    I had a joy ride last Sunday night when Trip na Trip as hosted by Katkat de Castro and Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemate Franzen Fajardo premiered after Pinoy Big Brother! I loved the no-storyline approach and the quirky camera work, a sort of Lonely Planet done MTV-style. Among the show’s stimulating segments are Good Trip, Bad Trip, Food Trip and Hamon ng Bayan where the hosts interact with local residents of the place they visit. The catch? Katkat travels in style with an unlimited budget, while Franzen must subsist on a meager P2,500 budget for the entire trip!

    Katkat makes excellent use of her extensive experience in news and current affairs reporting to come up with a content high on human interest and tell-it-as-it-is approach. Franzen is the attention grabber, ever ready with his simple man’s point of view and gaffes that will invariably make you laugh. Over-all, Trip na Trip is an intimate look at our country to which many of us are alien and alienated. Some would probably be jolted by this unconventional approach as it takes some time to fall in love with it. More exposure will make it viewer-friendly.

    Hindi pa pala ito pinapalabas sa TFC.

    I watched the recent episode. Franzen was trying out yung isa sa mga featured hobby in Boracay called "zip". It's like playing with fire, literally speaking. Parang hindi man lang nag aalala yung staff ng trip na trip pati na rin si Katherine De Castro kahit puro paso yung mukha at sunog na yung balat ni Franzen kakalaro ng fire. Tapos, in the end,sasabihin nila na dont try doing this. laugh.gif

    sana ipalabas din to sa ABS-CBN on demand... specially with their new subscriptions... sana they would offer more shows, even local shows from Studio 23.
