A MUST READ.
This is the case where Cinderella Endings stupefy reality.
We once had a happy Ruben, bubbly Keanna and a wonderful Kim Chiu, all of which were dreamers who all left a glass slipper on a house where clock struck for the Big Night. For the past five seasons of Pinoy Big Brother House, we celebrated with the joyous moments crowning our own Big Winners, who all had a similar story: a poor man indefinitely turned richer by a million pesos spiced with the extravagant gifts from desperate sponsors.
Today is a completely different story.
Now that Filipinos have become wiser, what is at stake is not anymore relevant. We learned to think that it is never important to determine who deserves the prize and the pot money in contention, but we realized that the Big Winner title is the real thing up for grabs.
So many times did I reiterate this; but, the need for emphasis knows no bounds. It is not a game of pity and fandom; it is never a competition of material dispossession. It is a show of idolatry and honor. It is a test of personality, a test of one’s self; because in Kuya’s house equality exists in every corner.
And whoever tries to plunder such disparity do not deserve to continue his stay in the big yellow. After all, no one is rich, none is poor.
It is just sickening to hear that someone tries to draw the inexistent line between the affluent and the not, which was not there from the start. Discrimination then knew no limits, this time someone turned the wheel around and played with social strata to ensure a slot in the big four roster. With this, questions exist and no matter how indignantly I tried to satisfy such qualms, they still persist.
Yeah, Questions exist and persist.
Does he deserve a better life despite his unbecoming attitude to someone whp treated him as equal? Would the people be smarter and steadfast enough on showcasing and proving to the world that we’d rather choose someone who is maarte, malandi, but is true to himself and accepts a slap on the face realization of mistakes than someone whose sole existence thrives on money and the promise of a better future alone?
No matter how hard I tried to cower into the yes option, I always come to a realization that there is more to Big Brother than a reality competition per se. After all, not every competition is a contest of prize.
Ejay do not deserve to be part of the Big four.
Why is there a need to nominate someone, even a friend who treats you as a friend and equal despite the social cluster he belongs to? And why can’t you nominate him in front of his face? When confronted by the grand jury, why then did you choose Robi? Why deny the fact that you nominate persons more than once because they are rich and can afford their dreams? Let’s say you only said it once; but, you can’t deny the fact that you desire for material richness. Why didn’t consider his selfless attitude and altruistic behavior and settled on reasons that exhibits envy and insecurity? Why is there a need to laugh at someone being punished because he is physically unable to do things? What if he is fat? Why want someone punished? I wonder what you’ll feel when you become fat yourself? Yeah, I am referring to Ejay’s relation with Robi and Mikan.
Has he REALLY proven anything?
Tonight the final four shall be chosen, but yesterday’s primetime showed something that should have given emphasis.
“Ejay pinapatawan kita ng automatic nomination.”
Silence.
“Ang daya naman kuya, bakit ako lang?”
If you’d ask me, whether he passed Kuya’s test, I’d say no. He was asking for reconsideration that not only him shall be punished. Is that real sacrifice which was what the test was up to? He wants others to suffer the same consequence he was to face. I’d rather have him burn the clothes than her him uttering such words as…
“Bakit ako lang?” Clothes are just material things that can be bought but to have someone sacrifice to suffer the same fate just because you’re suffering the same consequence.
He is selfish.
It is not about a struggle for dreams, an inspiration to strive, and if it were so, your words, actions do not exemplify such. And would you show them that the only way to their dreams is a shortcut way of deception, double-face and discrimination?
Lastly, how dare you tell us na nagpapakatotoo ka?
Didn’t you just deny that you nominated someone because of money and you’re being… well, not rich?
Tito John is right with you thinking that you earn the slot because people pity you?
Once? Once? Duh!
Why did you change your nominee when you face the grand council?
I thought you chose Nikki?! Why did you vote Robi then?! Why can’t you say in front of his face?! You are so double-faced!
TYPICAL NOMINATION: Robi (Robi can’t see, otherwise, his nomination can not be changed.)
LIVE NOMINATION: NIKKI (Robi can see.)
GRAND COUNCIL: ROBI (Robi is not there to see.)
LIE-DETECTOR* : NIKKI (Robi will obviously see as it is a no-brainer to know that their test will be shown to the other hms; hence, Robi will see.)
You are smart enough to see the pattern.
On the typical nomination which was to be revealed, He even chose safe words and mere implications of what he actually said on the confines of the confession room. The intensity and meaning was lessened to a great extent. Didn’t you just mention “Mayaman sila Robi” then out of nowhere you surprised us with, “Kayang tuparinni Robi ang kanaynag pangarap kahit wala sa PBB” Sinabi mo rink ay John ito.
PBB is not about chasing selfish dreams.
Do you want to really emphasize that MONEY SPEAKS?!
