Just what is the reason why Joe Rizal and Ninoy Aquino were declared as national heroes of Philippines? It is because they both died for their country, and Rizal was a great writer, and Aquino was a great senator-oppositionist.

I don't think Manny Pacquiao is a real national hero even if he is a great boxer. If he wants to be in the heroic ranks of Rizal and Aquino, in his next fight, Pacquiao should be willing to be punched-to-death and should die for his country too, struggle and fight, up to the last of his breath and gasp.

I think the Philippine government could declare him as a Philippine national hero too for his violent but worthy death and for his great martyrdom (for suffering those painful, fatal punches) in the international boxing ring.

But that is just the mentality of Filipinos.

They really believe that Manny Pacquiao is greater than Jose Rizal and Ninoy Aquino!

pwede ba pro boxer sya at dahil sa pera kaya lumalaban si pacquiao...and he is filthy rich so to speak. it is really kaplastikan ang sabihin lumalaban sya dahil sa bayan...come on...pro boxing is all abut money and self-earned pride.

imo, mansueto 'onyok', and his brother roel velasco are more worthy, unquestionably legitimate and far more deserving of being honored as heroes in sports coz these two brothers were the last pinoy athletes who brought elusive Olympic medals, bronze in 1992 and silver in 1996, to our country and they made us really proud when they won in those years.

and no way that pacquiao is far greater than rizal and aquino and other national heroes...ni sa kalingkingan nila ay wala pa sya.

Kung nasa ibang bansa na sya wala ng maynila na magrereklamo kung hindi sya pumarada. wala nang newscaster na magsasabing mayabang sya. at hindi na sya pagaagawan ng mga mapanglinlang na mga politiko.

At sa mga ibang boxingero na gustong maging champion, magmigrate agad kayo sa ibang bansa pag nakuha nyo yung championship title para hindi kayo sisiraan ng mga ibang mga pilipino na naiiingit sa katayuan ninyo.
