marks happened during the Martial Law when they broke media silence and brought information to the people.

Until now, "TV Patrol World" continues to pursue this dedication for truth and constantly involves the citizenry though Citizen Journalism, which was first applied in "Hoy Gising." hhhmmm..panonoorin ko 2. I've been a TVP fan since noli-ka kiko-lola mel-angelique days..

watched this 20th year documentary on tv patrol. my, I cried after seeing ms. mel tiangco and mr. jay sonza. it's great they they were kind enough to grace this occasion. well,  their popularity soared due to their appearances in abs-cbn's shows, tv patrol & mel and jay. does this mean that all's well now between ms. tiangco and abs-cbn? hope so. but if there are people i really miss from tv patrol, it's mr. frankie evangelista and mr. ernie baron. it's great that kuya kim is doing justice as mr. baron's replacement but how bout for ka kiko? sana there's a part two for this 20th anniversary  coz you failed to show some other highlights of tv patrol--such as the coverage of ed lingao in iraq, jim libiran in afghanistan (if i recall it right, he was with ed lingao) and if possible, the transformation of the people of tv patrol. ang gagandang lalaki na nina vp noli de castro & henry omaga-diaz today compared noon ha? at si ms. mel tiangco & charie villa, they look pretttier now compared to the way they look before. but anyway, happy 20th anniversay tv patrol. thanks for being a part of my life.
