I would agree to your point na di natin dapat i-compare, but I know and understand where the viewers are coming from. It's really hard not to compare the original version of My Girl to that of the Filipino version, because:
Everything is copied -- including the way the casts do their acting. Though I believe that there is so much pressure to the artists, especially to Kim and Gerald, but I think given this kind of project, they should be challenged on how they can make their acting look like it's an original version. Nakakatawa lang panoorin na pati yung ngiti, tawa, galaw and angles/kuha ng kamera ay kaparehong-kapareho ng sa korean version. Thus, I think, what the viewers are criticizing is not the story but the artists themselves.
To add, I think Kim and Gerald look too young for this role. Si Kim kase is just Chinese/Korean-looking, but is very petite to act as Jasmine. Gerald, on the other hand naman, doesn't look like serious. Kase initially, he should be portraying a rich guy who looks irritated to Jasmine's actions and behavior. Kaso whenever you look at him, parang laging nakangiti.
Again, I'm posting this challenge to the artists. It doesn't mean that if they are portraying the said characters, their actions would already be exactly the same as those of the original one. The story is superb (this is actually my favorite Koreanovela), they have been given a good material (to add, the good opportunity)... the originality and success of this remake, would already depend on them.
