PBB teen housemates share moments at house

TEEN housemates Jieriel Papa, Linda Backlund, and Kevin Flood are back in the outside world and they certainly have a lot to say about their stay inside the country's most famous house.

Among the three ex-teen housemates, Davao's Bubbly Girl Jieriel was the only one evicted from the "Pinoy Big Brother (PBB)" house through the public's text votes. Bikini Babe Linda of Iriga and Spanish Stallion Kevin of Madrid, on the other hand, both did voluntary exits.

Despite the many differences of the three, they still have similarities starting with the fact that their lives had been changed by their stint on "PBB Teen Edition Plus."

Jieriel, Linda, and Kevin all went through the auditions held to seek out housemates for the country's most famous reality television show.

The three teens tried out in their respective hometowns.

Jieriel has always been a fan of PBB, and according to her, she has aspired to be a housemate since the first teen edition that was aired two years ago. She promised herself that she would audition for the next teen edition and luckily for her, she got Big Brother's nod.

In Linda's case, she said Mommy Ningning and her aunts prodded her to audition for PBB. She was surprised upon learning that she was chosen to be a housemate, but she saw it as an opportunity she could not resist.

Kevin, meanwhile, tried his luck after giving it much thought and hearing his Daddy John's words of encouragement. The funny thing is that back in Spain, he was restricted to watch any European franchise of Big Brother because his father thought that none of them is for teenagers.

All three former teen housemates have had their moments inside the PBB house and they certainly have a lot of experiences and lessons they will forever cherish.

Jieriel shared that she learned to minimize her less than desirable traits. She admitted that she was really conscious of the cameras at first and was a little bit wary of her not so endearing characteristics. She loosened up eventually and managed to change for the better. She figured that it is the right thing to do, with or without cameras.

The petite 16-year-old considers the graduation ceremony Big Brother has given for her, along with Prisoner's Daughter Rona and True Blue Atenean Robi, to be the most memorable experience inside the country's most famous house.

Linda said she learned to let go of her feelings and actually share them with people. Before joining PBB, Linda always hides her feelings because she felt obligated to be strong for her mother and brother after her parents' separation. Opening up to people and showing emotions, she learned, can also be liberating.

The statuesque beauty considered her father's entry to the PBB house to be the most memorable moment and the "Humpty Dumpty" task to be the most unforgettable experience.

Kevin disclosed that he learned a lot new of things about himself through his interactions with the other teen housemates and Big Brother's tasks. Moreover, he discovered more about the Filipino culture, which he had since then embraced.

He said his most memorable experience was when the secret sacrifice he and his Daddy John had to do to help provide free circumcision for 100 Filipino kids. He added that he is thrilled that he'd be able to grace the Libreng Tuliang Bayan 2 that is set to happen on April 30 at the PBB Eviction Hall.

Now that the three former teen housemates are once again facing the realities of the outside world, a lot of people are curious to know what they have to say about the PBB adventure, and of course their plans for the future.

Fans of the three will be glad to know that they all want to give showbiz a shot. Both Jieriel and Linda plan to juggle studies and showbiz.

Jieriel is planning to take up Dentistry, while Linda plans to finish High School here in Manila.

Kevin, on the other hand, hoped that showbiz would give him enough exposure to be able to pursue his dream of competing in the Olympics equestrian games. He also dreamed of doing a project with Anne Curtis and Luis Manzano.

When asked if they have hard feelings about being nominated, all three of them said the nomination process is part of their stay inside the PBB house and that they completely understand whatever reasons the other housemates have for nominating them.

Kevin and Linda also said they have no regrets doing a voluntary exit. Kevin said it satisfies him to know that more deserving people are left inside the house because he chose to leave.

Meanwhile, Linda reiterated that her family's happiness was the main reason why she left. She gladly said her voluntary exit was worth it as it indeed helped to iron things out between her parents.

Now that they are out of the competition, they all have bets for the Big 4. Jieriel wants Jolas Paguia to win and for Beauty, Robert (Robi) Marion Domingo, and Ejay Falcon to be included in the Big 4. Linda only has a top 3: Robi, Arnan Clenuar (Nan), and Valerie Weignmann. Kevin's top 4 picks are Nan, Ejay, Jolas, and Rona.

Asked who they miss most inside the house, for Jieriel, it is Beauty and Jolas while Linda says it is Valerie and Alex. Kevin, however, gave a different answer -- Big Brother.

Jieriel, Linda, and Kevin have showed the world who they really are.

The three promising teenagers are now more than ready to take on the challenges of the outside world and at the rate their going, they are sure to make it. Their big dreams are just about to become big realities. (Press release)

Will there now be peace in Kuya’s house after the exit of Spanish Stallion Kevin and his Daddy John? They made a voluntary exit last Saturday night. Daddy John had several heated arguments with Josef’s Tita Anna and Beauty’s Mommy Carina that greatly affected Kevin’s friendship with them. There were attempts to patch things up, but these proved to be futile. Kevin thought it best to just leave "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Plus" so there will be no more conflicts.

Meantime, the second "Libreng Tuliang Bayan" will be held April 30. A hundred boys will have the surgery for free. Those who registered but weren’t accommodated during the first "Libreng Tuliang Bayan" will be given priority for this round that will be held at the Big Brother activity area in cooperation with Capitol Medical Center and Capitol Medical Center Colleges. "PBB: Teen Edition Plus" will also have a "Sikat sa Haircut" contest, open to groups of friends all over the country. EVICTED HOUSEMATES AND THEIR NEXT MOVE

THREE teen housemates have been evicted from PBB Teen Plus: Jieriel of Davao, Linda of Iriga, and Kevin of Spain. We got to interview them and they all say that they will treasure the experience of living in Kuya’s house for the rest of their lives.
   
Jieriel was born on August 30, 1991. She just finished high school and wants to take up dentistry in college. “But I’ll stay here muna in Manila to see kung may offers ako sa showbiz,” she says.
   
She has a boyfriend named Gelo waiting for her in Davao. What can she say to the observation that she’s a “reklamadora” who complains a lot? “Well, I can’t do anything it if that’s their opinion. Pero ganun talaga ako. What I feel, I say it. Kasi if I’d hide my feelings mas mapi-pressure ako. Ayoko namang magpaka-plastic.”
   
Who does she think will win? “There will be four winners and my bets are Robi, Jolas, Beauty and Josef. Sina Robi at Jolas, stand out sila sa pagiging Kuya sa amin.”
   
Robi, Jolas and Josef are nominated for eviction this Saturday, along with Rona. Who does she think will be ousted? “I think it’s Rona. Kasi since I came out, ang daming nagsasabi sa’kin, ayaw nila kay Rona.”
   
Linda is the bunso or youngest among the housemates, having been born on November 21, 1991. “Pero hindi halata kasi ang laki ko kahit mas matanda silang lahat sa akin,” she says. “I stand 5’7" at pati build ko, malaki rin.”
   
Her mom is Bicolana and her dad is Swedish whose family name is Backlund. They met in Boracay where her mom used to work in a restaurant. “We lived in Boracay and also in Bantayan Island kasi mahilig ang father ko sa beach.
   
“Nine years ago, he went to Norway to work as a painter and had an accident. He fell from an oil rig and damaged his spine. Since then, wala na siyang trabaho and lives on welfare kaya hindi na siya nakakauwi rito. But on his birthday last month, PBB gave him plane fare para makauwi rito and be with me.
   
“Kaya nga I chose to exit voluntarily as Kuya gave us a free vacation in a beach in Batangas. It’s a nice place and my parents, my brother and I enjoyed it very much. It’s worth it nang paglabas ko dahil nagkabati uli ang parents ko, but ‘yun nga lang, my dad had to leave again for Norway.”
   
Linda is a high school senior this June and she wants to continue her studies here in Manila while pursuing a career in showbiz. “I’m now the breadwinner in our family at gusto kong kumita for them.”
   
Kevin  was born in Madrid on February 21, 1990. His dad, John, is a Filipino whose family name is Garcia. His mom is Irish whose family name is Flood. They met in Spain where they both work as English teacher. Kevin is the second of three boys. His parents separated and his dad has remarried and he has a stepsister with his dad’s second wife. He’s been riding horses in Madrid since he was a child and later joined equestrian competitions. “I join about 50 horseriding competitions in one year,” he says.
   
It was their friends in the Philippine Embassy in Spain who informed them that an audition for PBB Teens will be conducted in Madrid and urged him to take it. He passed the audition and was sent to Manila last March. Now, he’s ready to try having a showbiz career here. He refused to undergo circumcision while in Kuya’s house. Is he aware that people might tease him as being “supot” or uncut? “I don’t care. I wouldn’t mind being circumcised if it was done when I was born. But after 18 years, it’s too late. I don’t want to change myself anymore. I’ll just try working here for a while and if I don’t make it, I live a comfortable life in Spain and I can always go back there and be with my horses.”

ANYWAY, dumako naman tayo sa presscon ng PBBTE Plus evictees na sina Kevin, Jieriel at Linda.

Talagang inuna ng yours truly na tanungin itong si Kevin kung bakit ayaw na ayaw niyang magpatuli. For curiosity ek lang, ’noh?!

“Give me three good reasons why you don’t want to be circumsized,” hirit dito ng yours truly.

Napa-smile muna ang Kevin sabay sagot, “Okay, okay… you know, I’m 18, I’ve been like this all my life and I don’t want to change. That’s the only reason.”

Maybe raw, at the age of 22, baka magpatuli na siya. Repeat, maybe lang, ha!

Parang type tuloy ng yours truly na kantahan itech ng old song na may lyrics na... “Maybe this year...maybe next year…maybe never...I’m confessing that I’m guessing all the time...,” tsuk and more tsuk!

Hay naku, kung ayaw magpatuli, huwag! Hintayin na lang natin ang paglabas ni PBBTE Plus housemate Alex from Milan, Italy, at tanungin kung bakit siya nagpatuli sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya at si Kevin, hindi napilit. ’Yon lang!

Former "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus" (PBBTEP) housemate Kevin developed crush on Anne Curtis right after he and his father John left the house.

Kevin saw Anne in person in the talk program, "The Buzz," last Sunday. He felt immediate attraction. Father and son were featured in "The Buzz" last Sunday. After seeing Anne, Kevin said: "She’s not only beautiful but very nice as well."

Kevin promises to watch Anne’s new movie, "When Love Begins," also starring Aga Muhlach, which opened April 30 in more than 100 theaters nationwide.

Kevin is currently staying with his dad and the two other evictees, Jeriel and Linda, and their parents, in the PBB dorm.

Kevin said that it’s his dad who has Filipino blood.

"He has relatives here," related Kevin. "When he was younger, he often visited the Philippines.

"My stint in PBB is not the first time that I visited the Philippines. I was here with my dad before but I was still very young then," he added.

Kevin said he is familiar with "Pinoy Big Brother" because they are The Filipino Channel (TFC) subscribers in Madrid, Spain, where they reside.

When he heard about the auditions for "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus" in Madrid, he asked for his father’s advice. "His words were encouraging," Kevin related.

John, in an interview with him and the other evictees, said it was Kevin’s decision to voluntarily exit Big Brother’s house.

"He’s the reason why I was in Kuya’s house. I abide by his decision," stated John.

John is now estranged from Kevin’s Spanish mom, but they remain close.

Success na masasabi kung dami ng nanood ang pag-uusapan ang premiere night ng When Love Begins nina Aga Muhlach at Anne Curtis, produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films at showing na sa mga sinehan.
   
Ano naman daw ang masasabi namin sa kabuuan ng pelikula? Well, it’s a different kind of love story. Mabilis, walang kiyaw-kiyaw, walang kiyeme-kiyeme. Very natural at effortless ang acting ni Anne. Magaling siya, ha, in fairness.

At take note, habang hindi pa nagsisimula ang palabas, pinagkaguluhan ng fans ang mag-amang kalalabas lang sa PBBTE Plus na sina John at Kevin.
   
Yezzz, may fans na ang mag-ama at kilalang-kilala na sila ng mga utaw, in fairness uli!
   
Kung ganu’n, no doubt na talagang puwedeng masabi ni Pinoy Big Brother ang mga katagang... “I’ll make you a big star!” ’Yon nga lang, hindi ito puwede sa lahat ng nagiging housemates. Kumbaga, many are called but only few are chosen, tsuk!

How long did their interview go for though? They don't host a segment for celebs na 1 min lang!

 It was more than a minute of course, but there were the 2 other ex-HMs & another girl with them. 

 However, I do remember Kevin saying he wants to stay in the Philippines longer, and that Kris was saying she really likes them-John & Kevin. They also talked a bit about horses, remember Mikee(Cojuangco), Kris' cousin, is also an equestrian like Kevin.  It was a better interview compared to Uber & dbuzz'

PBB teen ex-housemates share experiences and future plans

They may be out of the Pinoy Big Brother house, but ex-PBB teen housemates Jieriel, Linda and Kevin are realizing that they can still make their dreams come true.

Now back in the outside world, the three teens shared their thoughts and feelings about leaving the PBB house--and what their prospects they have in their showbiz careers.

Davao's "Bubbly Girl" Jieriel--the first and so far the only teen housemate to be evicted from the PBB house (based on viewers' votes sent thru SMS) said that she has no ill feelings about her exit.

“Hindi ako nagalit, kasi noong nasa loob ako kasi parang okay na iyon satisfied na ako na mag-stay doon for three weeks. Kasi noong nakatanggap ako ng key, di ko na ini-expect yon, siguro hanggang key lang ako, tapos noong nakapasa ako sa screening dito sa Manila parang hindi totoo. At noong nakapasok ako sabi ko sigurado ako first evictee, expected ko na,” Jieriel told the reporters during a press conference held at the 9501 restaurant inside ABS-CBN compound.

Likewise, "Bikini Babe" Linda of Iriga and "Spanish Stallion" Kevin of Madrid said they took their exit from the PBB house positively.

“Hindi ko po na-feel na (galit sa akin ng tao) siguro binigyan lang ako ni Big Brother ng opportunity na makasama ko ang family ko,” said Linda, who made a voluntary exit in exchange for the chance to patch things up between her estranged parents.

In return for her voluntary exit, the PBB's Kuya allowed Linda to spend time in a resort with her Filipina mother and her brother together with her Swedish father, who left them behind years ago.

Kevin on the other hand decided to leave the PBB house because of "cultural differences" between his father and the other Filipino guardians inside the PBB house.

PBB moments
The three teens told the press about their unforgetable moments, as well as lifelong lessons they learned--whiel inside the PBB house.

According to Jieriel, she learned to minimize, if not eliminate, her undesirable traits, especially her tendency to make loud, abrasive complaints.

She explained however that she only complained whenever she felt it would be "for the good of everybody".

The sixteen-year old Davaoeña said that her most memorable experience inside the PBB house was the graduation ceremony especially organized for her and fellow teen housemates Rona ("The Prisoner's Daughter") and "True Blue Atenean" Robi.

As for Linda, she said that she learned to be more open to people about her feelings and to express her emotions. She said that she always put up a strong façade to hide her feelings because she felt obligated to be strong for her mother and brother after her parents' separation.

Opening up to people and showing emotions, she learned, can also be liberating. She said that she also learned to value and save up on basic necessities.

“Marami akong natutunan sa loob like iyong pagtitipid sa tubig at iyong pag-value sa pagkain, dapat di nagsasayang ng food,”
said Linda.

Linda considers her father's entry to the PBB house to be her most memorable moment and the "Humpty Dumpty" task to be the most unforgettable experience.

She also said that her father recently left the country to go back to Norway.

Filipino culture
Kevin, the half-Filipino "Spanish Stallion' from Madrid, said that he learned a lot new of things about himself through his interactions with the other teen housemates, and Big Brother's tasks.

Moreover, he discovered more about the Filipino culture, which he had since then embraced.

“I learned how to be independent and it’s not so easy,” Kevin said.

And when asked why he decided to leave the house, the Stallion from Madrid said: “Because I feel people inside need more than I do, getting on top of the PBB like the last four or the grand winner.”

He also admitted that his father is also one of the reasons why he decided to leave.

“Some parts yes because he was feeling bad. I had fun for five weeks, it’s more than enough,” Kevin said.

And for his most memorable experience, Kevin said that it was the secret sacrifice he and his Daddy John had to do to help provide free circumcision for 100 Filipino kids.
