Alfie Lorenzo*** Kasama sina Paolo Valenciano at Karylle sa concert nina Gary Valenciano at Zsa Zsa Padilla na Faces of Love 2 sa Pebrero 18 (Sabado, 8:00 PM) at Pebrero 19 (Linggo, 7:00 PM) sa NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City. Hindi ito basta repeat ng Valentine show nina Gary V at Zsa Zsa last year. Sabi ni Gary sa show, "We’re adding stuff into it -- rehashing some of the numbers, beefing up the others, to make the show more enjoyable as a whole. Plus, it will have a more casual feel than the previous one." Ang tiket sa Faces of Love 2 ay P3000, P2000 at P1,000, at available sa Ticketworld/National Bookstore branches: SM North EDSA, SM Cubao, SM Megamall, SM Centerpoint, SM South Mall, Shangi-La, Harrison Plaza, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Malate, Robinsons Cavite, at Robinsons Pampanga. Tickets are also available from the Robinsons Department Store Customer Service section (Malate, Galleria, Pampanga, Cavite and Festival Mall), Tower Records (Makati and Alabang), Ayala Center, Inc., the Greenbelt 1 and Glorietta 1 ticket booth at the cinema lobby. http://www.abante-tonite.com/issue/feb0906/main.htm

Love according to Gary & Zsa ZsaBy Maridol Rañoa-Bismark The Philippine Star 02/13/2006 Stage fright, or butterflies in the stomach, happens to the best of them. Gary Valenciano, he who has filled up huge venues near and far, admits he still feels nervous before a show. Zsa Zsa Padilla seconds the motion. But both agree they need the adrenaline surge, and the energy it gives. Gary and Zsa Zsa will depict the many faces of love – sad, happy, bored, corny, funny, what have you, in their show, Faces of Love 2 at NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City on Feb. 18, 8 p.m. and Feb. 19, 7 p.m. They will also draw on the rich experience in matters of the heart when they sing of falling in love in the weekend series. Zsa Zsa is fighting the pressure to marry Dolphy. The specter of her failed marriage (to dentist Modesto Tatlonghari) still hovers over her like a sword of Damocles. So, even if people urge her to go tie the knot, now that her marriage is annulled, Zsa Zsa says no. "They’ve been telling me to hurry up, given Dolphy’s age (78)," she reveals. But Zsa Zsa has put her foot down. She will marry not because she is pressured to do so, but because it’s the right time. And that time has not yet come, thank you. "It (the marriage) didn’t happen when it should happen," Zsa Zsa recalls a time when she and Dolphy were already planning the wedding. "I took it as a sign that it’s not yet the right time." What if daughter Karylle beats her to the altar by marrying Dingdong Dantes? The usually spontaneous Zsa Zsa is momentarily speechless. "I will be shocked out of my wits," she replies. "I’m not ready to be a lola!" In contrast, Gary is more open. He is ready to embrace grandfatherhood anytime. "My brother’s son already has kids. They call me lolo," relates Gary. He has briefed his children, especially the boys, Paolo and Gabriel, about love. "I tell them our hearts are made for love. And I tell Paolo I’d rather see him getting married than coming up to me one day and telling me he got somebody pregnant," Gary adds. Like a barkada, he even advises his sons about their LQs (lovers’ quarrels) with their girlfriends. "I tell them to just look at their mom (Angeli) and me. We also went through the whole process," states Gary. Zsa Zsa adopts a more strict view on love where her children are concerned. "I want my daughters to have their own lives and careers so they can invest their earnings. This way, they won’t depend on a man for support," she says. Zsa Zsa has no reason to worry. Karylle has yet to discuss marriage plans with her mom. Grandfatherhood seems a distant possibility to Gary, too. He knows Paolo and Gabriel have their own girlfriends. But none of them has told him and Angeli they’re ready to take the plunge. Gary doesn’t have that laidback view when it comes to youngest child Kiana, though. As the only girl in the brood, Gary plans to guard Kiana like a hawk when she grows up. "When she asks me at what age she can have a boyfriend, I tell her when she turns 28. And I’ll be bombarding her future suitors with a string of questions," says the protective dad. Now he’s sounding more like Zsa Zsa. The many faces of love, indeed! http://www.philstar.com/philstar/NEWS200602131704.htm

Gary, Zsa Zsa in ‘Faces of Love 2’ How many faces does love have? As Virginia Woolf’s character said in the movie: "For love... has two faces; one white, the other black; two bodies; one smooth, the other hairy. It has two hands, two feet, two tails, two, indeed of every member and each one is the exact opposite of the other. Yet, so strictly are they joined together that you cannot separate them." No truer words were spoken and apropos for the last year’s hit Valentine concert Faces of Love featuring Gary Valenciano and Zsa Zsa Padilla. Tonight comes the sequel Faces of Love 2 where Gary and Zsa Zsa portray the various faces (phases) of love. A joint production of Manna Entertainment Productions, Inc., Manila Genesis Entertainment & Management, Inc. and GV Productions, the sequel-concert goes onstage today, Feb. 19, 7 p.m. at the NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The sequel comes on the heels of public clamor for more of the Gary-Zsa Zsa team-up. Both seasoned performers – whether together or as individuals, whether on TV (as co-hosts on ASAP) or on the concert stage – consistently deliver excellent performers, making their interaction a joy to experience. Gary is still riding high on the success of his latest album, Pure Heart, under Star Records which has just been certified Platinum. Recently his Soul Full album under Universal Records turned Gold. Another feather to his cap is his being named as the most highly respected and wholesome TV personality of the year together with Christine Bersola by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children’s Television (SEAFCTV). This Feb., Gary will be featured as Celebrity VJ in MYX. On the other hand, Zsa Zsa remains exuberant over the box-office success of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry Ako Legal Wife, which won her a well-deserved Best Actress trophy. Celebrate with them as they surely will keep you enrapt with their selection of love songs from yesterday and today. Backing up Gary and Zsa Zsa will be ace Musical Director Mon Faustino together with Powerplay members (Tek Faustino, Mon Espia, Ed de Guzman and Ding Faustino) with additional touch of top-caliber musicians Michael Guevarra (saxophone and flute), Ferdinand Pantig (trumpet) and Sherwin Valencia (trombone). May Ann Casal-Soriano and Melissa Fontano on backup vocals. The beneficiary of the concert is the Shining Light Foundation which supports programs like adopting a scholar or a streetkid, paying for medicines of diabetics or sending missionaries abroad, to name a few. Sponsored by ABS-CBN, Star Records, Universal Records, Viva Records, Sennheiser, Joey 92.3, WROCK 96.3, Yes FM, Crossover, Philippine Star, Krokodile Grillery and IO Family KTV. Tickets to "Faces of Love 2" are available at R3,000, R2,000 and R1,000 at the following Ticketworld/National Bookstore branches, Robinsons Department Store Customer Service section (Malate, Galleria, Pampanga, Cavite, and Festival Mall), Tower Records (Makati, Alabang), Ayala Center, Inc., the Greenbelt 1 and Glorietta 1 ticket booth at the cinema lobby. For more details, call Manila Genesis Entertainment (721-4405 loc. 219, 111, 204 or 0917-8025418) or Ticketworld (891-9999) or visit www.garyv.com, www.manilagenesis.com or www.ticketworld.com.ph. http://www.mb.com.ph/ENTR2006021956695.html

The Box-Office Entertainment AwardsSTARBYTES By Butch Francisco The Philippine Star 02/23/2006 Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Inc. Let me hear you say that in one breath. I know it’s quite a mouthful so I don’t blame you for tripping over that. In fact, in the annual Box-Office King and Queen Awards presentation, the winners never get around to saying that correctly in their acceptance speeches. Many years ago, Vandolph Quizon, after being selected Most Popular Child Star, got his tongue so twisted trying to say the name of the organization that he gave up midway in his speech and ended up thanking "the people behind Guillermo Memorial Park." The Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Inc. was set up decades ago by a Bulacan businesswoman named Corazon Samaniego. She named it in honor of her late father, Guillermo Mendoza, once a Bulacan town mayor and philanthropist. Every year, Mrs. Samaniego puts up the Box-Office King and Queen Awards to recognize the most popular people in the entertainment profession. Proceeds from the TV rights and gate receipts go to a fund used to send poor students to school from Bulacan. On March 19 at the RCBC Plaza, the most popular on TV and in the movies will again be honored in ceremonies to be aired live by ABS-CBN. It will no longer be called Box-Office King and Queen Awards, but simply Box-Office Entertainment Awards. There will also be revisions in some of the categories. The organization, for instance, has done away with the Mr. and Miss RP Movies titles. In its place are Film Actor and Actress of the Year. Below is the complete list of winners in the 2005 Box-Office Entertainment Awards. • Box-Office King – Vic Sotto • Box-Office Queen – Kristine Hermosa • Film Actors of the Year – Aga Muhlach and John Lloyd Cruz • Film Actress of the Year – Zsa Zsa Padilla • Prince of Philippine Movies & TV – Richard Gutierrez • Princess of Philippine Movies & TV – Angel Locsin • Male Entertainer of the Year – Ogie Alcasid • Female Entertainer of the Year – Regine Velasquez • Male Recording Star of the Year – Christian Bautista • Female Recording Star of the Year – Sarah Geronimo • Most Popular Recording Group – M.Y.M.P. • Most Promising Recording Group – Orange & Lemons • Most Popular Loveteam – Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado • Most Promising Male Star – Jose Manalo • Most Promising Female Star – Toni Gonzaga • Most Promising Male Singer – Sam Milby • Most Promising Female Singer – Yasmien Kurdi • Dance Group of the Year – Sexbomb Dancers • Most Popular Novelty Singer – Vhong Navarro • Most Popular Child Performer – BJ "Tolits" Forbes • Most Popular Child Performers (cast/ensemble) – Cast of Mga Angel Na Walang Langit • Most Popular Film Producer – Star Cinema • Most Popular Screenwriters – Shaira Salvador and Ricky Lee • Most Popular Film Director – Rory Quintos • Most Popular TV Program – Encantadia • Most Popular TV Director – Mark Reyes and Gil Tejada Special Awards: • Bert Marcelo Lifetime Achievement Award – Bayani Agbayani • People’s Hero Award – Manny Pacquiao • Phenomenal TV Program of the Year – Pinoy Big Brother http://www.philstar.com/philstar/NEWS200602231702.htm

'I wanna be a gym ######!'

Gary, Zsa Zsa display strong bond in post-Valentine show First posted 09:53pm (Mla time) Feb 24, 2006 By Jocelyn Valle Inquirer Editor's Note: Published on page A2-6 of the February 25, 2006 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer AFTER HONing his performing chops as part of La Salle Greenhills' Kundirana in the early '80s, Gary Valenciano embarked on a professional career as a soloist. At around the same time, Zsa Zsa Padilla had just ended her stint with the popular Hotdog band to find her niche in the biz as a soloist. They both soon invaded the music scene and the movie industry, as well. Through the years, Gary and Zsa Zsa have forged a strong professional and personal bond that was on brilliant display in their recent concert, "Faces of Love." From the moment they mounted the NBC Tent stage to sing Barry Manilow's "Ready to Take a Chance Again" until they hit the last note of their finale number, "Weekend in New England," there was ease and energy in the way they interacted. This was particularly evident in the big-band era medley ("Baby, It's Cold Outside," "Can't Take That Away From Me") and the battle-of-the-sexes sequence. They then let the audience experience the magic of their first recorded collaboration, "Could We?." Gary and Zsa Zsa likewise shone in their solo numbers. Padilla performed songs from local soaps, while Valenciano sang movie themes. The duo looked ageless onstage. Then, they presented their special guests: Gary's son, Paolo, and Zsa Zsa's daughter, Karylle. Paolo and Karylle "taught" their parents newer songs by pop-rock acts, Hale, Kitchie Nadal, Barbie Almalbis and Rivermaya. And Gary and Zsa Zsa "imparted" music-history lessons to their kids via '80s tunes by The Police and The Go-Gos. http://news.inq7.net/entertainment/index.p...&story_id=67375
