    TAKE IT! Ni Lolit Solis
    Friday, August 17, 2007

With Mang Dolphy around, why not! Why not daw o!

This is under Intelligent Skin Care, Inc. headed by Dr. Vicky Belo’s daughter, Cristalle Belo Henares, to handle the brand, product development and marketing of Be-lo Essentials.

Si Zsa Zsa ang isa sa tatlong endorsers of the product, the other two being Regine Velasquez and Lucy Torres-Gomez.

Kararating niya lang pala from Australia dahil her other daughter is enrolled in a school there kaya’t kailangan niya raw talaga ang Belo Essentials dahil nag-super-tan siya  sa Australia.

Zsa Zsa ayaw patalbog kina Regine, Lucy Torres

    By: Leo M. Bukas

    Footloose

TATLO sa  most loyal female endorsers ng  Belo Medical Group ang bagong endorser ngayon ng  latest venture ni Dr.  Vicki Belo -- ang Belo Essentials -- na isang  skin care whitening product line that is affordable for the mass market.

Zsa Zsa Padilla, Regine Velasquez and Lucy Torres support the latest endeavor of prominent dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo to give every Filipina a chance to live the promise of being Belo beautiful everyday.

Because of her vision to make the Philippines the most beautiful country in the world, Dr. Belo, with the help of her daughter Cristalle Belo Henares, extends the powerful Belo brand to the skin care whitening category that would reach more Filipino households.

Created by Intelligent Skin Care, Inc., an affiliate of the Belo Medical Group, Belo Essentials will be synonymous to the image of effective and safe skin care products that the Belo Medical Group has been known for.

Since this is the newest baby of Vicki and that her daughter Cristalle is at the helm of the new company, ang anak niyang   si  Quark Belo Henares na isa ring   award-winning film director ang gumawa ng  30 second TV commercial.

It is really my honor and privilege to work with them,” wika pa niya.

At the end of cour conversation, Cristalle proudly  say na with Belo Essentials, every Filipina may finally get  an affordable first hand experience of the Belo care and expertise and in effect, be as Belo beautiful as their favorite stars.

    Belo scores a casting coup
Three in One: Zsa Zsa, Regine and Lucy

    By Ricky T. Gallardo

IT was, as many advertising people put it, a dream cast. The celebrity aesthetic doctor is referring to the new endorsers of her latest skin-care whitening product line that is being positioned to target the mass market. Take these names: Zsa Zsa Padilla, Regine Velasquez and Lucy Torres-Gomez. Three women with substance, all in one in new Belo Essentials advertising campaign that promotes proper skin care.

All these years, Belo has been a brand synonymous to the elevation and redefinition of beauty, a name that is trusted by the most influential celebrities and local industry icons. At a time when their former endorser jumped ship due to a controversy allegedly involving her husband with a former Belo employee, the new advertising campaign certainly comes at a very strategic time.

Zsa Zsa, Lucy and Regine have been three of the most loyal female clients of the Belo Medical Group and their being onboard for the new whitening product line will certainly boost the goal of Belo to reach out to a wider market. As many already know, Zsa Zsa didn't have qualms a few years ago announcing to everyone that life starts at 40 in giant Belo billboards. On the other hand, Lucy and husband Richard Gomez also swears by the services and products of the Belo group that continually make them look and feel good.

It was interesting to know that Regine was one of Belo's earliest clients. "I think I was still in my teens when my very first manager Ronnie Henares brought me to Dra. Belo. I remember, wala pa nga silang signage noon duon sa maliit nilang clinic sa Makati. Ilang dekada na rin pala ang nagdaan, and walang masyadong nakakaalam na Belo baby talaga ako," explains Regine.

This campaign is not just a labor of love, it's also a family affair. Dr. Belo's daughter Cristalle Henares is with her in the creation of this new line of products. Belo's son Quark Henares, a respected film director, enthusiastically took on the creative side of the launch as TV commercial director. Together with ad agency Publicis Manila, Quark's team captured the three celebrities at their best and turned the concept into a truly beautiful 30-second TV commercial.

The three endorsers were asked about their preferred products from the new line during the intimate media launch at Kimono Ken recently and surprisingly, they knew the products very well, explaining to us the rituals they follow to achieve beautiful and fair skin. Regine shares her beauty secret: I always clean my face at night and put night cream before I go to sleep. When you go out kasi, your face gets dirty with all the dirt and pollution around. I use the Pore Minimizing Whitening Face Wash twice a day, when I wake up and before I sleep. I also use the smoothening whitening body bar. Its micro-beads exfoliate my skin and removes dead skin.

"Syempre, you cannot achieve star white skin overnight," stressed Zsa Zsa, adding "and you should never forget about the basics like washing your face frequently, having enough sleep, eating well, all these contribute to the final desired effect you want. And since these products are being positioned to capture the mass market, they're priced really reasonably so more people will be able to afford these products and sustain yung pagpapaganda nila, di ba?"

The very fair-skinned Lucy says she never goes out without applying sunblock. I don't want to experiment when it comes to skin care. I don't want to take chances. I want to always be sure and safe of the products I use. Sigurista ako, no! I'm thrilled that this product line is easily affordable to everyone. Now, everyone can benefit from the Belo expertise."

With Zsa Zsa, Regine and Lucy around, I don't think Vicki Belo still have time to miss her most controversial former endorser.

Zsa Zsa Padilla: Essentially a parent first

    By WALDEN SADIRI

For Zsa Zsa Padilla, one of her essential obligations as a parent is to let go of her children when the right time comes. She is pertaining to her 16-year-old daughter Nicole whom she and Dolphy wanted to experience college life in Melbourne, Australia.

However painful the decision was to a parent, she opined that the best experiences their children would have would be while in high school and college. And this is something they would love them to have.

"Ilang months na iniiyakan ko. But then kapag time mo ng kailangang pakawalan, napakahirap na decision siyempre because you’re always after the safety of the child…she’s taking-up one year of foundation studies at Trinity College which is inside Melbourne University and then Major in Arts for three years. She lives in a dorm where her room is as small as a cabinet," sighed Zsa Zsa during the press conference of Belo Essentials recently.

months na iniiyakan ko.

As a parent, Zsa Zsa has only good things to say about her kids. She describes them as real blessings to her and Dolphy because they never gave them any problems.

"In a sense I’m so lucky. First, all of my daughters are intelligent. They never needed tutorials. They’re all bright in their own ways. They are all studious. Si Zia lang ang hindi studious pero napakatalino niya. She’s street smart. For now she also has a very good voice. She’s the musician too. She plays the guitar and piano. She’s very artistic and she writes very well," shared Zsa Zsa enthusiastically.

When the right time comes, she admitted that she’d let go too of Zia if she’s decided to join showbiz. According to her, Zia’s interested but is reluctant because of her and Dolphy.

"Gusto pa lang niyang mag-umpisa na-discourage na siya…especially tatay niya na napakahirap pantayan ang na-achieve…sabi ko nga sa kanya I just kept on striving…may pangalan na naman ako when we got together pero napakahirap. Kasi one in a million ang nangyari kay Dolphy who’s very exceptional in all fields like he can sing and he can dance. He’s not the singer in the family but he has the perfect pitch. Hindi ka ba maaasar but it’s a gift," she shared.

discourage na siya…especially tatay niya na napakahirap pantayan ang na-achieve…sabi ko nga sa kanya I just kept on striving…may pangalan na naman ako when we got together pero napakahirap. Kasi one in a million ang nangyari kay Dolphy who’s very exceptional in all fields like he can sing and he can dance. He’s not the singer in the family but he has the perfect pitch. Hindi ka ba maaasar but it’s a gift," she shared.

With regards to her daughter Karylle, Zsa Zsa is a parent who thought it essential to let go of the intrigues and rumors she heard about Karylle and her boyfriend. She didn’t even have to ask Karylle about these because she knows the truth – they’re still together and okay. And in the years she has been in showbiz, the 43-year-old diva says she knows what is the truth and what is publicity.

She added that whether Karylle became a singer and actress or not, she opined that she’d still be a victim or rumors because she comes from a family in show business. She believes too that like any relationship, she’s being challenged and they have to be strong.

"It’s up to her how she’ll handle it. You know she’s a very intelligent girl and a lot of people don’t even realize that she already graduated from college years ago. She looks very young and Atenista pa. She’s always been very bright. She really has a good head on her shoulder… when you’re in showbiz you have to show people that you just can’t be pushed around. Not that you’re doing the pushing also, not for you to be defensive in anyway. Pangit din yung defensive ka rin kasi kung wala namang ginagawa pangit din. Easy ka lang and just be cool," she advised her daughter.

She’s also happy that Karylle and Dingdong Dantes went into business together. They both invested in a KTV restaurant and bar in Tomas Morato called Centerstage and Circle Café. This for her is a mark of a relationship growing stronger and going somewhere. This is a step ahead for anyone in a relationship, she said.

According to her, Karylle was influenced by her boyfriend who have always been business minded. Zsa Zsa has been aware that Dong has always partnered with people in different businesses.

"I love Dong. I think that about Karylle’s business sense and securing her future, a lot is influenced by Dong," she quipped.

Zsa Zsa confessed though that she is hurt when she hear people’s comments that if Karylle and Dong break up, a lot of women would become interested with the latter.

"Bakit ang anak ko? Ang ganda-ganda ng anak ko. Matalino at matino. At graduate siya ng Ateneo!"

    graduate siya ng Ateneo!"

Zsa Zsa, who’s also caught by the trend of entrepreneurial-celebrities, is excited about opening another branch for RazzleDazzle, an upscale salon located along Rada St., Legaspi Village in Makati City.

At the moment, aside from her new series in ABS-CBN entitled "Mars Ravelo’s Lastikman," she is one of the three celebrity endorsers of Belo Medical Group’s Intelligent Skin Care, Inc. which has already launched its affordable Belo Essential Whitening Products in the market.

ISCI, which is headed by Dra. Vicki Belo’s daughter Cristalle Belo Henares, is aimed at providing affordable and dependable skin care especially made for the Filipino skin type. The whitening products are Whitening Lotion and Whitening Lotion SPF 15, Whitening Face Wash and Pore Minimizing Whitening face Wash, Whitening Body Bar and Smoothening Whitening Body Bar. All products are available at selected drugstores, groceries and supermarket nationwide.

So what’s Zsa Zsa’s Belo Essential regimen?

"Well they gave me all the products. But during shower I use the Pore Minimizer facial wash which is colored pink because for my age gusto kong mabawasan ang pores ko. After that I use the pink soap with granules which has an exfoliating factor. So tanggal ang dead cells and medyo nakikiliti ka pa. After the shower, I use the lotion without the SPF because normally I’m indoors and I don’t want to expose myself to the sun," she described her 20 minutes or more Belo Essential regimen. (Now if Papa Dolphy is around, that’s another story according to her.)

Zsa Zsa who’s a very loyal patient and also one of the most trusted and credible endorsers of the Belo Medical Group is elated that high quality skin care was made affordable for the masses. Before agreeing to endorse, she has to try the products first, she said. Her favorite are the Pink products which suits her age category (the two variants’ usage are better distinguished by the colors pink and blue).

Belo Essentials is also in line with Dra. Vicki Belo’s goal of making the Philippines the most beautiful country in the world, one Pinoy at a time. While the TV commercial directed by her son Quark, starring Zsa Zsa Padilla, Lucy Torres and Regine Velasquez, is said to inspire Filipino televiewers to have "Star White Skin."

"I’m 43 and I’m lovin’ it," exclaimed Zsa Zsa of her youthful and freshlooking skin.

ZSA ZSA: KARYLLE AND DINGDONG STILL OKAY

ZSA ZSA Padilla came to the launching of Belo Essentials knowing she’d be asked about the alleged breakup of her daughter Karylle with boyfriend Dingdong Dantes.

“No, I know the truth at wala silang problema, they’re still happy together,” she says, quickly adding “Marimar na mamaya”, insinuating it’s really part of the promo of Dingdong’s new show with Marian Rivera. “Sabi ko na lang sa anak ko, you have to be strong kasi normal lang ang ganyang klase ng intriga sa showbiz.”

Zsa Zsa says she  really uses Belo pink soap  as it removes dead skin cells.

She remains so sexy at 43, but is Dolphy still up to it now that he has turned 80? “Of course, active pa ang *** life namin,” she says.

The trio comprises Belo Medical Group’s latest bunch of celebrity endorsers who are promoting the clinic’s new line of skin whitening products called Belo Essentials. By any measure, it’s a major casting coup following the departure of Kris Aquino, one of Vicki Belo’s major endorsers.

    DOLLYWOOD
No diva in her blog site

    By Dolly Anne Carvajal
    Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—Checking out my friends’ multiply.com sites is the highlight of my mornings. Before getting lost in the daily shuffle (or shuffling with the lost?), it feels good to touch base with friends and see what they’re up to.

I particularly enjoy going through the site of Zsazsa Padilla, which she calls “In This Corner.” There she sheds her diva image and even gamely posts her bagong gising pix. Zsa allowed me to share with you her latest blog entry (Sept. 3): “Give in, hold back.” I’m sure a lot of women can relate to it as they also deal with the diet tug of war.

    Confused

“I am confused. My brain, mouth and stomach are in connivance. They’re out to get me. My brain is the only one making sense but I get mixed signals. It keeps saying, ‘Give in... eat! You are PMSing and you have to satisfy your needs.’

“When I look in the mirror and see my image and how my hips have grown, it then says, ‘Hold back... have some sense, woman, and go on a diet... you ***!’ It can get pretty abusive and downright mean. Seriously now, I have a photo shoot in two weeks and I have to be professional about this whole thing. Brain says... diet wins!

“So, in the next two weeks, I can envision a slimmer but nastier me. Being deprived of food is no fun. But we do it because it’s part of the job. So many haters out there. And sadly enough, they always target the physical. They make nasty comments like she’s too fat, too thin, too ugly, trying too hard... it just goes on and on.

“The upside? Good uplifting comments. I guess you all know by now that most artists suffer from low-self esteem. The culprit? Being a people-pleaser. Applause and approval from fans sustain us. Need I say more?”

Zsa Zsa Padilla shrugs off prank on Dolphy and talks about daughters

"Sana lang ‘yung mga tao, huwag lang maniniwala agad. Kasi parang ang dali-dali naman manira ngayon through text, e-mails, stuff like that. I mean, it's so it's kinda evil," says Zsa Zsa Padilla (in photo, with partner Dolphy) about bogus text messages.

I started going to Alabang because I have a cousin who works at the Alabang branch till now. So, ilang taon na ba? Hindi ko na matandaan. Even before I became a model [of Belo].

"Sorry to disappoint you, pero wala!" natatawang sagot ni Zsa Zsa.

I came from Australia and I didn't eat much," aniya.

NICOLE IN AUSTRALIA. Ano ang ginawa niya sa Australia? Nag-concert ba siya roon?

"No, my daughter Nicole goes to school there now," sabi niya. "So, hinatid ko lang. She's in University of Melbourne which is Trinity College. So, she's taking up foundation studies for a year and then, three years sa Arts in the University of Melbourne."

    Bakit sa Australia?

"She really wanted to study abroad kaya lang, if it's gonna be in the US medyo... I mean, at least Australia is like seven hours and a half away... Melbourne [is] seven hours away from Manila. Medyo okay," paliwanag ni Zsa Zsa.

Mag-isa lang daw sa Australia si Nicole.

"Yeah, she's very independent. She's washing her own clothes and stuff like that. She has an apartment, but she shares an apartment with another Asian girl who's 20 years old. Nicole is only 16."

"It is, but you know, I'm just so happy that Dolphy really provided a trust fund for the college, college fund for them. She's [Niocle] very careful with her money because it's her money. Kumbaga, mas maingat na siya sa paggastos ngayon. Natututo na siya," very proud na sabi ni Zsa Zsa.

What about her youngest daughter Zia?

"Si Zia, actually, studies in an international school, but she doesn't want to go abroad for college. For now, she wants to be a director. She's so much into film, e. She's only in high school, Grade 11. She needs two more years to finish high school."

BAD JOKE. Two days before the presscon, may ilang press people ang nakatanggap ng text message na pumanaw na diumano ang partner niya at Comedy King na si Dolphy. Ano ang reaksiyon ni Zsa Zsa rito?

"I don't know. What is it about? Sino kaya ang gumagawa noon? Wala naman, e, It's not harmful. It's so funny because it didn't even reach us. Sana ipinarating sa amin," nakangiting sabi ni Zsa Zsa.

Hindi na raw siya masyadong naaapektuhan o naalarma kapag may mga ganitong tsismis kay Dolphy.

"Depende, minsan parang pag sobrang wild na, hindi. Sana lang ‘yung mga tao, huwag lang maniniwala agad. Kasi parang ang dali-dali naman manira ngayon through text, e-mails, stuff like that. I mean, it's so it's kinda evil.

"Actually, walang pumatol. Probably if they received it then my friends... I will be the one texting them," aniya.

    Private time

Zsa Zsa Padilla and Dolphy took their girls Zia and Nicole to Boracay for Zia’s birthday. “I honestly haven’t been much of a Bora fan. It gets crazy there during summer,” Zsa said.

“Try walking around with Dolphy there and you’ll need to stop for a picture or autograph at every step. If we want private time, Bora’s not the place for us. Wherever we are, what matters is we have uninterrupted time together away from it all.”

Now you know why their May-December romance has outlasted all calendars!

Zsa Zsa Padilla gives the press an upbeat interview

"As far as I know, they're okay and they're happy together. When someone asked me if I think ‘yun na ang start na maghihiwalay na sila, ang sabi ko, ‘You can't say. It's a relationship, anything can happen,'" says Zsa Zsa Padilla about daughter Karylle and her boyfriend Dingdong Dantes.

Ganadong makipagtsikahan at makipagbiruan with the entertainment press si Zsa Zsa Padilla during the Belo Essentials press launch last August 15.

"Of course not! Wala akong sinabing ganun," paglilinaw ni Zsa Zsa sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

"Ang bait-bait ko nga, e! Tingnan n'yo, pati ako tinatanong n'yo tungkol sa promo ng Marimar? Anong care ko sa Marimar?

"'Sabagay, may care ako dahil kasali roon si Dingdong. Okay, fine! Pero wala akong sinabing ganun. You're putting words into my mouth!" patili pero natatawang sabi ng Divine Diva.

"Well, that's part and parcel of being in showbiz. You can't help that. You know, I love her [Karylle] to death and I want to protect her. Pero sabi ko lang sa kanya, ‘You have to show people you're made of stronger stuff!'

"Mahirap, e. Pero ganun talaga, kasi kasama ‘yan sa trabaho, di ba? Meron lang namang isyu ‘pag ipinakita mong na-hurt ka, di ba? Pag hindi ka naman nahe-hurt, kahit bato sila nang bato sa ‘yo, e, di walang mangyayari," pag-aanalisa niya.

KARYLLE & DINGDONG. Sa pagkakaalam niya, okay ba ang relasyon nina Karylle at Dingdong o totoong may problema sa dalawa?

"As far as I know, they're okay and they're happy together," sagot ni Zsa Zsa. "When someone asked me if I think ‘yun na ang start na maghihiwalay na sila, ang sabi ko, ‘You can't say. It's a relationship, anything can happen.'

"But since they already have a business, ‘yung Centerstage [bagong bukas na KTV bar sa Centro building in Tomas Morato corner Timog Avenue, Q.C.] and all that, I think it's proof enough that they're a step ahead. Kumbaga, they're making plans. They're wisely investing their money and doing business together now should make their relationship stronger.

"Ang in-advice ko kay Kaye, aside from using Belo Essentials para maging happy siya at lalo siyang kuminis...talagang ipasok natin, di ba? Hahaha! I just told her na she has to prove to people that she can't just be pushed around. Not to be defensive in any way dahil pangit din ‘yon. Kumbaga, easy ka lang. Just be cool," sabi ng actress-singer.

Ang ibig ba niyang sabihin, Karylle is being pushed around?

"I think she's being challenged," sabi niya. "I think any relationship can be challenged at nasa sa ‘yo na ‘yan how you will handle it. You know, Kaye is a very intelligent girl and a lot of people don't even realize that she already graduated from college years ago.

"She looks very young, e. She's really bright and she has a good head on her shoulders. Kaya I take offense when I hear some people comment, 'Pag naghiwalay sila, maraming magkakakagusto kaagad kay Dingdong.'

"Sabi ko, ‘Bakit sa anak ko? Excuse me, huh! Ang ganda-ganda ng anak ko at matalino pa at matino! At graduate siya ng Ateneo!'" natatawang tili ni Zsa Zsa, na ginaya ang delivery niya ng kanyang memorable line na "Graduate siya ng La Salle!" patungkol kay Edu Manzano in her scene with Patrick Garcia sa pelikulang Batang PX (1997).

"But you know, I love Dong, ha? They shouldn't get me wrong," paglilinaw ni Zsa Zsa.

"I think that sense of being in business and everything and about securing their future, this is also influenced by Dong because I know that he's into a lot of business at nakikisosyo siya [Karylle]."

FABULOUS AT 43. Samantala, swak na swak kay Ms. Zsa Zsa ang katagang ‘fabulous at forty' dahil kapansin-pansing extra beautiful and sexy siya ngayong 43 years old na siya.

"I'm 43. I'm sorry, I cannot lie. Ayaw ni Lord! Idinamay si Lord? Hahaha! I'm 43 and lovin' it!" proud na pag-amin niya.

"*** life ko? Oo! Pero kailangang tanungin mo mismo si Dolphy. Ide-dare kitang tanungin mo si Dolphy niyan, ‘Sir, kumusta po ang *** life n'yo?' Tingnan natin kung anong isasagot niya!" halakhak pa ng Divine Diva.

Zsa Zsa does a balancing act

    Zsa Zsa’s blog

Next comes Zsa Zsa Padilla’s blog (http://zsazsapadilla.multiply.com/journal/
item/29) journal dated Oct. 8 which she let me share with you. It shows that beneath all the glitz, Zsa is just like any working mom who has a tough balancing act to do day after day. She’s truly one superwoMOM!

    Finding courage

As some of you may know, my daughter, Nicole―or Coco, as people fondly call her―is back in Melbourne for her studies. The first time she was away, it took a month before I could go inside her room. It was hard leaving her to be on her own. But knowing how much she’s grown independently, I can’t help but smile and feel happy for her. I am proud of all my children, that God gave me three beautiful, brilliant ones I can call my friends.

Nicole borrowed my iPod plug and she forgot to give it back. When I asked her about it before she left Saturday, she told me that she left it in her room. I’ve been putting off plans of going inside her room but I figured I would need to connect my iPod to my computer soon enough so I prayed for courage before going in. I’ve been secretly crying for a few days before she left and I know my family has been, too. We miss her, but knowing she’ll be home every two months makes things a little easier.

We always worry about what the future has in store for us and for people we love the most, especially our children. I’m sure most working Moms feel the same way, when the time we put in to be with our families is never enough.

And yet, we never give up. We strive harder to be closer to our children, making sure not to commit the same mistakes our parents had in raising us. And making sure we instill in our children the good ones we learned from our parents.

    Sweet weakness

Zsa Zsa Padilla pigged out on chocolates while enjoying a DVD marathon of all the episodes of “Gilmore Girls.” She says that based on the series’ characters, she dresses like Rory and talks like Lorelai. After eating all the sweets in sight (including the ones Dolphy hid in their entertainment center), Zsa officially declares, “Chocolates and me are through!” Now it’s only Dolphy’s sweetness that remains to be her weakness.
