The philippines will never ever be a medical mecca, most expats, would only have an operation there if it was deemed to be small, the biggest problem is that they do not have enough of the right type of blood for most foreigners, and also the whole place is a shambles, all of the good doctors and nurses get out as soon as they get there diplomas, and the philippine government is kidding its self to really believe that there country could compete with other asian countries. Its about time they stopped pulling the wool over the eyes of the filipino, its only when you go out of the country and live as an OFW, that you see what a shambles this country is. Tourism, is never going to be big, because of the lack of investment in infastructure,, Look a Boracay, it has gone down market, and the only tourism you will get is the type that nobody wants. After 30 years it has been proven that unless the filipinos admit to the fact that they have to open up there markets to foreign investment, this country will never ever be competive with other asian holiday and medical destinations.
