Indomitable as a trio talaga ang veteran singers na sina Pilita Corrales, Carmen Soriano at Carmen Pateña, hindi lang bilang singers, but as interviewees as well.
   
The movie press had the chance to meet with them again sa presscon for the return engagement of their very successful concert (two-night) at the Music Museum.
   
Called the Golden Divas, the repeat performance will be held on May 30 at the SMX Theatre, Mall of Asia.
   
We had the chance na mapanood ang nabanggit na concert sa Music Museum and we simply enjoyed it. It’s always nice to listen to old songs rendered by singers na, wika nga, may “K” (karapatan).
   
Pilita and the two Carmens have maintained their golden voices not to mention their style, class and versatility.
   
Of the three, Pilita remains to be a singer to reckon with sa Pilipinas at sa abroad.
 Although she can very well retire in comfort, Pilita still continues to perform. In fact, may performance siya abroad on May 8.
   
Napapanood din siya sa TV. She and daughter, Jackielou Blanco were together sa Love Spell Presents: Cindy-Rella, na pinangunahan nina Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson.
   
Prior to Cindy-Rella, Pilita was a mainstay of a sitcom on GMA-7.

In fairness, magkakaroon ng repeat ang Golden Divas –Pilita Corrales, Carmen Patena and Carmen Soriano.

Super successful kasi ang naunang two night concert nila sa Music Museum last March. As in jampacked ang MM. Kaya lang ang naging siste noon, since mga majority sa nanood ay mga lolo at lola, nahirapan silang umakyat sa venue.

Yung iba, kailangan pang akayin ng mga ushers and usherettes paakyat lalo na yung ang ticket ay sa balcony.

Kaya nag-decide ang Viva Concert and Events na mag-change ng venue para naman hindi mahirapan ang mga lolo at lola sa pag-akyat. This time sa SMX na, sa may Mall of Asia. Dito nga naman, wala silang aakyatang mataas na hagdan.

In fairness uli, meron pa talagang following ang tatlong beteranang singer.

Since, mga senior citizen ang following nila, madadatung kaya afford nila ang gumastos kaya siguradong manood ng repeat ng Golden Divas nina Pilita, at ng dalawang Carmen ang mga nanood noong una at idagdag pa ang mga hindi nakapanood dati.

Si Mr. Vic del Rosario ang may idea na pagsamahin ang tatlong beteranang singer kaya nga nang makita niyang may demand pa para sa tatlo, nag-decide siyang  magkaroon ito ng repeat. –Salve Asis

Golden divas, mala-Madonna at Britney

THEY took their fans on an unforgettable ride down memory lane with two performances last March. Now, they are clamoring for a return engagement. So, the Golden Divas will be back to bring the good old days once more.
    
The indomitable trio of Pilita Corrales, Carmen Soriano and Carmen Pateña take the stage anew on May 30 at the SMX Theater, Mall of Asia.
   
Nostalgia has always been a powerful and personal link to the past, and music helps open the floodgates of memories.
   
The Golden Divas are not only part of the music of yesteryears; they helped define an era, stamping their class with their style and versatility.
   
Pilita is one of the first superstars of local television. That was the time when the whole family gathered before the black-and-white TV and constantly twiddled with the antenna to get a better reception.
   
The curvaceous Cebuana had already conquered radio long before that, and had been bequeathed the title, Asia ‘s Queen of Songs. On May 30, Pilita will once again charm her fans with her signature song, A Million Thanks to You.
   
Carmen P., whose singing career, like Pilita’s, covers international venues, will make audiences remember why she was dubbed as the “Shirley Bassey of the Philippines.”
   
She is expected to bring back memories with such songs as Wonderful Dream, The World’s Greatest Clown, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Ballad of a Sad Young Man and others.
   
Carmen S. will show music lovers she still has what it takes to keep them asking for more. She will render her signature songs, Ang Tangi Kong Pag-lbig, Bluebird, Bulung-Bulungan, Dahil sa Isang Bulaklak, Dalagang Pilipina and others.
   
The golden threesome will also add a touch of modernity by adding songs popularized by Madonna and Britney Spears to their repertoire.

Actress Lotlot de Leon told ABS-CBN's The Buzz on Sunday that she's still feeling the pain caused by comments made by singer Pilita Corrales in the aftermath of her separation from the latter's son, actor Ramon "Monching" Christopher.

On March 7, 2004 Lotlot had confirmed on The Buzz that she left the home she had shared with Christopher for 13 years because they were constantly fighting. "I left the house because hindi na kami magkasundo eh, mag-asawa," she said during that interview.

On March 2007, Lotlot filed a petition for the annulment of her marriage before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

More than a year later, on April 24, 2008, the QCRTC declared the marriage null and void after it concluded that Lotlot was not of legal age when she got married. The court also ruled for Lotlot and Monching to share custody of their four children.

Prior to Lotlot's live interview, The Buzz showed a clip of an interview with Corrales. The singer was asked what her thoughts were regarding the annulment of the marriage between her son and Lotlot.

"I am very happy because now Monching can move on and she can move on. Monching is happy now and I hope that she’s also very happy. I hope na she also finds her own happiness," the singer replied.

Later, Pilita told The Buzz crew that she and Lotlot are still not on speaking terms.

"She hasn’t spoken to me dahil galit talaga siya sa akin. So I don’t know why pero, wala naman akong kagalit sa mundo. Siguro sya lang ang may galit sa akin. Pero if it makes her happy okay lang. No problem," said Pilita.

When The Buzz host Boy Abunda asked Lotlot whether she really is still angry with Pilita, the actress had this to say:

"Hindi ako galit sa kanya. Nasaktan lang talaga ako. Kasi umalis ako ng bahay na walang dala. Umalis ako limandaan ang pera ko. 500 pesos. I rented a house ang kasama ko si Matet. Nangutang ako kay Tita Angge (Lotlot's manager).

"And para sabihin na siyempre, I practically grew up with Mamita. And I know that she loves Monching very much. That I respect. Sino bang hindi magmamahal na ina sa anak?

"Pero I was expecting that since I was married to Monching for 13 years, kahit papaano kilala niya ako bilang tao. At para marinig ko na, from her na, sabihing nanlalalake ako, o gusto kong mag-asawa ng mayaman masakit sa akin yon.

But you know I have learned to move on, learned to accept the fact na mahal na mahal lang talaga niya si Mon. Because of that and because of the love she gives my children, okay na sa akin yon. Di baleng, di bale na ako. Okay lang ako kayak o naman eh," she said.

The interview ended with Boy and Lotlot both expressing hope that the former in-laws would someday patch things up "in God's good time."

Lotlot, wala nang pakialam kay Pilita!

Magaan na ang pakiramdam ni Lotlot de Leon ngayong nailabas na niya ang lahat ng sama ng loob niya sa dating biyenan na si Pilita Corrales.

Muli ngang naungkat ang ‘away' nina Lotlot at Pili­ta dahil sa pagkaka-grant ng annulment nina Lotlot at Ramon Christopher.

Sabi ni Lotlot, hindi na niya pinuproblema pa kung ano ang iisipin ni Pilita sa mga gagawin niya, dahil ang mahalaga sa kanya ngayon ay ang kapakanan ng kanyang mga anak.

Siyanga pala, itinanggi ni Lotlot na may boyfriend siya ngayon.

"Matagal na akong walang lovelife. Hindi ko kailanman naging priority ang magkaroon ng bagong iibigin dahil ang focus ko ngayon ay ang buhayin ang sarili ko at bigyan ng magandang future ang mga anak ko, lalo na ang panganay ko na si Janine na nasa college na.

"Ayokong magkaroon ng bagong sakit ng ulo. Hindi biro ang mabuhay on your own na wala kang ibang kinakapitan kundi ang sarili mo.

"Hindi biro ang mag-explain sa mga anak mo, kung paano nila tatanggapin ang bagong lalake sa buhay ko. Although, I'm happy sa pagkakaroon ng mga anak na napaka-understanding pero siyempre, kaila­ngan ko ring isipin kung ano ang mararamdaman nila," sabi ni Lotlot.

Hindi raw problema kay Lotlot ang malalamig niyang gabi. Aba, mahabang panahon din na ang mainit na katawan ni Monching ang kasa-kasama niya gabi-gabi.

"Ang babae mas ma­lakas ang control. Paano ko pa mararamdaman ‘yan kung ang focus ko ngayon ay magtrabaho?

"Ang pagmamahal darating na lang ‘yan. Iba na ang sitwasyon ko ngayon at alam ko na iba na rin ang tingin sa akin ng mga lalake.

"Kung hindi rin lang ako rerespetuhin, huwag na lang!"

Sa ngayon, nag-uusap daw sila ni Monching tungkol sa kanilang mga anak. Hindi alam ni Lotlot kung may girlfriend na ngayon si Monching.

"Of course, importante ang ***! It's not just being busy, being active, kailangan talaga kasama ‘yon. It has to be.

WHAT can Pilita Corrales say now that the marriage of her son Ramon Christopher to Lotlot de Leon has been annulled on the ground that Lotlot was underaged at 17 when they were married? “Yun naman ang gusto ni Lotlot, so I hope she now finds what she’s looking for dahil siya naman ang umalis ng bahay nila,” she says at the presscon of the “Golden Divas” concert repeat held at her Greenhills restaurant.
   
“I’m glad she’s active now. Nasa ‘Dyesebel’ daw siya. I haven’t seen her since she left five years ago and in fairness to Monching, naaalagaan naman niya nang maayos ang mga anak nilang iniwan sa kanya. Ang gaganda ng mga apo ko. Janine, the eldest, is now 18. May mga kumukuha mag-artista but I think Monching is right in his decision that they all finish their studies first.”
   
Someone asked her what’s the secret of her youthful looks? “***. Importante ‘yun.”
   
Her colleague Carmen Soriano was there and asks her: “Totoo ba ‘yan? What does it feel like? Kasi nakalimutan ko na as I haven’t done it for so many years.”
   
“You know, it actually depends on your partner. Ako, my husband Carlos and I are together almost 24 hours a day and he’s active, very active pa rin. I’ll talk to you later in private and I will teach you. Sabi ko kasi sa’yo hahanapan kita ng boyfriend. I’ll introduce you to an Australian who just moved here. I’ve known him for a long time at bagay sa’yo kasi mahilig din sa music. We all need an inspiration and music, love, *** and happiness come together.”

AYAW makialam ni Jackielou Blanco sa samaan ng loob ng kanyang inang si Pilita Corrales at ng dating sister-in-law na si Lotlot de Leon.

Naniniwala si Jackielou na kulang lang sa masinsi­nang pag-uusap ang dalawa para magkaliwanagan at matapos na ang samaan nila ng loob sa isa’t isa.

Nabalitaan ni Jackielou ang paglalahad ng sama ng loob ni Lotlot sa The Buzz patungkol kay Pilita.

Sabi ni Jackielou, hindi nagkaroon ng closure ang dalawa kaya sensitive ang isa’t isa sa mga nakararating na intriga sa kanila.

Bigla na lang daw na hindi nag-usap sina Lotlot at Mommy Pilita niya noong kasagsagan ng issue sa hiwalayan nina Lotlot at Monching.

Kung may nasabi man ang Mommy Pilita na ikinasama ng loob ni Lotlot, hindi iyon ang gustong ipakahulugan ng kanyang ina.

“Ang nanay ko kasi, she tells you what she wanna say. Pero hindi ‘yun ang gusto niyang sabihin.

“Sinasabihan ko na nga ang nanay ko na, ‘Ano naman ‘yung sinabi mo?

Bakit gano’n ang sinabi mo? ‘Eh ‘yun lang ‘yung lumabas sa bibig ko pero hindi iyon ang ibig kong sabihin. Eh nasabi ko na eh.’

“Kaya sinasabihan ko ang nanay ko na huwag nang magpa-interview. Kasi, minsan, nakakapagsalita ‘yun ng hindi iyon ang gusto niyang sabihin.

Tapos, nagagatu­ngan pa.

“Sana, huwag na siyang patulan ng press. Huwag na lang siyang interbyuhin para hindi na lumaki pa at para tumahimik na lang.

“Sabi kasi namin, this is the right time para magkaayos na sila. Kasi nga, nasa ospital ang nanay ko. Mas maganda kung magsu-surprise visit siya roon.

“Ang nangyari, pagda­ting niya roon, natutulog ang nanay ko. Hindi na niya ginising, kasi nga, nagpapahinga.

MABUTI na lamang at maaga ang guesting ni Lotlot de Leon sa The Buzz nu’ng Linggo, kung saan ibinulalas nito kung bakit sila nagkaroon ng gap ng kanyang ex-biyenan na si Pilita Corrales.
    
“Masakit para sa akin ’yung sabihan niya akong nanlalaki or gustong makapag-asawa ng mayaman,” words to this effect na confession ni Lotlot habang ini-interview ni Boy Abunda.
   
Eh, nagkataon nu’ng Linggo ng gabi ring ’yon, guest naman si Pilita sa Sharon at tipong pamaang na tinanong nito si Megastar Sharon Cuneta ng “Kilala mo si Lotlot?,” na kung kami ang nasa katayuan ni Lotlot ay tipong iisipin naming “another insult to injury,” tsuk!
   
Mabuti na nga lamang at magaling na host si Sharon (yezzz, mas magaling pa siya kay Oprah weder some like it or not!) at mabilis pumik-up in between the lines.
   
Sometimes kasi, it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it, devah naman, Lotlot?
   
Susme naman, bata pa si Lotlot kilalang-kilala na sa mundo ng showbiz dahil anak nga ni Superstar Nora Aunor lalo’t ang tinanong pa ay isang matalino at may breeding na gaya ng Megastar, in fairness.
   
Well, wish lang namin ay magkabati na sina Lotlot at Pilita one of these days, dahil anuman ang mangyari, ’di na maaalis ang konek nila sa isa’t isa – ang mga dyunakis ni Lotlot kay Monching, that is.

And this time, we will show na kaya pa naming mag-Britney Spears at Cristina Aguilera para mas mag-enjoy ang crowd. Pati gowns namin, puro bago lahat."
