Signature Campaign for a NEW and STRONG Philippines!

for clarification purposes, i want all the posters here to know that i am not acting out as a leader or any other self proclaimed position.. i am however would identify myself as a patriot that is trying to express my/our concerns publicly and seeking who else feels the same..

this forum was purposely created by abs-cbn, correct me if i am wrong, for pinoys around the globe.. as we all know pinoys can be found almost geographically anywhere! in this forum specifically we share our endless thoughts and concerns about the past, current, and future of our country, political, social, economical, environmental basically just about everything that causes our blood to boil or our heart to melt! i cannot agree more if someone here will say that we are redundant at times, if not always. I say nobody can blame us if we keep on yaking about bad news instead of good issues because the bad news is just so overwhelming that we can barely notice the good..

This time our country is not only going nowhere but also down hill! the people behind the system is so corrupt that they make it all look as if everything is A ok! from barangay level to municipal to distict to regional and to national!!  bribes, illegal contracts, kickbacks, virtually this people is selling not only the countrys future but its children along with it!

WE ALL KNOW WHATS GOING ON IN OUR COUNTRY and WE ALL ALSO KNOW WE CAN DO SOMETHING IF WE UNITE!

so if anyone here feels the same as some of us do and is want to do something about all these issues regarding our motherland please make yourself known and share thoughts of what possible solutions that we could formulate other than just acting here like a reporter or a columnist of some sort.

IN MY PART (AND SOME OF THE POSTERS HERE MENTIONED) as a concerned citizen, I MOTION FOR a MASSIVE OUTREACH, a Congregation of PINOYS local and abroad, to start with.. and perhaps form a Strong Political Party as soon as able!!

Re: Signature Campaign for a NEW and STRONG Philippines!

Very vague proposition. Would you care to elaborate and break down into details the objective and purpose of what  you are saying? You mentioned "Strong Political Party." What will its formation achieve that other political parties in existence have not? How would a "congregation" of Pinoys local and abroad  be possible?

I'm a good boy. Sadly, all men are created equal.

Re: Signature Campaign for a NEW and STRONG Philippines!

I know this is magnifying the obvious. But before we come up with a cure, we need to know the problems in the first place.

Our country has seen political party members flip-flopping on their platforms and hopping from one party to another (to pay or seek political favors). So we end up with politicians wavering from their commitments to their constituents, simply because conscience is out of the question. Good moral fiber should be the heart of a party. Whether its individual members are in consonance with this tenet or otherwise, at least we know what the party stands for.

Here's a quick test: name a political party and ask yourself what its main thrust is? education, infrastructure, anti-crime, economic stability, health & safety? Focus on economy: liberalized or protective of national interest? A progressive/trickle-down national government or empowered local governments championing labor as an asset in this day and age of globalization?

I propose a two-party system of government: one with a macro view, another with a micro view. In its current state. If we are to set up a party, which one will you choose?

kapatid for the exact details of the movement on how to make all this happen the blueprint and all.. that i do not know yet, i have ideas/suggestions,  but i think it would it would be more effective if we proceed with the head count first then if we raise a certain # of kababayan we then elect coordinators to facilitate the pooling of ideas...

again we all know this is a long way home but if the saying is true "astig daw ang pinoy", hindi easy go lucky ha"   we can all make this dream come true! even if it means starting in just little steps.

please if anybody here feels like he/she has the proper background and heart to fill in the position as facilitators please make yourself known.

hi pcl, i hope you dont mind if I ask you a few questions... you have nice site and i know you spent a lot of time modifying this one,  regarding my questions...

first and foremost whats your goal in this site?

i noticed you are giving away freebies for new members.. does that imply that this is a business/commercial site?

as you may have already known our goal in this thread is to organize, recruit and pool ideas.. i presume you have a really good background with web languages (hmtl, php, sql?)

if your goal is not really into the commercial side, do you think you can send us a similar format of your site? with our personal modification in it?

we already have abs-cbn community forum for bloggers, hobbyist, and opinions ..  and we are more like interested in having a more specialized and goal oriented web site, with this we can have a certain levels of privacy which will be crucial to the cause.. anyways if you think you can share your services in this manner it will be very helpful!

      mabuhay po!

The site purpose is to collect peoples opinion.

Technology and the Internet are changing democracy in all over the world. We envision this site as one hub for the conversation already underway between political practitioners and technologists, as well as anyone invigorated by the potential of all this to open up the process and engage more people in all the things that we can and must do together as citizens.

Do you have domain? I will just teach you how to make one

And harvesting your e-mail. Any honest-to-goodness web site will have a Privacy Policy which is nowhere in the site. Since it's a commercial site, guess where will the freebies come from.

DIRECTING THEM FOR THE MEANTIME IN THIS FORUM site

    KATIPUNAN.FORUM2U.ORG

    - I created this last year, its not much but we can start from here.. hopefully if somebody will join in the future that is well versed in Web languages we can transfer to a more effective place.

    suggestions please!

    adrix7,

I admire your passion. But without a platform, there simply is no way you can convince people to join your cause. How can you be sure they are for or against it? Make a proposal. We need to understand the motives and the objectives.

For a start, an objective could be the creation of an honest and clean government dedicated to the upliftment of the ordinary citizen through industrialization, socio economic reform, land reform, and infrastructure development.

HI, THIS IS THE THING, I DONT WANT TO FORCE MY IDEAS OR WHAT I WANT.. INSTEAD, AS WHAT I'VE STATED EARLIER IN THIS THREAD, I JUST WANT TO GATHER PEOPLE THAT HAS THE HEART TO DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF JUST BEING CONTENTED IN WRITING THEIR GRIEVANCES HERE..

I WANT US TO BE PART OF THE FORMULATION OF BLUPRINT AND ITS EXECUTION.. IM HOPING THE SOLUTION WILL COME FROM US NOT FROM ME,  BESIDES I DONT HAVE THE PROPER BACK GROUND IN MAKING THE PROPOSAL, I KNOW THERE WILL BE PEOPLE WHO IS MORE QUALIFIED THAT IS GOING BE A LOT OF HELP TO DESIGN THE BLUPRINT OF THIS MOVEMENT.

IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST ONE PERSON TO CREATE AN EFFECTIVE SOLUTION AND WE DONT WANT TO GAMBLE THAT.. SPECIALLY IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BIGGER THAN OURSELVES.. OUR COUNTRY.

AS WHAT I'VE MENTIONED EARLIER WE NEED TO EXPAND FIRST SO WE CAN GATHER PRECIOUS IDEAS FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS THAT WE WILL SURELY NEED IN CREATING THE MISSION AND VISION FOR THIS CAMPAIGN.

THEN.. WE TOUCH THE SOCIAL, ECONOMICAL, POLITICAL, ETC ASPECTS..  IM SURE ITS A LONG PROCESS AND WILL EAT  UP A LOT OF OUR TIME CREATING THIS MANUAL.

ITS A LONG SHOT BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT..

Let's not forget we live in a world economy. Industrialization, economic reform, land reform, and infra dev't projects are good. But we must look beyond what will fill our stomachs today. We need a government that does not satisfy us, but our children.

Education needs to be prioritized, after having been in the dusty shelves of Malacanang for a long time, thus leaving our children behind in terms of globalization efforts. The Internet has changed that. I am not saying all our kids should have IT or nursing degrees in college. That's too myopic. This is why we now have too many IT and nursing graduates who can't find jobs or are underemployed.

We need a firm stand on population control. We just have too many mouths to feed. The way to do it is incentivize families with lesser children, in the form of lower taxes - instead of going head-on against the Catholic Church, which will be too much of an impediment to this effort. So we can achieve this goal indirectly, without promoting the use of contraceptives or worse, abortion. The logic is simple: more children means lesser of your assets/hard earned money distributed among them when we lie in our graves, less children means giving them a better chance to compete in society.

Industrialization, infra development projects, economic reform must be weighed against land reform. These are big words but they compete for the same resources. If we build more roads , factories and homes, we lose out on agriculture. Which one to prioritize then?

Re: Signature Campaign for a NEW and STRONG Philippines!

What we should have is a political platform that is middle-class centric. Here's the rationale:

A strong middle class blurs the lines between rich and poor. Education received by this sector is not that far from the moneyed elite. Distribution of wealth is dictated by the need of those with the money for people who will manage their businesses. A broader base at this level of the socio-economic pyramid only means there will be a need for more people at the lower levels, hence a better chance at growing the head honchos' businesses. Plus the fact that the educational level and increased income potential of those in the upper middle class translates to better opportunities for this sector to start their own businesses that compete with the big boys. More heads at the top, more heads at the bottom.

This way, the 2% of our population controlling 50% of the country's resources will be a thing of the past. But this can only be achieved if we have government policies that prioritize the middle class - instead of the poorer 80% of our population straining all government resources. There will always be poor people in any capitalist society. It is  unfortunate that our brothers and sisters at the bottom of the pyramid always worry about their hand-to-mouth existence. To make the difference, make the middle class richer. They will employ their poorer neighbors.

We shall try as much as possible to create a balance. But, these are details that will be open for discussion as soon as we have organized an OFW association that can lobby for a better government and with the possibility to morph into a reformist political party. A lot of brain drain has happened in the past; let’s now try to open the flood gates of opportunity to flow them back.

exactly, we still need to organize first before making any drafts..

again for now let us start the recruitment process (this will be ongoing  by the way)...  once we feel we have enough brains to start..

then we proceed in pooling ideas.. to create the manual or more like the bible for the campaign

First starting with Mission and Vision, this is very important since this will serve as the campaigns lamp thru the dark ang rough roads ahead!

2nd we break things down and identify the problems and possible approach or/and solutions starting with.. Social/Education or Politics, economy or whichever we decide first
